Konitzer -- Evangelina Rita (Eva) Konitzer, was born April 20, 1933 in Estancia, New Mexico. On Thursday, August 30, 2001, Eva died peacefully in the family home during a valiant battle with cancer. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving wife and dedicated mother. Her energy and compassion of giving to those less fortunate around the world will leave an indelible mark in many people she gave to unselfishly. Eva was preceded in death by her son, Francis Konitzer and daughters, Cecilia Konitzer-Sanchez, and Monica Konitzer. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, John Jr.; her children, John Konitzer III, Kathleen Konitzer-Armijo, Richard Konitzer and wife Janice Deluna-Konitzer; and daughter Rita Konitzer-Helak and fiance, Felipe Rivera; her seven grandchildren: Michael, Patrick, Nicholas, Jacqueline, Jesse, Deanna and Dianna who truly were her"pride and joy"; her brother, Flavio Sanchez; sister, Carmen Alderete and husband, Joe; beloved friends, Doctors Arthur and Ann Weinstein. Eva was a dedicated, devoted registered nurse for 40 years. She touched many lives all over the world through her never ending acts of healing and giving to the many individuals with which she came in contact with. The family would like to thank the following physicians for their compassionate care for our Mother and Wife, Dr. Preston Matthews, Dr. Gopel Reddy, Dr. Keith Harvie and Dr. Barbara McAneny. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 8, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at the Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas NE, 87106. Internment for Eva will be a private family ceremony.
