Jones -- Bettie Kellis Jones, passed away at her home Tuesday, April 10, 2001. She was born December 7, 1923 to Harvey Carrell and Annie Irene Kellis in Donner, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Marjorie. She is survived by her sons Douglas Roy James and his wife Eunice of Albuquerque, N.M. and William Kellis Jones of Estancia, NM; sister Ann Carrell Broeg of Houma, LA; grandchildren William Jr., Gary, Sciobahn and Rebecca Jones; niece Susan Lear of Wichita, KS; nephew James Winfiele of Midlothian, VA. Bettie graduated from Louisiana State University and became a registered nurse. While in Albuquerque, she worked for the public schools as a school nurse. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her exuberance was characterized by her love of golf and its many associations. Because of these activities, she had a very wide circle of friends and acquaintances. She added much to all of our lives and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at 2:00 pm. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the La Mesa Presbyterian Church. Cremation arrangements by the Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200
