Cole -- Rowena Bass Cole passed away October 10, 2002. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, October 21, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church. Denton -- Adah Marie Shelton Denton, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, October 12, 2002. She was born on October 2,1917. Adah is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Francis Chandler Denton. ¯She is also survived by her daughter, Dianne; son-in-law, Terry Summers; two grandsons, Timothy and Chad; sister, Genevieve Mills of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews. Adah worked as a paralegal for 51 years, retiring at the age of 81. She was a chartered member and past President of Quota Club International. She shared a love of travel with her family. Fermin -- John Enriquez Fermin, 48, a much-beloved resident of Albuquerque since 1995, died Monday, October 14, 2002, after suffering a brain hemorrhage on Friday, October 11. We will all cherish John's memory as an exceptional friend, a gifted social leader, a futurist who loved history, a world-class salesman and masterful business leader, a superb political strategist, a talented photographer and self-described"audiophile," an entertaining conversationalist, and a radiant and beloved soul whose positive energy, love and compassion, creative brilliance and rare genius had healing and life-transforming impacts on literally hundreds of us who proudly call ourselves his Companions. John was born July 14, 1954, in San Francisco, California. After graduating as both Valedictorian and Class President from Berkeley High School in 1971, John earned his bachelor's in political science and psychology from Antioch College in just three years. John was also an"A" Debater in the National Forensic League from 1969 to 1974, and in 1970 was Northern California State Champion. John also attended Drake Law School. In 1973, John authored the U.S. Air Force-sponsored book"Blind Veterans of the Vietnam War." In Iowa in 1974, John began his highly successful 27-year career in sales and marketing management; three years in Iowa; 19 years in California; and five years in Albuquerque. In 1994, John ran for Congress in San Diego. John is survived by his father and mother, James Monterey Fermin and Consolacion Enriquez Fermin, of Berkeley, California; by his brothers, Mike and Frank; and by his son, Robert. A Memorial Service will be held to honor John Fermin and celebrate his life today, Friday, October 18, 2002, at 3:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3300 Carlisle Blvd. NE, with the Reverend Billy Cawley officiating.

Gregory -- Philo Mae"Phil" Gregory, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Wednesday, October 16, 2002. She was born January 10, 1918 in Hagerman, NM. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold J. Gregory; children, Phyllis Anne Merritt and husband, Jack T., of Waco, TX, Judith Marie Littleton and husband, James, of Silver City, NM and James Lawrence Gregory and wife, Megan, of Mule Creek, NM; grandchildren, Gregory Scott and Travis Adam Merritt and David Judson and Meghan Kathleen Gregory; brothers, Karl D. Newsom and wife, Elease of Camaron, MO, Gary Van Newsom and wife, Eva, of Crystal River, FL, George L. Newsom and wife, Belva, of Woodland Park, CO and Charles E. Newsom and wife, Carol, of Billings, MT and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Mrs. Gregory attended Mary Hardin Baylor College in Belton, Texas. She taught Literary Missions for 30 years, tutoring adult reading and writing, ESL and Citizenship. Mrs. Gregory served as Central Association Woman's Missionary Union Director and was active in Missions Education Support. She was also active in the Home Extension Club. Mrs. Gregory was an excellent seamstress and creative artist, including quilting, weaving, woodcarving, silversmithing, needlework and painting. She traveled with Friendship Force International to several countries. Mrs. Gregory was a member of Sandia Baptist Church. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Sandia Baptist Church, 9429 Constitution Ave. NE with Dr. Robert J. Butler officiating. Harms -- Rachel L. Harms, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, October 13, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Maynard Toensing and wife, Judith of Albuquerque, Clayton Toensing and wife, Anne of Bellview, WA and Gene Toensing of Albuquerque; daughters, Carolyn Homp and husband, Philip of Wisconsin and Gloria Krebs and husband, Jacob of Denver, CO; stepdaughters, Claudia Weber and husband, Ron of Edgewood, Tammy Garcia and husband, George and Rhonda Gonzales and husband, Ron, all of Albuquerque; stepsons, Michael Harms and wife, Stephanie of Clayton, CA, Monte Harms and wife, Rose of Albuquerque and Irwin Harms and wife, Debbie of Tijeras; 23 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Wolff of Phoenix, AZ and Marguerite Rooney and husband, John of Minneapolis, MN; and brother, Robert Krug and wife, Arline of Litchfield, MN. Mrs. Harms was preceded in death by her husband, Courtney Harms; sister, Charlotte Halverson; and brother, Ralph Krug. Herrera -- Dominic James Herrera, 26, a resident of Albuquerque passed away Wedsnesday, October 16, 2002. Dominic was preceded in death by his father, Bernardo Herrera. He is survived by his mother, Judith R. (Padilla) Herrera; one brother, Bernardo Chris Hererra and wife, Darlene; sister, Romona E. Montoya and husband, Davy; his love of his life, Nicole Molinas. Also surviving is his uncle and aunt Cecil and Pauline Padilla; and his good step-father Miguel Duran; one nephew, Manuel Montoya, two nieces Tiffany Montoya and Miranda Montoya. The visitations will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary 8th and Iron and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. also at the Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Ascension. Lenz -- Raymond E. Lenz departed his life 14 October 2002. He was born in Beatrice, Nebraska, 17 June 1922. His parents were Edward and Elnora Lenz. Raymond attended public schools in Beatrice and graduated from Beatrice High School in June 1940. One of his hobbies was photography and he was snapshot editor for the high school yearbook. He was also a member of the school newspaper staff. Raymond was one of the school's representatives to Boys' State. His Nebraska Guard unit (Company C) was mobilized in December 1940 and was attached to the 35th Infantry Division. He transferred to the Army Air Corp and served in the Pacific, African, and China Burma theaters. He had 144 missions flying the"Hump." Raymond was returned to the States after being injured in a plane crash. He then flew foreign ferry duty. Raymond was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal w/Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, and Joint Service Commendation Medal. After discharge from the Army in Sept 1945, Raymond attended the University of Nebraska (majoring in Electrical Engineering), when he received notice to return to the Service for the Berlin Airlift. He then became a career military man and after retirement he continued as a computer design specialist for the computers at the Combat Operations Center, HQ NORAD. Raymond married his high school classmate Sept 11, 1944. Survivors include his wife, Catharine; and five children, Susan Alarid of Albuquerque, Michael Lenz and wife, Danella of Aurora, CO, Virginia Lenz of Albuquerque, Margaret Bovie and husband, David of Colorado Springs, CO and Barbara Lenz of Albuquerque; six grandchildren, Jason and Michelle Alarid, Brent and Jeannette Lenz, and Timothy and Elizabeth Bovie. Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3 Blocks N. of Paseo del Norte.) Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St. NW. Littlejohn -- Jackie Littlejohn lifetime metaphysician, healer and medicine woman passed away after succumbing to breast cancer. Her career encompassed teaching high school English and Modern Philosophy in Espanola, NM in the 1960s to creating the position of Native American liaison to the Phoenix Union High School System during the late 70s and 80s. Jackie's psychic abilities placed her in the public eye on Unsolved Mysteries and on ABQ radio station 94 Rock. Jackie often helped families with missing person cases. She has been working with the Blue Eagle Book Store in Albuquerque for the past 15 years in the capacity of medicine woman and psychic. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, October 20, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at First Church of Religious Science, 3320 San Pedro NE, Albuquerque. Martinez -- Mrs. Rosa L. Martinez, 83 a resident of Albuquerque passed away on October 17, 2002 peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family. Mrs. Martinez is survived by one daughter, Gloria Smith and husband, Frank; two sons, Larry Martinez and wife, Rachel, Anatacio Martinez and wife, Kelly; two brothers, Dan Lueras and David Lueras; four sisters, Sene Zamora, Enacia Verdugo, Isabell Portio and Feliz Baltas; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Martinez is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Martinez; three sons, Max, Santiago and Junior Martinez. Mrs. Martinez lived 83 years to the fullest. If she wasn't inside caring for her plants then you would find her outside enjoying her flowers in the sunshine. Grandma Rosa, you will be missed greatly by the"little ones" you brought so much joy to and the many hearts you touched. Mrs. Martinez was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation will be Friday evening after 6:30 p.m. at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 Plaza NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be Saturday morning in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Leo Martinez, Patricia Martinez, Reyes Varela, Fernando Varela, Daniel Martinez and George Romero. McSorley-Morgan -- Virginia McSorley-Morgan, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since the 1940s, died Sunday, October 13, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Joe McSorley and State Senator Cisco McSorley and wife, Joanne Kuestner, all of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Kathryn McSorley of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Eloesa McSorley of Albuquerque but attending Wellesley College and Meaghan McSorley of Albuquerque; sister, Rosemary Meehan and husband, John of Rockville Centre, NY; and brothers, John Norton and wife, Jane of Long Island, NY and Jim Norton of Long Beach, NY. Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her first husband, Major Frank N. McSorley and second husband, John Morgan; sons, John McSorley and Richard McSorley. She received her Master Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. Virginia worked as a teacher in addition to being a wife and mother. She was Director of Catholic Social Services in Albuquerque and Director of Medical Social Services at St. Joseph's Hospital. Virginia volunteered for various charities and religious organizations including the St. Vincent De Paul Society and Peace and Social Justice. She traveled extensively to Asia, the Middle East, Central America, South America and Europe. Virginia loved to play the piano. She sponsored many Cuban and Vietnamese refugees. Mass was celebrated Thursday, 1:30 p.m., at the Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Rd. NE, with Father Robert J. Keller, O.P., Celebrant. Pallbearers will be Joe McSorley, Cisco McSorley, Eloesa McSorley, Don Schubert, Robert Flanagan and Tom McTigue. Honorary Pallbearer will be her Godson, Richard Marlborough. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
