Tafoya -- Ruby"Jane" Tafoya, 63, a resident of Albuquerque since 1968, passed away on November 1, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Louis Tafoya of Albuquerque; three sons, Tomas Tafoya and wife, Kelly of Painesville, OH, Jeffrey Tafoya and wife, Tillie of Roswell, NM and Andres Tafoya of Albuquerque; two daughters, Elena Trotter and husband, Abran of Albuquerque and Teresa Lucero and husband, Joe of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Olivia Tafoya of Roswell, Maria and Sara Tafoya of Painesville, OH, Michael Trotter of Albuquerque and Ryan Lucero of Albuquerque; niece, Leisha Andrews of North Carolina. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Andrews and Norma Evelyn Bates; and a brother, Thurman Andrews. Ruby was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was very active in the community and she was also a member of the West Mesa Neighborhood Association & Crime Prevention Committee Chairperson, and of the Albuquerque Police Department COP-NET. She was very active in the West Mesa Little League in the 1970's and 1980's. She was also a strong advocate in support of passage of the"Megan's Law" by the state legislature. Service will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 1200 Atrisco SW with Pastor Leonard Apodaca officiating. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Friends may visit French Mortuary - Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3 blocks N. of Paseo del Norte) on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of NM for (Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis research) 216 Truman NW, Alb. NM 87108.
