Kuehne -- Mary Margaret Kuehne, 84, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2001 after a period of failing health. She was born in Highland Park, IL on October 7, 1916 and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1943. Her husband, Raymond was stationed at Kirtland during the second World War. They were married 44 years until his death in 1986. Mary Margaret's greatest achievement, besides her children, came in 1970 when she graduated from UNM, Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude. She began her career as an Educator, teaching French at Sandia and English at Eldorado. After she retired from teaching, she often took trips to visit friends in Europe. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her older brother, Kim Stevenson; and her very dear friend, Patsy Sherman. She is survived by her younger brother, Keith Stevenson and his wife, Vicki, of Sylmar, CA; her daughter, Anne Whiteside and her husband, Richard of Los Lunas, NM; her son, Loren Kuehne and his wife, Nancy of Las Cruces, NM; her two grandchildren, Ryan and Dru Whiteside. She also had many foreign exchange students who were very dear to her, Steffen and Marianne Johanson of Denmark, Anne and Per Trinderup also from Denmark, and Zubair Haq who is living in Houston and several others whom she considered her children.
