Alcala -- Dolores May Alcala, 75, a longtime resident of Corrales, went home to her final resting place on Monday, October 28, 2002. Dolores was born April 24, 1927 the daughter of George and Joan DowlingEasterday in Ripon, Wisconsin. She came to Corrales from Chicago, Illinois with her then husband, Frank Alcala who preceded her in death in 1976. She was also preceded in death by her son, Daniel Alcala in 1990. Dolores was an active member of the Old San Ysidro Catholic Church, however she maintained her religion and the beliefs of the Catholic faith. Dolores cherished her children and grandchildren leaving many fond memories within her beloved family. Dolores showered her grandchildren with treats, presents, and surprise gifts, creating a lifetime of memories and smiles. The hearts of all her children and grandchildren will remain with her always. Dolores also loved her dogs, Doxie, Maxie, and Choo Choo. Dolores is survived by eight children, Greg Alcala of Stockton, CA, Rick Alcala and wife, Dottie of Nashville, TN, Ted Alcala of Corrales, NM, Julie Gonyea and husband, Eddie of Grand Burg, TX, Mark Alcala and wife, Barbara of Albuquerque, NM, and Cila Trowbridge and husband, Alan of Rio Rancho, NM; one brother, Bob Easterday/Dowling of Cicero, IL; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Dolores will be remembered as a person who was generous, caring, loving, and giving of herself. Dolores will be deeply missed by countless family, friends, and neighbors. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales.
