Bergkvist -- Mary J. Bergkvist, 77, a resident Albuquerque since 1941, died on January 16, 2001. She was born in Grinnell, IA and was a homemaker. Her husband, Joel E. Bergkvist II preceded her in death in 1991. Mrs. Bergkvist is survived by four children, John J. Bergkvist of Albuquerque, Patricia Marie Nickels and husband, Tom of Houston, TX, Joel Bergkvist and wife, Beverly of Datil, NM and Mary Ann Stewart and husband, Gerald Skiver of Dallas, TX; three brothers, Gerald Brown and wife, Margaret of Albuquerque, Bernard Brown of Mountainair, NM, and Charles Brown of El Segundo, CA; and a sister, Catherine Carnevalli of Albuquerque. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, John, Mark, Debra, Jeremiah, Catherine, Jessi, Andrew, Cindy, Linda, Carolyn, Joel, Elaine, Tim, Joan, Matthew, Jeanne, Theresa, and Mary Kay; 19 great-grandchildren including, Trevor, Joshua, Stephanie, Donald, Jordan, Jamie, Shelby, Tommy, Michael, Jackson, Faith, Rochell, Scott, Eric, and Sarah; and one-great-great-grandchild, Morgan. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Chapel of Sandia, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Funeral Mass is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, Wyoming at Paseo Del Norte, followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Mary Kay Park, Jeanne Park, Trevor Bennett, John Bergkvist, Joel Bergkvist, and Robert Huddleston. Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming blvd. NE.
