Torres -- Bernadette (Berna) Molina Torres, 47, a lifelong resident of Belen, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 1999. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She belonged to the Organ and Tissue Donors Foundation for many years. Berna was a well known area beautician, retiring in 1984 due to a kidney transplant. She loved children and she cared for and helped raise many area children. The kids grew so attached to her that they all called her Grammy. Her favorite past time was bingo. She is survived by her daughter, Renee Gallucci; two grandchildren, Raquel and Chanelle, all of Belen; a very loving friend, Stephen Francis of Los Alamos; her parents, Filimon Molina of Belen and Andrea Gutierrez and her husband, Morris of Albuquerque; her four sisters and one brother; and her loving nieces and nephews. Berna is also survived by three very special friends, Rose Sanchez, Lillie Baca, and Mildred Garley. There will be a viewing Monday, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Belen Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jessica Romero-Aragon, Melissa Romero, Nicole Romero, Myra Aragon, Rosie Sullivan, Rose Sanchez, Lillie Baca, and Mildred Garley. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main, Belen.

Beadle -- Walter Crawford Beadle, age 85, died Saturday, May 22, 1999 at his home in Weatherford, Texas. Walter Crawford Beadle was born September 9, 1913 in Otay, California to Earl and Madge Beadle. Apart from being a devoted and cherished husband of 58 years, a loving and dedicated father, a respected grandfather and an adored great-grandfather, Mr. Beadle spent 22 years in the oil well servicing industry with The Western Company NA until 1964, retiring as Executive Vice President in charge of operations. He then directed his attention and interest to the diesel engine repair and service business. The first successful endeavor began in Amarillo, Texas and two years later purchased what became known as Sandia Detroit Diesel in Albuqueque, New Mexico with branch offices in Farmington, NM and Pecos, TX. Mr. Beadle also successfully sought out and participated in turning raw ranching acreage into circle irrigated farm land producing corn and milo in the Dalhart, TX area. Mr. Beadle greatly enjoyed all sporting events, whether participating or observing. The early years took him hunting in remote areas of Canada and fishing the Gulf of Mexico out of Tampico, Mexico or lake fishing in New Mexico, Arizona and Texas. More recently he became an avid ice hockey fan, attending his first gage at 85 years of age. Family and friends will best remember Walter for his candor, strength of character and purpose, and focused determination to conquer any challenge incurred or self-imposed. He is survived by his wife, Betty Louise Beadle; two sons, Cap David and wife, Nancy of Albuquerque and Michael Earl and wife, Julia of San Angelo, TX; daughter, Jonna Stubbs and Tedd Stubbs of Weatherford, TX; grandchildren, James Beadle, Gary Beadle and his wife, Cheryl, Laurie Kuykendall and husband, Chris, Robert Stubbs and wife, Jennifer, David Loveless, Stephen Loveless and wife, Kiala, Ferris Simmons and husband, Rob, Fara Beadle, Farley Beadle, Lisa Herrington and husband, Chuck; nine great-grandchildren; Mr. & Mrs. Beadle's devoted friend and companion, Johnnie Richardson. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Central Christian Church with proceeds benefiting the Sanctuary Refurbishing Project. The family will be having visitation at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm, in Weatherford from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, May 24, 1999. Funeral Services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 25, 10:00 a.m. at Central Christian Church in Weatherford with Burial Services in Woodson, Texas, 4:00 p.m. at Woodson Cemetery. Brachear -- Lula B. Brachear, 88, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away at home on Sunday, May 23, 1999. She was a member of the Methodist Church, was past Grand Noble of the Rabbecas, and a past officer of the Women's Auxiliary of the Elks Lodge. She was preceded in death by her father, Leslie Brachear in 1971; four brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Pazzi of Los Lunas; three grandchildren, Keith Dixon and his wife, Naoma of Peralta, Gordon Dixon and his wife, Debra of Albuquerque, and Nick Pazzi and his wife, Jill of Bosque Farms; ten great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren. Lula is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. There will be a Graveside Service on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Albuquerque. Brown -- Benita M. Brown, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, died Friday, May 21, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Uber; granddaughter, Sharon Miller and husband, John; sister, Leona Cowan; and many nieces and nephews that she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Brown. Mrs. Brown was from a family of seven. She worked as Spears Department Store for many years in Los Alamos before moving to Albuquerque. Mrs. Brown owned Los Lomas Grocery Store in the 50s, which was located on what is now Lomas Blvd. NE. In her later life, she enjoyed her church and her many friends. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was a charter member of the Eastern Star in Los Alamos and also belonged to the Rebecca's. She was formerly of 913 Cardenas NE. Services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel. 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Pastor Winfred Walker officiating. Entombment will follow at Chester T. Chavez -- Adolph John Chavez died Thursday at the age of 43. He is survived by his parents, Alfred and Virginia Chavez; his wife, Stephanie Chavez; one son, George Chavez; two daughters, Vanessa Chavez and Jessica Chavez, all of Albuquerque; and two brothers, Alfred C. Chavez of Palos Verdes, CA and Michael A. Chavez of Pine Valley, CA. A memorial service will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at the Church on the Rock, 5300 2nd St. NW. Marvel -- Robert S. Marvel, 84, a resident of Albuquerque for four years died, Saturday, May 22, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Marvel of the family home; one daughter, Elaine M. Miller and husband, Clyde of Albuquerque; one son, Robert S. Marvel, Jr. and wife, Lynda of South Weber, UT; three grandchildren, Stacielynn Miller, Heather, and Ryan Marvel. He was a veteran of WWII. Mr. Marvel was a graduate of Goldie-Beacom College in 1934 and retired from E.I. Du Pont Company in 1974. Services will be held, Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE with Rev. Allen McCallum Officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Sanchez -- Steven Mark Sanchez, 52, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, was called home by the Lord on May 21, 1999. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Sanchez; and sister-in-law, Vangie Gilliam-Romero in 1998. Mr. Sanchez is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Dorothy; two daughters, Stephanie, and Jessica and her fiancee, Jimmy Garcia; one special grandson, Zebadiah Steven (his little sidekick); his mother, Epifania Torres; step-mother, Sarah Sanchez; and a very special aunt, Susie Sanchez; his brothers, Frank and wife, Cruzita, Levi and wife, Cathy, Ernest and wife, Josie, Albert and wife, Bianca, Fred and wife, Lenore, and Eddie and wife, Cathy; three Godsons, Brian Sanchez, Tommy Sanchez, and Brian Oberlander; his mother- and father-in-law, George and Andrea Gilliam; sisters- and brothers-in-law; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and friends. Steven was a retired ironworker from Local Union 495 and enjoyed ironwork, hunting and spending time at his cabin in Chilili, NM. His pride and joy, however, came from being a grandpa"papa" and all they learned from each other in the five years they shared.
