Hernandez -- Mr. Joseph Hernandez, 80, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on December 23, 2002. Mr. Hernandez is the beloved husband of 53 years to Mrs. Helen Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez is also survived by two daughters, Gloria Quintana and husband Robert, Jennie Romero and Husband Ed; one sister, Vickie Valdez; ten grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Thomas, Robert, Michelle, Joey, Christina, Terrance, Jeremy and Savannah; seven great grandchildren; special friends, Jessie and Debbie Delgado. Mr. Hernandez is preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Bustamante. Mr. Hernandez was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U.S.Army, P.F.C. serving in World War I I in the 62nd Armored Field Artillery Battalion, retired from Sandia Labs after 30 years. Mr. Hernandez was a devoted husband, father and grandpa. He was a very loving and caring person and will be dearly missed. A visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. A final viewing will be Friday morning from 7:30 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at St. Edwins Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. by Father Bill Sanchez. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be, Terrance Romero, Thomas Bustamante, Joey Quintana, Jeremy Romero, Michael Bustamante and Robert Quintana. Honoray Pallbearers will be Josesph Bustamante and Jessie Delgado. Gabaldon Mortuary, in charge of the arrangements. 243-7861.
