Caster -- Leon Wesley Caster, 70, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, died Saturday, June 9, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jackie Caster of Albuquerque; son, Lon Caster and wife, Suzanne of Albuquerque; daughters, Robin Armenta and husband, Ken of Capitan, NM, and Sande Lucero of Albuquerque; and nine grandchildren, Wesley, Justin, Tracy, Lisa, Willie, Jeff, Samantha Jo, Lee, and Lane. He was born March 11, 1931 in Estancia, NM. Mr. Caster served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired after 35 years with the V.A. Medical Center. Mr. Caster was a life member of D.A.V. and V.F.W. Services will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Pope, Sal Archuleta, John Larry Stevens, Tom Hess, Gary Galemore and Michael Thompson. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Monday, June 11, 2001, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to D.A.V., 2511 Utah NE, 87110. French University, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
