Mleczek -- Sister Mary Febronia Mleczek, 90, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Albuquerque. Sister Febronia served the Lord and His people as a Felician-Franciscan Sister for 71 years. Of these, she spent 54 years teaching elementary school students in Illinois, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Wisconsin, California, and Texas. After retiring from full-time teaching, she continued working in religious education programs. She possessed a wry sense of humor that helped her face difficulties with great determination and patience and brought delight to those around her. Sister Febronia was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Grabowska Mleczek; two sisters, Mary Mleczek and Sister Mary Emily Mleczek (also a Felician Sister); and two brothers, Joseph and Anthony Mleczek. She is survived by two nieces, Germaine Mleczek of Ogema, WI, and Anna Noskowiak of Antigo, WI; and a cousin, Sister Mary Flora Leszczynski, FSPA, of La Crosse, WI. A Vesper Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. and a Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2001 at the Felician Sisters Convent, 4210 Meadowlark Ln., SE, Rio Rancho. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convent at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
