West -- Leonard C. West, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, crossed over April 19, 2001 at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genev a West and grandson, Kevin Anderson. Surviving him are his wife of 16 years, Nona West; daughters, Gayle Anderson and Vicki Torr; grandchildren, Keri Anderson and Michelle Barton; great-grandchildren, Kathryn Magee, Amory Barton and Lena Barton. Leonard was born November 28, 1908 on a farm in Lincoln County, Kansas. He moved to Muleshoe, Texas at an early age and lived there until after he married, started a family and always considered himself a Texan. Leonard was a member of the Elks ¯51¯ Club and attended the First Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his gentle manner, wry sense of humor, great memory, exact sense of where he was even though he couldn¯t see, and his cowboy boots, jeans and cowboy hat. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Noonday Ministries, P.O. Box 25451, Albuquerque, NM 87125. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2001, 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary ,Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd N.E. with Rev. Steve Taylor and Rev. Dennis Lihte, officiating. .DMP
