Armenta -- Jacob"Jack" Armenta, 87, a resident of Tijeras, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Margarita Armenta of the family home; 11 children, Joe Armenta, Ethel and Gilbert Sandoval, Bobby and Vivian Armenta, Jake and Daisy Armenta, Matt and Teresa Armenta, Clarence and Linda Armenta, Pauline and Gilbert Torres, Yolanda and Juan Barreras, Kathryn and John Palmer, Kathleen and Ernie Gomez and Daryl Armenta; 37 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Dulcinea Sanchez; and brother-in-law, Pedro Riboni; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Prisca and Jose Armenta; sister, Emma; and brother, Julian Armenta; a granddaughter, Denise Armenta; great-grandson, Isidro Ortiz; daughter-in-law, Bea Armenta; and son-in-law, Ralph Cervantes Sr.. He worked for Kirtland Air Force Base, the State Highway Dept. as a Patrol Foreman, and then retired as a heavy equipment operator/supervisor for Bernalillo County. He started Armenta Trucking and worked part-time for the Village of Tijeras in Road Maintenance. He was a member of Holy Child Catholic Church in Tijeras where he built a grotto and where he was named majordomo for life. His talent for composing verses for many occasions including weddings was very well known. He was also known for his love of family and church, and loved to travel. Rosary for Mr. Armenta will be Monday, December 2, 2002, 8:00 p.m., at Holy Child Catholic Church, Tijeras. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Holy Child Church, with Fr. Albert Gallegos, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Tijeras Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his sons, Joe, Bobby, Jake, Matt, Clarence, and Daryl. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Armenta, Gilbert Sandoval Jr., Leonard Armenta, Gilbert Thomas Torres, Julian Armenta, Matt J.
