Denton -- Adah Marie Shelton Denton, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, October 12, 2002. She was born on October 2,1917. Adah is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Francis Chandler Denton. She is also survived by her daughter, Dianne; son-in-law, Terry Summers; two grandsons, Timothy and Chad; sister, Genevieve Mills of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews. Adah worked as a paralegal for 51 years, retiring at the age of 81. She was a chartered member and past President of Quota Club International. She shared a love of travel with her family. Eberhard -- Betty K. Eberhard, 44, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, October 14, 2002. She is survived by her mother, Gertrude Robertson of Laguna; three sons, Frank T. Hughey and wife, Lisa, Stephan J. Eberhard and Jason E. Eberhard, all of Albuquerque; grandson, Thomas Xavier Hughey; sister, Victoria Wessel of California; brothers, Timothy L. Hughey of California and William C. Fine of Albuquerque; and sister, Norma J. Milton and husband, Bob of Tennessee. Betty attended Faith Bible Church. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at Faith Bible Church, 9600 Central SE, with Pastor David Broersma officiating. Galligan -- Elizabeth"Bunny" Eberhart Galligan, 92, passed away October 14, 2002. She is survived by her brother Richard G. Eberhart, her children, Elizabeth Ann Galligan, Suzanne Eberhart Galligan and her husband Charles Peet, and Patrick Gregory Galligan, grandchildren, Mia, Elena, and Mark Maes, Gregory and Geoffrey Scheib, and Rory and Gerald Galligan; and great-grandchildren Christian Maes, Cheyenne Brooks, and Merritt Blankenau. Preceding her in death were her parents, Alpha LaRue Eberhart and Lena Lowenstein Eberhart; her brother, Alpha Dryden Eberhart; and her beloved husband, Gerald Gregory Galligan. Elizabeth was born in Austin, MN on January 31, 1910 where she spent her early childhood years before attending boarding school at Ward Belmont in Nashville, TN. She attended high school in Evanston, IL at New Trier and was graduated from Northwestern University with a double major in Sociology and Psychology. She had many exciting stories of her experiences in Chicago during the 30's. Her post-graduate work was done at St. Louis University in Oklahoma where she met her husband of 30 years, Gerald. They were married on April 2, 1938 and honeymooned at a resort in the high mountain canyon of El Porvenir, NM. Fond memories of that time led them to return to NM in 1950 where they established homes in Farmington and Albuquerque as well as at"the ranch" in the very canyon of El Porvenir. She worked professionally for nearly 40 years was a caseworker, served as the first recreation director for Bernalillo County, and worked with both the Campfire Girls and Girl Scouts of America. Over the years, she volunteered for the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Barrett House, and was active with the Catholic Church parishes in each community in which she resided. Elizabeth greatly enjoyed her life. She was an accomplished artist, a sophisticated hostess known for her gracious hospitality and most of all for her famous Easter egg hunts. She was able to travel almost anywhere in the U.S. and find loving friends to visit among them, friends from her college sorority, Alpha Phi, from whom she received her much loved 50-year pin. Until recently, she shared these details of her life through written correspondence with her lifelong friends, regularly sending up to ten letters a day. Her grace, dignity, eloquence, and stature will indeed be missed. Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont NE, October 18, 2002, 8:30 a.m. Please join in honoring Elizabeth at a gathering hosted by her family immediately following Mass at 1845 Calle los Vecinos NW. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Martin's Hospitality Center or any other social service agency of your choice. Burial will take place in El Porvenir, NM.

Gutierrez -- Hilario Gutierrez, known as Lalo, Larry and Grandpa, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2002 in Albuquerque. Lalo is survived by his daughter, Vicki Gutierrez-Vallejos and husband, Larry; mother, Hericelda Gutierrez Silva; sister, Cecilia Mirabal; brother, Edward Gutierrez and wife, Ruth; longtime companion, Elsie Madrid and her family, Ronny, Beatrice, Debbie, Angela, Jeanette, Crystal and Patricia; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; God daughter, Cynthia Torres; nephew, Ray Gutierrez, and many other nieces and nephews, family and friends in Albuquerque and Valencia County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tomasita. Services will be held at San Jose Catholic Parish, 2401 Broadway Blvd SE. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 17, 2002, at 7:00pm. A Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 18, 2002, at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Gutierrez -- Maria"Mary" Gutierrez, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, October 13, 2002. She is survived by her brother, Sigifredo Bustos and wife, Selestina of Texas; daughters, Eloisa Lucero and husband, Tony of Albuquerque, Alicia Hughes and husband, Pete of San Acacia, Maria Padilla and husband, Carlos of Espanola and Santa Jeffers and husband, Chester of Albuquerque; son, Modesto Gutierrez and wife, Meg of Rio Rancho; grandchildren, Brenda Hughes, Rosemary Connor, Doreen Romero, Mary Frances Jeffers, Denise Padilla, Joaquin Gutierrez and Christofor Jeffers; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gutierrez was preceded in death by her husband, Modesto Gutierrez; daughters, Isabel Gutierrez and Luisa Gutierrez. She was a member of the Rio Grande Presbyterian Church. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna Rd. Harms -- Rachel L. Harms, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, October 13, 2002. Jojola -- Justin A. Jojola, 21, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM, died unexpectedly in a car accident, Saturday, October 12, 2002. He is survived by his mother, Phyllis and husband, Chris Marquez of Albuquerque; father, Joe A. Jojola of Albuquerque; brother, Aaron Jojola and wife, Felicia of Albuquerque; maternal grandparents, John and Ida Mae Garcia of Albuquerque; paternal grandparents, Mary Jojola of Albuquerque and Leandro Jojola of Socorro; daughter, Payden Nichole Pyron of Glendale, GA; and nephew, Estevan Jojola of Albuquerque. Justin was a 1999 graduate of Manzano High School. He was in the Air Force, stationed at Holloman Air Force Base, Alamogordo, NM. Justin was a thoughtful and caring son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and cousin. Justin was an avid football and sports fan who loved cars. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 17, 2002, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Kuchar -- In Loving Memory of WAYNE E. KUCHAR December 5, 1932 - October 15, 2002What could be better than living sixty-nine years in this great country? His wife and children.Wayne E. Kuchar, 69, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, died on the 15th day of October, 2002 at Presbyterian Hospital after a courageous battle against malignant melanoma. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Helen C. Kuchar; and four children, daughter, Cecile Minnich (BS, Registered Dietitian, MA Healtchcare Administration) and husband, Scott Minnich, (DDS and Col. U.S. Army, RET); grandson, Jeff of Colorado Springs, CO; son, Ken Kuchar (BSEE and Director at a major semiconductor manufacturer) and wife, Carrie; grandson, Jace of Austin, TX; son, Brian Kuchar (Best damn Delivery Driver in Albuquerque) and wife, Faith of Albuquerque, NM; and daughter, Christine Brown (MA Educational Psychology) and husband, Bill Brown (BS Archaeology) of Ann Arbor, MI. He is also survived by his brothers and their families, Ken Kuchar (BS Pharmacy) and wife, Eleanor in Ontario, CA, and their four children, Marvin Kuchar (Ph.D. in Chemistry) and wife, Unie in Provo, UT and their six children, William Kuchar, MD and wife, Cynthia Kuchar in Santa Fe, NM and two children; stepbrother, Carl Wheeler (BA Education) and wife, Verla Wheeler, in Safford, AZ and four children; stepsister, Betty Jean Lawrence (BA Education) and husband, Bud Lawrence of May's Lick, KY; first cousins, Milton Wojtylka in Casper, WY, Sister Ann, David Wojtylka in Pueblo, CO., and Anita Louise Warren of St. Johns, AZ. Wayne was born in the small mining town of Gilman, CO and spent his very early years in the mining towns of Redcliff, Telluride, Silverton and Trinidad, Co., and Ash Peak, AZ. His father, William Kuchar was appointed Deputy State Mine Inspector for Arizona and Wayne and his three surviving brothers and stepbrother and stepsister completed grade school and high school in Southern AZ then each went on to earn college degrees. Wayne has always been proud of his humble roots and upbringing where he and his brothers never learned the meaning of the word"quit". Even though their father died when they were young their mother, Katherine, worked as a cook and waitress to keep the home their dad had built and provide for their children. Wayne and his brothers worked any job available when they were growing up, from picking cotton to delivering newspapers and loading crop duster airplanes before school. After graduating from the University of California in 1958, Wayne went to work for Boeing where he worked in the design and testing of gas turbine engines. He remembers those early days where some spectacular engine failures occurred and he helped determine the failure causes and fixes. In 1961, he worked for FMC Corp., Ordnance Div. on a missile controlled launcher system. Later, one of his proudest achievements was working on the APOLLO Program where he was responsible for the structural analysis and vibration testing of the Apollo High Gain Antenna for a subcontractor to North American Aviation from 1965 through 1972. He moved to Albuquerque in 1972 to work for The BDM Corporation. At BDM he was proud to have worked with some fine people on a wide range of projects from structural analysis of EMP structures at KAFB, covert programs with the government; including the B2 Airplane, automobile air bag assembly lines, weapons analysis and testing, nuclear programs, the ARGUS Program at KAFB and others. After he retired in 1995, he pursued his favorite hobby, fly fishing, until his death. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Chapel of Sandia, 7601 Wyoming Boulevard NE. Services will be heldat 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2002 at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Boulevard NE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by patients and their families. McSorley-Morgan -- Virginia McSorley-Morgan, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since the 1940s, died Sunday, October 13, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Joe McSorley and State Senator Cisco McSorley and wife, Joanne Kuestner, all of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Eloesa McSorley of Albuquerque but attending Wellesley College and Meaghan McSorley of Albuquerque; sister, Rosemary Meehan and husband, John of Rockville Centre, NY; and brothers, John Norton and wife, Jane of Long Island, NY and Jim Norton of Long Beach, NY. Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her first husband, Major Frank N. McSorley and second husband, John Morgan; sons, John McSorley and Richard McSorley. She received her Master Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. Virginia worked as a teacher in addition to being a wife and mother. She was Director of Catholic Social Services in Albuquerque and Director of Medical Social Services at St. Joseph's Hospital. Virginia volunteered for various charities and religious organizations including the St. Vincent De Paul Society and Peace and Social Justice. She traveled extensively to Asia, the Middle East, Central America, South America and Europe. Virginia loved to play the piano. She sponsored many Cuban and Vietnamese refugees. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 1:30 p.m., at the Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Rd. NE, with Father Robert J. Keller, O.P., Celebrant. Pallbearers will be Joe McSorley, Cisco McSorley, Eloesa McSorley, Don Schubert, Robert Flanagan and Tom McTigue. Honorary Pallbearer will be her Godson, Richard Marlborough.
