Croxton -- Donald B. Croxton, a resident of Albuquerque for 42 years, died Saturday, October 26, 2002. Don was born in Moline, Illinois on January 13, 1929 to Charles and Miriam Croxton. He graduated from Moline High School in 1947. He also attended college at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan where he graduated in 1958 with a degree in Theology. Don received his certification as a Respiratory Therapist while in Albuquerque. While attending college he met and married Nancy Dowell. They had four children, David, Kathy, Becky and Robert. In 1960 the Croxton's moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where Don worked at various jobs. He taught Biology and Math at Lincoln Jr. High, he worked at Presbyterian and Lovelace Hospitals before hiring on at TVI, where he worked for 30 years teaching Respiratory Therapy, Math and English classes. Don loved to fly fish on the San Juan River with his friends. He also took up woodcarving and 'dabbled' in writing. He was a very spiritual man who was strong in his faith. Through his spiritual leadership over the years he brought many to the gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. He recently enjoyed teaching a Sunday school class at the First United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his children, David Croxton and wife, Mindy from Apopka, FL, Kathy Gardner and husband, Ted from Winston Salem, NC, Becky Witte and husband, Joe from Sandpoint, ID, and Dr. Robert Croxton and wife, Melissa from Los Osos, CA, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Juanita Bissell and husband, LeVerne from Hot Springs, AK, his brother Larry Croxton and wife, Ann from Heflin, LA, his brother Robert in Silvis, IL along with his cousins, nieces and nephews. His mother and father and older brother Walter precedes him in death. Services for Donald B. Croxton will be held Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 4th & Lead, SW. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Cemetery, Rio Rancho, NM. Friends may visit French Mortuary-Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd., NW. (3 Blocks N. of Paseo Del Norte) Friday, November 1st from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
