Chappell -- Mary Jone Harrington Chappell, 70, peacefully passed away at home in Corrales on Sunday, December 22, 2002, while surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Buddie Chappell, son, Norman Ned Chappell and his wife, Jeannie McNeil Chappell, daughters, Dorothy Schroeder and Debbie Dickinson and her husband, Steve Dickinson, and grandchildren, Travis Schroeder, Jessica Yasuda, Daniel Packard, Elise, Derek and Sean Chappell, and a multitude of loving relatives and friends. Although Jone had many interests and talents, her primary focus was to build and maintain a strong, loving family and home. Jone loved the mountains and she and Buddie spent many happy hours with family and friends at the cabin they built together in Southern Colorado. She was a patron of the arts and was, at one time, very involved with Art Fest. Another passion Jone pursued was genealogy and for many years, she edited and published the quarterly newsletter for the Albuquerque Genealogical Society. Between visiting her children and grandchildren and traveling the world, Jone found time to make quilts, do historical research, paint, play bridge and bowl. She will be remembered by everyone as a gracious, loving and beautiful woman. In lieu of flowers, Jone would be honored by donations to any of the following organizations: Corrales Public Library; The American Cancer Society; The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society; or any shelter for battered women and children or homeless families. Services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2002 at 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
