Lovato -- Frances Lovato, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, passed away Monday, January 29, 2001. She was a member of St. Therese Parish and a long time member of the Sacred Heart Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1986. Frances is survived by her children, Senovia Solano Gonzales, of Las Vegas, NM, Isidro Lovato and wife, Flora, of Gonzales Ranch, NM, Mary Cox, Louise Cox Garlock and husband, Bob, Livorio"Lee" Lovato and wife, Caroline, Anastacio Lovato and wife, Erlinda Ernestine Ortiz and husband, Nelson, Helen Valles, and John Lovato, all of Albuquerque. Her survivors also include 32 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great grandchildren. A viewing will take place on Thursday, February 1, 2001 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Fitzgerald Chapel, Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at St. Therese Church, 4th Ave NW and Mildred. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at St. Therese Church on Friday, February 2, 2001 followed by services and interment at the Gonzales Ranch Chapel Cemetery in Gonzales Ranch. Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors are in charge of her arrangements.

Lucero -- Rolando "Lonnie" Lucero, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, January 25, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lucero; parents, Gilbert and Camerina Lucero of Albuquerque; father-in-law, Keith Ralph Ludwig and mother-in-law, Carolyn Jean Rabine; sisters, Gloria Gene Leslie and husband, Michael of California, Rosemarie Sprick and husband, Gary, and Lorena Hungate and husband, Larry, all of Albuquerque; brothers-in-law, Jim Furiosi, Rodney Ludwig and Bret Ludwig: sisters-in-law, Cheri Ludwig, Tina Carter, and Deborah Hines; nieces and nephews, Mario Herrera, Maria Rake, Raymond Herrera, Danny McConnell, Christopher Leslie, Jennifer Sprick, Theresa Sprick, Angela Hungate, Deborah Sprick, Josh Hungate, Elliot Hungate, and Nathan Hungate; and several great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sister, Linda Furiosi. Lonnie graduated from Manzano High School in 1982, and served his county in the Air Force. He was an avid outdoorsman and balloonist. He never missed the Balloon Festival. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 31, 2001, 9:00 a.m, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 1800 Martha NE. Cremation has taken place.

Lutz -- Roy Lutz, 80, died suddenly on January 27, 2001. A citizen of Albuquerque since 1973, he was born in Kansas City on December 31, 1920. He served in the Army Signal Corps as a cryptographer in the South Pacific during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eunice; and their two sons, Douglas W. Lutz and Jeffrey S., Lutz, both of Albuquerque. Cremains will be interred in a private family service at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later time. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America Zia Chapter.

Mabray -- Don D. Mabray, M.D., 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, beloved husband, father and grandfather died Saturday, January 27, 2001. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn K. Mabray; sons, Dr. Craig Jay Mabray and wife, Karen and Christopher D. Mabray and fiancé, Emmaley Fitzgerald; two grandsons, Marc and Scott Mabray; and mother, Ida Marie Henry, all of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Shirley J. Mabray. Don was a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1946 and served his internship at Harris Hospital in Ft. Worth, TX. He attended Aviation Medical Examiners School, Aviation Physiology School, Flight Surgeons School and was then assigned to the 8th Air Force, 27th fighter group. After he was honorably discharged in 1949, he completed a one year residency in surgery in Des Moines, IA. He then practiced medicine in Lamar, CO for 5 1/2 years before moving to Albuquerque in 1956, where he practiced medicine until 1991. After retirement from private practice, he worked as the medical adjudicator for the VA until 1997. Don was former chief of staff of the Presbyterian Hospital Center (1967-68). He was a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practitioners, a member of the AMA, the New Mexico Medical Society, the Greater Bernalillo County Medical Society, the Temple Lodge #6, and the York Rite and Ballut Abyad Temple. Don had a good life in Albuquerque, loved fly fishing, gardening, art, reading, rock hounding, jewelry making, Indian artifacts and rugs. Services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. Private entombment will take place. Malkoski -- Stanley J. Malkoski, 75, a resident of Albuquerque for 11 years, died on Saturday, January 27, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Mark of Morenci, AZ, Tom and wife, Kris of Chicago, and Jim and wife, Denise of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Alex, Kaelyn, John, Mark and Lili; sister, Nellie of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts; sisters-in-law, Anne Parsons of Gilford, Barbara Mall of Columbia, MD and Mildred Malkoski of West Boyleston, MA; and by many nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by brothers Adolph, Vincent and Paul, brother-in-law, Robert Richardson, and parents, Ursula and Andrew Malkoski. He was born July 3, 1925 in Massachusetts and graduated from Worchester Classical High School in Worchester, MA in 1943. Upon graduation, Stanley enlisted in the United States Army and served his country in Europe during World War II. When the war ended, Stanley attended radio school in Boston and became a radio technician at WLNH radio station in Laconia, New Hampshire. There he met Dorothy Richardson, whom he married on October 16, 1948. Stanley and Dorothy were blessed with the births of three sons. After five years at WLNH Stan was employed for sixteen years, primarily as a machine designer, at Scott and Williams in Laconia, New Hampshire. In 1969 he became a machine designer for Allen Rogers, also in Laconia, and retired in 1985. Stanley and Dorothy moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1990. Stanley's hobbies included mineralogy, photography and sculpting. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2001 at The Meadows Clubhouse, 7112 Pan American Freeway NE. Mayhew -- James Paul Mayhew passed away on Friday, January 26, 2001, one month shy of his 91st birthday. He was born on February 26, 1910 in New Brighton, PA, the third of four sons to Noah and Zada Mayhew. Mr. Mayhew grew up in East Palestine, OH and served in WWII in the US Army as a Military Policeman. He came to Albuquerque after the war and was employed at Baldridge Lumber and Home Builder's Supply, until his retirement. Mr. Mayhew enjoyed dancing, bridge, playing pool and was an avid baseball fan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Winnie, in 1986. Mr. Mayhew is survived by his brother, William Mayhew and wife, Dorothy of Vallejo, CA; his nephews, Gary Mayhew of Albuquerque, Robert Mayhew and wife, Marylou of Santa Fe and Jonathan Mayhew and wife, Barbara of McLean, VA; nieces, Debbe Noto of San Francisco, CA and Patti Winkler of Vallejo, CA; numerous great-nephews and great-nieces, including Michael and Vicki Mayhew of Albuquerque; and many friends. Memorial services will be held Sunday, February 4, at 3:00 p.m., at St. Mark's-On-The-Mesa Episcopal Church, 431 Richmond NE. Mcdonald -- Guillermo McDonald passed away while visiting his family in Lima, Peru. He died on January 13, 2001 after a short illness. Mr. McDonald, a well known artist from Peru, came to Albuquerque in 1960 where he earned his masters degree from the UNM. He and his wife operated an art gallery for many years. His wife, Sylvia Bootzen McDonald, preceded him in death. He is survived by three nieces; and a sister-in-law who live in Peru. There will be a Memorial Service at St. Bernadette Church 11401 Indian School Rd. NE 9:00 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2001.

Miller -- Viola Miller, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2001. She is survived by her dear friend, Bill Boswell of Albuquerque. Mrs. Miller was a member of Heights First Church of the Nazarene, and an auxiliary charter member. She was also a member of the Gideons Society. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul NE, with Rev. Bill Nielson officiating. Entombment will follow at Chester T. Power -- Ruth Cecilia Power, 87, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, January 26, 2001. She was born on April 3, 1913 in Boston, MA. She was the daughter of Daniel S. and Annie MacDonald. She graduated from St. Clement High School in West Somerville, MA. She studied at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. Ruth was honored for her fifty years as a member of the Board of Registered Laboratory Technologist. She worked at the Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA, Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester, MA and Lovelace Clinic in Albuquerque. Ruth was a member of the Womens Guild of Our Lady of Annunciation Church in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Power, and two children, Anthony Power and Eileen Power Davis. She is survived by her daughter, AnneNancy Parsons and her husband, Aylmer, of Whitehouse Station, NJ; son, Donald A.M. Power and his wife, Vicki of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren, Jackie Parsons Owen, Karen Parsons Penird, Tom Craig, and Stewart Parsons, Jonathan and Jessica Davis, Daniele Davis Donatelli, and Ian, Megan, and Kevin Power; and eight great-grandchildren. Friends may visit on Friday, February 2, 2001 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. N.E. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be recited on Saturday, February 3, 2001, 9:00 a.m. at the Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas N.E. on the UNM campus. Rodgers -- Jesse Edwin Rodgers was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 28, 2001. He was born on May 12, 1913 in Arkansas, and moved to Loving, New Mexico in 1934. He worked as a farm laborer until he moved to Albuquerque in 1953. He worked as a house mover, and retired as a school custodian for APS in 1980. He was a member of Sandia Baptist Church. During his lifetime he read the Bible through several times. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Rodgers, and by his sister, Sibyl Faihtinger. He is survived by his wife, Opal Fern Morlan, whom he married in 1971; his brothers, Bill and wife, Della of Azle, TX, Benny and wife, Jean and Jim and wife, Pat, all of Albuquerque; eight nephews; and six nieces. Services will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Dr. Bob Butler officiating. Private interment will take place. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
