Mager -- Doris (Dee) Mager, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. She was born July 1, 1925 in New York City to Florence and William Freiman. She is survived by Hy Mager, her husband of 53 years; daughter, Karen Mager and fiancé, Chuck Baker; son, Steve Mager and wife, Lisa; and three granddaughters, Lauren, Julianne and Meghan. Doris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a very special love for all animals especially her dog, Carmel. Doris was the co-founder of Dee's Cheesecake Factory with her husband and continued working there until her illness last year. Doris was a member of Congregation B'nai Israel. The family wishes to give special thanks to her nurse, Carol Ifverson, and Presbyterian Hospice, in particular Janis Mount and Rose. Services will be held at Congregation B'nai Israel, 4401 Indian School RD. NE, 87110, on Monday, June 18, 2001 at 11:30 a.m. with Rabbi Isaac Celnik officiating. Memorial Services will be held at the family home on Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be: Chuck Baker, Jack Zipper, Bob Maguire, Nick Bakas, Jim Miller, Leo Zenner, Al Thomas, and Ken Mager. Honorary Pallbearers are Cantor Josh Perlman, Morris Timinsky, Morty Bernstein, Rance Claypool, Martin Kligman, Marshall Katz, Jeff Sollins, Harry Rosen, Joel Block, and Sam Mandel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, PO Box 297153, Houston, TX, 77297. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
