Ingram -- Martha Lee Langley Ingram, 88, was born in Lee County, Virgina, Hagan Holler in August of 1914. She passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2002 at home with her son and granddaughters present. Her father, Felix Langley, was a coal-miner. Her mother, Lucy Jane Scott Langley, was a homemaker and farmer. Martha Lee was the oldest of seven children, and her parents had a strong belief in education. She grew up working in the garden and fields. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Radford College, Virginia. Her first school was a one-room school at Martins Fork, Kentucky. She then taught three years at Hagan Elementary and three years at St. Charles in Lee County, Virginia. In 1945 she came to Belen, New Mexico and married M.H. Ingram, a railroader. In 1956, she began teaching in Magdalena where she taught mathematics. After 27 years of dedicated teaching, she retired to enjoy her vegetable garden, outside chores, and her family. She continued in the education field, tutoring at the University of New Mexico, Valencia Campus. She was also the treasurer for the New Mexico Retired Teachers. She was preceded in death by her sister, Stella and her husband, Monnie Ingram. Martha is survived by her sisters, Myrtle, Nellie Mae, Virginia Edith Langley; her brothers, Alfred William Langley of Lee County, Virginia, Billy Cecil and his wife, Sierra Sue; nephews, Jeffery Allen, and Christopher Lee Langley and his wife, Trish with great nieces, Rachael LeAnne and Victoria Rae Skinner; great-nephew, Jesse Alexander, all of Northern Virginia; his two sons, Henry Issac and his wife, Virginia of Belen, NM; her grandson, David Issac and his wife, Jessica Ingram; great-grandchildren, Mercedes Michelle, Tyler Issac; granddaughters, Jenni Renee Ingram and Karen Amy Diaz and her husband, Gabriel and great-grandchildren, Brittany Marie; and Brandon Gabriel of Bernalillo, NM; Everett William and his wife, Colleen of Sandoval County, NM; granddaughter, Lorie Dawn van Ongevalle and her husband, Alan of Amarillo, Texas. All Services will take place in the Romero Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be heldť on Friday, October 19, 2002 from 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 19, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, October 19, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Wills officiating. Interment will follow at the Terrace Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Ingram, Alan van Ongevalle, Gabriel Diaz, Carl Dodd, Matt Metevier, and Justin Caillouette.
