Black -- Willea Black, born September 1, 1913 in Canadian, Texas and moved with her parents, William and Mary Nuckles to Hot Springs, New Mexico, now Truth or Consequences, New Mexico when she was a youngster. She finished high school there and attended the University of New Mexico and returned to T or C where she began working in the Postal Service. When her husband Frank returned from the military service, they moved to Albuquerque in 1953 when she then transferred to the Postal Service. She retired as Secretary to the Postmaster after 38 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and their daughter, Jo Ann Thompson; and sister, Velma Estes, who lived in Oregon. She is survived by her granddaughter, Margaret and her husband, William Henderson and their two daughters, Katelynn and Samantha; another granddaughter, Jennifer Thompson; and her son-in-law George Thompson and his wife, Judy. Services will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. Santa Fe National Cemetery.
