Chavez -- Mrs. Florence Elizabeth Chavez, 82, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on October 24, 2002, peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family. Mrs. Chavez is the beloved mother to one son, Donald Packingham and wife Della. Mrs. Chavez is also survived by three sisters, Ellen Garcia and husband Herman, Margaret Sanchez and Mildred Archibeque and husband Tony; three grandchildren, Don Andrew Packingham, Donna Elizabeth Woody and husband Justin and David Packingham; three great grandchildren, Don Andres Packingham, Dustin Patten and Kyle Packingham; a special niece, Patsy Wardle; a best friend, Dolores Smith; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Chavez was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Chavez; sisters, Dorothy Rubi and Lena Smith; a brother, John Lyons and a granddaughter, Debra Lucille Packingham. Mrs. Chavez was the wife of a World War I I Veteran Batan Death March Survivor. A visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:30pm until 4:00pm, with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00pm by Deacon Harry Beare. A final visitation will be Monday morning in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW from 9:00am until 10:00am. A graveside service will be held at 10:30am at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery by Reverend Jesus Bermudez and Mrs. Louisa Bermudez. Pallbearers will be, Don Packingham, David Packingham, Antonio V. Silva, Vernon Smith, Jim Wardle and Graham Smith. Gabaldon Mortuary in charge of the arrangements. 243-7861
