Telles -- Angel Garcia Telles, went to meet his Savior on Sunday, October 27, 2002. He was surrounded and tenderly cared for by his loving family. Angel was born on May 8, 1925 in Hanover, NM. He moved his family to California then brought them to Albuquerque in 1960. Angel is survived by"the love of his life," his wife, Cecilia Padilla Telles; his son, Richard H. Telles and wife, Bette; daughter, Erlinda Gloria Montoya and husband, Steve L. Montoya; sons, Angel P. Telles, Edmundo Telles Y Padilla and Orlando Telles; sisters, Leonor Tellez of Albuquerque, Socorro Dominquez of San Jose, CA, Ramona Whaley and husband, Grover Whaley of Los Lunas, NM; brother, Ernesto Garcia Tellez of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. Angel was preceded in death by his parents, Arcadio and Maria Tellez, brothers; Henry Tellez, Arcadio Tellez Jr.; sisters, Delfina Tellez and Lupe Salazar; and daughter, Raquel Tellez. Angel was an expert miner, entrepreneur, and successful business man. Angel had a great love of Southwest History, he loved to travel and did so extensively in the United States. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper and was honorably discharged. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon Tom Perez on Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Ben Begin, O.F.M. on Wednesday, October 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Readings by daughter-in-law Bette Telles and Eulogy by son-in-law Steve Montoya. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ernesto Tellez, Grover Whaley, Steve L. Montoya, Joe Moreno, Bryan Telles and Charlie Salazar. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Garcia Telles and Loren Telles. Services are in the care of: Garcia Mortuary 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222
