SHERWOOD, MICHAEL STEVEN Michael Sherwood, 36, our beloved, kind and most generous son, passed away Tuesday June 4. Michael was born June 27, 1976, was a life-long resident of Albuquerque, enjoyed being with family and friends, had a beautiful smile and loved to laugh. He is survived by his sister Stephanie, parents Steve and Camille Sherwood, godparents Ronnie and Pam Elliott, godson Isiah Lovato; a large family: Jeannie and Daryl Burleson, Robert Lake III, Lori, Logan and Connor; Jackie and Gerald Maese; Curtis Sanchez and Max Torres; Lee Trimble, Leona, Tracey and children; Blanche and James Jones, Amanda, Jessica, Sarah and children; Patricia and Michael Doyle, Jeremy, Megan and Piers; Joseph, Kimberly and Brooklynn Trimble; Tim, Rayna and Ryan Trimble; Jason and Jairus Elliott, Kevin and Naletta Elliott and girls; Luanne and Robert Hoxie, Michelle and Matthew; Debbie and Orlando Romero; Greg and Connie Sherwood, Shandie, Marcus, and Harrison Randolph; other extended family, and many, many friends and colleagues. Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents Lee and Blanche Trimble, Jerry and Darlene Sherwood, and uncles Robert Lake Jr., and Ronald J. Trimble. Michael enjoyed white-water rafting, fast cars and his big truck, off-roading, shift-cart racing, four-wheeling, snow skiing, camping and traveling. He was a UNM Lobo fan and a long-time fan of the Michigan Wolverines. Michael had a long and successful career at Sandia National Laboratories as a contractor and employee of SAIC, Verizon and most recently Black Box. Michael was a protective and loving brother and son; his love, friendship, laughter and generosity touched many and he will be deeply missed. A service celebrating Michael's life will take place on Monday, June 10 at 11:00 AM at Sagebrush Community Church at 6440 Coors Blvd NW. PENDALL, JOANNE SISK Joanne, 83, died peacefully May 26 in Santa Fe following a brief illness. Joanne was born in Madison, Wisconsin and moved with her mother and brother to Albuquerque in 1942. Joanne graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1947 and attended Vassar College and the University of Pennsylvania. She married Rudolf (Rud) Pendall (1915-1998) in 1959 and moved back to Albuquerque in 1970. Joanne obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration at UNM and worked at UNM and Sandia National Laboratories, retiring in 1994. For the past 13 years, Joanne lived with her longtime friend Ann Lodge in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Joanne loved singing, travel, and photography. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, skiing, camping, geology, and bird watching. She was politically engaged, working enthusiastically with the League of Women Voters in the 1960s and strongly supporting progressive candidates. Joanne is survived by her children, Elise Pendall of Laramie, WY, and Rolf Pendall of Takoma Park, MD; her grandchildren Gabriel Bolton of Laramie and Rose Pendall Black of Takoma Park. BARTHOLOMEW, BERNICE "BERNIE" BENDER Age 92, died May 31, 2013 at Emeritus Senior Living in Towson, MD. Born on August 27, 1920, daughter of the late Effie Miller Bender and Mark Twain Bender, Bernice graduated from Salisbury High School in Salisbury, PA. She attended Goshen College and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. During World War II, Bernice worked as a draftsperson at the Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Company in Baltimore, MD. In 1947 she married Howard Coleman Bartholomew, whom she met at the Martin Company. They moved to Texas in 1948 and raised six children. Upon Howard's retirement, Bernice and Howard moved to Springs, PA, and built a log house. Bernice volunteered as a wool spinner at Penn Alps craft village in Grantsville, MD. After Howard's death in 1990, Bernice moved to Albuquerque, NM. She volunteered at Rancho de las Golondrinas near Santa Fe, NM, from 1999 to 2010. Bernice learned the art of colcha embroidery, using her own hand-spun and hand-dyed yarns to create artistic scenes of flora and fauna. She moved to Baltimore in 2010. Bernice is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Ian Weir of Rockville, MD; son, John Bartholomew of Austin, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Joe Bartholomew and Christy Sly of Portland, OR; daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Michael Treadway of Baltimore; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and John Tanner of Fairfax, VA; sister, Anne Johnson of Fort Worth, TX; granddaughters, Melissa Corrigan of Chicage, IL, Eve McCabe of Austin, and Anneli, Charlotte, Indie Rice of Albuquerque; grandsons, John and Ryan Tanner of Fairfax, Matthew Bartholomew of Austin, Peter Treadway of Baltimore, Michael Weir of Rockville and Caleb Mangum of Austin; and great- grandchildren, Brenna and Matthew McCabe of Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Amy Lynn Bartholomew, and her sister Mary Lois Weaver. LAWLOR, ANN J. Age 67, of Albuquerque, NM, was released into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Friday, May 31, 2013. She was born in Denver, CO on June 26, 1945 and graduated from St. Francis de Sales School. Ann married John Lawlor in 1964, gave birth to two children, and lived in Denver before relocating to Albuquerque in 1981. She worked for Supply One, formerly Eddleman Ind., for almost 30 years before retiring in 2011. Ann loved gardening, entertaining, traveling, and spending time with her beloved friends and family, especially her four grandchildren who adored their Nana. Ann is survived by her husband, John; two children: Michael Lawlor and wife Shauna of Frisco, TX; and Shari Skaggs and husband Kent of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Taylor Lawlor, Bailey Lawlor, Sarah Skaggs, and Shane Skaggs; as well as other family members and friends who loved her and will miss her greatly. The Rosary and Eulogy will be recited at 7:00pm, Wednesday, June 12th with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am, Thursday, June 13th at Church of the Risen Savior. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the American Cancer Society, (www.cancer.org), would be an appropriate and appreciated way to help fight this disease that affects so many of our friends and loved ones.

GILLESPIE, MANUELITA (LITA) Age 91, passed peacefully on June 4, 2013 at Kaseman Hospice with family at her side, she is in the company of angels in heaven, we'll miss you mom. Lita will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Homer Milton Gillespie; three brothers, David, Paul, Ernest Gonzales; and one sister, Dorothy Gonzales. Surviving siblings are two brothers, Adolpho and wife Mary Gonzales of El Paso, TX, Wilfido Gonzales of Albuquerque, NM; and sister, Susie Martinez of Albuquerque, NM. Lita is also survived by three children and three grandchildren, Margie Stoops (husband Bill), of Sandia Park, NM; Michael Gillespie (wife Sharon) and grandsons Michael and Andrew, all of Albuquerque, NM; Linda Ryalls (husband Dan) and granddaughter Danielle, all of Campbell, CA. The family wishes to thank Kaseman Hospice for the outstanding and loving care to Lita, family and friends during her last days. In lieu of flowers the family requests that all donations be made to Kaseman Hospice In-Patient Unit at 8300 Constitution Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. FLOWERS, MARY LEE was born and raised in Amarillo, TX, but lived most of her life in Albuquerque, NM, where she and her husband, Tom Flowers, raised four children. They moved to Oregon in 1978, but returned to NM in 1989 due to Tom's illness. In 2005 she moved to Oklahoma City, where she passed away at age 88 on 4/26/13. She is survived by one sister, June Cox of Amarillo, TX; three children, James Flowers, of Clinton MD, Carol Flowers Terrell of Oklahoma City, and Philip Flowers of Bryan, TX and their spouses; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Tom, her parents, E.R. and Elva Cox, and one daughter, Mary Jane Flowers Kleinstiver. Memorial service was held in Oklahoma City on 4/27/13. Burial service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Moriarty, NM on 6/16/13 at 3:00pm.

EARNEST, REGINA ZUDICK September 9th, 1954- May 5th, 2013 Gina was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Thomas E. and Regina S. Zudick. She attended Highland High School, then the University of Albuquerque, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of New Mexico. She married Mark Earnest and lived in Austin, Texas for twelve years before returning to Albuquerque in 2003. Gina was young at heart, kind, and had many friends & acquaintances. She maintained her interests in jewelry making and the textile arts since her days in college. She was passionately involved in helping young people to perform with a puppet theater through the Christ The King Evangelical Church. The puppet shows were performed for the children of incarcerated women at prisons in New Mexico. In addition to her involvement in the arts and activities through her church, Gina was the location manager of an apartment complex for many years. She was looking forward to visiting a close friend in Florida this summer. She passed away unexpectedly on May 5th, 2013 at her family home in Albuquerque. She is survived by her brother Carter Zudick, two sisters: Claudia Z. Williamson and Cynthia Zudick; as well as her two nephews: Jesse Williamson and Wesley Williamson. Her family, friends, and co-workers will all miss her very much. Her family would like to thank her friends, acquaintances, and all of the people who have expressed their condolences and shared in our grief.

YELLOWHORSE, GLORIA JARNAGIN of Scottsdale, AZ, died on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th. Gloria will be greatly missed by her husband James Jarnagin; son Richard Jarnagin; daughter Kimberly Jarnagin; son-in-law Danny Sandoval; grandchildren, James Turberville, Curtis Jarnagin, Jonathan Jarnagin, Savannah Sheafe, Bronson Sheafe and Cheyenne Jarnagin; brothers, Frank Yellowhorse and John Yellowhorse; sisters, Mary Ann Brooks, Jane Yellowhorse Jones, Artie Yellowhorse, and Betty Yellowhorse; brother-in-law Dennis Jones; sisters-in-law Barbara Yellowhorse and Elsie Yellowhorse; nephew David Yellowhorse, wife Yazbah; nieces, Desiree Yellowhorse and Lei Lani Klutke; and many more nieces, nephews and extended family whom she loved dearly. Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter Amber Turberville, her father Arthur Beasley (hastiin tse nashii), mother Anna Marie Beasley and brothers Juan Yellowhorse and Shush Yellowhorse. Gloria was born on the Navajo reservation at Querino Canyon one of nine children. She attended St. Michaels Indian School and Sanders High School. She was an adventurous spirit who traveled throughout the country and overseas to England and China. Gloria lived in Arizona, Wyoming, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio and Maryland. She lived for five years in Turkey where her husband Jim worked for a large construction company. Gloria was married to her husband for forty-seven years and was a devoted homemaker. Gloria greatest passion was the Indian Jewelry business in all phases as silversmith, designer and salesperson. For the last twenty-five years of her life she traveled the east coast of the United States showing Yellowhorse Jewelry in many galleries, the Smithsonian, the Department of Interior Indian Crafts Shop and made many wonderful and lifelong friends. A Memorial Mass presided by Fr. Rafael Garcia SJ will be held at Immaculate Conception Church (619 Copper Avenue NW) in Albuquerque, NM on Friday, June 14th at 6:00pm and burial will take place on Saturday, June 15th Lupton, AZ (Fort Yellowhorse) at 2:00 pm. A reception following burial will be held at the home of John and Barbara Yellowhorse three miles west of Lupton on Old Highway Route 66.

DOSTER, DIANE FRANCES (CAMP) passed away in Mesa, AZ on June 4, 2013 of complications from pneumonia. She was born on July 24, 1942 in Chicago, IL. Diane faced a lifetime of medical and other challenges but kept her sense of humor throughout all of the difficulties that were placed in her path. She considered Albuquerque, NM her hometown but lived throughout the US as an adult. She had lived in Arizona for most of the last 11 years. Her parents, Lillian S. and Edgar W. Camp, preceded her in death. Her brother, Bill Camp and his wife, Linda Bobier, survive her. There will be a memorial service for Diane at Pinnacle Presbyterian Church, 25150 N Pima Rd, Scottsdale, AZ, at 3:00pm on Wednesday, June 12th. GALASSINI, LINCOLN LOUIE Coach Galassini, age 66, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013. He is survived by son, Joel Galassini and his wife, Lisa of San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren, Sarah, Elizabeth and Jonathan; his sister, Glenna Dvorak and husband, Ed Jr of Odessa, FL; special friends, Tony and Julie Pino of Albuquerque; and numerous other relatives and friends. Coach Galassini was preceded in death by his parents Janice and Louis Galassini. He was born in Bernalillo, NM in 1947 and graduated from St. Pius X High School, Class of 1965. He attended the University of Albuquerque where he received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting. Coach Galassini loved coaching and teaching and was basketball and baseball Coach at St. Pius X from 1971 to 1981. He then worked for Springer Building Materials which later became Western Mobile and then LaFarge up until his death. Coach Galassini spoke at numerous conferences for the building materials industry across the country. He was an avid golfer and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a loving father, grandfather and special friend to all who knew him and will be deeply missed. A Rosary will be recited Friday, June 7, 2013, 6:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Peter Lyle reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 8, 2013, 10:30 a.m., also at Our Lady of Fatima with Monsignor Francis X. Eggert, Celebrant. Cremation will follow and private interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
