Pacey -- Elizabeth Wood Pacey, 96, a resident of Albuquerque since 1942, passed away on January 23, 2001 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia P. Miller, in 1985. She is survived by her son-in-law, Donald D. Miller and his wife, Valerie of Ruidoso, NM; her granddaughter, Janelle Miller Johnson and husband, Phillip of Albuquerque; her grandson, Jay-Alan Miller of Rome, Italy; and her great-grandchildren, Cynthia Jennice & Jay Kory Johnson both of Albuquerque. Elizabeth was born in Anthony, Kansas and was a graduate of Emporia Teacher's College. She taught several adult education business courses in the early years of TVI and was a retired Federal Civil Service employee. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. in Carter Hall at La Vida Llena Retirement Center with Dr. Paul Debenport and The Reverend Carl Soderberg of First Presbyterian Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to either The Menaul School Foundation or to the First Presbyterian Church Sunbonnet Shop in Albuquerque. Patino -- Frank Patino, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, died Wednesday, January 24, 2001. He is survived by his daughters, Priscilla F. Bennett and husband, Arthur of Albuquerque and Loretta M. Lee of Hermiston, OR; son, Tom Baker and wife, Pat of Anaheim, CA; daughter-in-law, Alice Patino; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters and one son. Mr. Patino was a member of the Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Sunday, January 28, 2001, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 29, 2001, 9:30 a.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Monsignor Joaquin Bazan, Celebrant. Seddon -- Blanche Elizabeth Seddon ¯Betty¯, age 81, died Tuesday January 23, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 63 years; Roger Seddon; daughters, Debbie Martinez and husband, David, Carol Martinez and husband, John, Margo Seddon and friend, Susan Bonner all of Albuquerque; sister, Jane Martin of California; grandchildren, Brandon LePore, Marc LePore, Michelle LePore, JT Martinez, Jodi Martinez, Kimberly Martinez; and great-grand-daughter, Halo LePore all of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends. Betty was a partner with her husband, Roger in the operation of Seddon's Antiques, Albuquerque's first and finest Antique store. She worked in their antique shop for over 37 years. Betty was also an involved member of the American Business Women's Association. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 27, 11:00 a.m., at Aspen Funeral Alternatives Chapel, 1935 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE. Snyder -- Mary Jane (Temple) Snyder, age 72, of Steamboat Springs, CO and formerly of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2001 in the Porter Twp. Alexandria, PA. She was born on August 29, 1928 in Petersburg, PA. She was the daughter of the late Phillip Temple and Mrs. Bertha (Temple) Plymire who survives. Mary is also survived by her daughter, Beth Lucille Schulze of Wyalusing, PA; son, William Piper Spyker III of Steamboat Springs, CO; brothers, Samuel Temple of New Jersey and Phillip Temple of Missouri; she is also survived by two granddaughters. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2001 at Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Huntingdon, PA with the Rev. Father David J. Arseneault, Celebrant. Burial will be in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alexandria Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Stuetzer -- Otmar M. Stuetzer, 88, a resident of Albuquerque for 37 years, passed away January 20, 2001. His first wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Stuetzer, his son, Max Stuetzer, and his sister, Hildegard Nahrhaft preceded him in death. Otmar is survived by his wife, Ann L. Stuetzer; daughters, Irmgard Hudson and Irene Lewis; five grandchildren, Ray and Nancy Hudson, Andrea Graham, Heather Kenny and Michael Lewis; three great-grandchildren, Riley and Ryan Graham and Chad Kenny. Otmar was born April 30, 1912 in Nuremberg, Germany. He received his doctorates in physics and electrical engineering at the Munich Insitute of Technology, Germany. He was instrumental in the development of radar and microwave optics. Otmar came to the United States in 1945 where he worked at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, until 1955. He then joined General Mills, Minneapolis, MN where he was a project manager for the highest world record manned stratospheric balloon ascent. In 1963, Otmar joined Sandia National Laboratories where his work involved the protection of electronic systems in the harsh environment of space and nuclear radiation. He retired in 1977 but continued to be a consultant until 1998. he originated over 40 patents and published many technical articles for engineering and scientific journals. He was a member of AIAA, IEE as well as an American Physical Society Fellow. Memorial Services will be held at Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, January 27, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Stull -- Margaret "Peg" Stull, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, died Monday, January 22, 2001. She is survived by her son, Mark S. Stull and wife, Gina of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Bernadine Tally and husband, Mike of Sadiville, KY; grandson, Chris Sandoval and wife, Raeanne; great-grandsons, Aaron, Austin, Joel and Jeremy Sandoval, all of Albuquerque; and sisters, Lois Davis of South Williamsport, PA and Dede Reeser of Prattsburg, NY. Mrs. Stull collected dolls, she loved antique dolls and was also an avid gardener. Cremation has taken place and interment of cremains will be held Saturday, 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Pastor Clyde Stanfield officiating. Valdes -- Don Juan Valdes, age 67, of Las Cruces, died on January 22, 2001. Don was the older of two children of Epimenia"Epple" Mares and the late Johnnie Valdes and oldest grandchild of the late Juan B. and Dora Valdes. Don graduated from St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe in 1952. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. In 1958, Don Married Gloria A. Santamaria in Pasadena, CA. Don, who retired this past year, was most recently employed as a Property Administrator at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. Prior to that he had worked as a Purchasing Agent at NMSU and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Don is survived by his wife, Gloria; his son, Mark and wife, Patti Valdes of Albuquerque; his daughter, Lisa and husband, Ferdinand Tauscheck of Las Cruces; his mother, Eppie; and sister, Alice McKirnan of Santa Fe; three grandchildren, Tawny, Briana and Chad Tauscheck of Rowland Heights, CA; and niece, Michele Stone; and nephew, Michael McKirnan of Santa Fe; and numerous other friends and relatives. Cremation has taken place, and Don's remains will be interred at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in Fort Bliss, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.

Whorton -- Rachel S. Whorton, a resident of Albuquerque since 1987, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2001. Rachel was born in Las Vegas, NM on May 6, 1917, the daughter of Morris and Minnie Siegal. The Siegal's settled in Las Vegas in 1913 where they opened and operated a grocery and general merchandise store located on Lincoln Avenue. Rachel graduated with honors from Las Vegas High School, and earned a full scholarship to Denver University. After one quarter, she left school to return to Las Vegas to help her parents run the store. In 1937, she married Romayne¯Dick Whorton and in 1950, Rachel and Dick along with her father-in-law, R. L. Whorton, purchased the Siegal store and changed the name to Whorton's Food Market. They operated the store until 1970 when it was sold. Rachel continued her education at Highlands University and subsequently embarked on a second career as a financial advisor to individuals regarding savings and retirement programs. Rachel was a prominent member of the Las Vegas community, and was the first woman ever to be elected to the Las Vegas City Council. She was active in civic affairs and was a matron in the Las Vegas Chapter of Eastern Star. Rachel moved to Albuquerque in 1987 where she continued her career as a financial advisor until her retirement in 2000. Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, sister, Jean Mosko of Denver, CO and son, William Lee. She is survived by her brother, Art Siegal and wife, Alice of Seattle, WA; brother-in-law, Jack Whorton of New Orleans, LA; sons, Jerry and wife, Sandy of League City, TX, Donald and wife, Diana Obrinsky of Oakland, CA, Bob and wife, Juneen of Los Lunas, NM and David Whorton of Las Vegas, NM; eight grandchildren, Mandy Whorton and husband, Steve Jevins of Denver, CO, Kerry Whorton of San Francisco, CA, Mathew, Laura and Julie Whorton of Oakland, CA, Patrick, Casey and Kendall Whorton of Los Lunas, NM; and two great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Abilgail Whorton of Denver, CO. Services to celebrate Rachel's long and wonderful life will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Congregation Albert, 3800 Louisiana NE, with Rabbi Joseph Black officiating. Wilson -- Fred L. Wilson, age 82, passed away on January 23, 2001. Mr. Wilson was a Rio Rancho resident since 1991. He was born in Charleston, IL on December 26, 1918 to George W. and Ruth W. Wilson. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice J. Wilson and survived by children, William and wife, Maude of Rio Rancho, Sharon Wilson of Rio Rancho, Barbara Lumley and husband, Jim of Elephant Butte and Clovis, and Fred C. and wife, Janet of Albuquerque; brother, Roy K. Wilson of Georgia; sister, Helen M. Paull of Florida; grandchildren, Kelly Wilson, Michael and Michele Wood, Jimmy Wilson and wife, Rachel, Zachary, Shawn, Kyle and Rachel Wilson; and great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Wood; and great-grandson, James Wilson; and niece, Diane M. Paull of Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson were married in East Alton, MO on September 14, 1941. He earned his Bachelor of Education degree from Eastern Illinois University and his graduate work at the University of Illinois. He taught Industrial Arts at Arthur, IL 1950 - 1952 and worked as an Industrial Arts teacher, Guidance Counselor and Dean of Students at J. Sterling Morton High School In Berwyn, IL 1952-1975. He served as Athletic Instructor in the U.S. Navy 1943-1945. He served as Village Trustee and Mayor in North Riverside, IL 1956-1962. He owned and operated the Fred Wilson Golf Range 1957-1975. He also organized the Little League in Arthur and North Riverside, IL. In 1968, he and his wife went on a sabbatical leave to the Mexico City Olympics, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii. He retired in Albuquerque in 1975, and moved to Cochiti Lake, NM 1983-1991 after he suffered a stroke in 1979. even though he was paralyzed on the right side, he rode an electric wheelchair and led a busy productive life. He moved to Rio Rancho in 1991 just before his 50th wedding anniversary. He is admired for all of his hard work throughout the years and his devotion to his family and friends. He loved all kinds of sports and was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears. To our Dad and Grandpa, we will never forget your kind heart and devotion to your family. You learned early in life to never give up and always had a great smile for all you met. You have made the best of any situation and have lived your life as the person we all wish to strive to be. We love you and you will live on in our hearts and memories. A visitation for Fred will be held on Friday, January 26, 2001 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Rio Rancho Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. also in the Chapel of Rio Rancho Funeral Home with Allen Schauer as officiant.
