Harper -- Madge Palmer Harper, age 82, died Monday, January 27, 2003 in Albuquerque. Mrs. Harper was born Madge Lorene Palmer to James H. and Mildred P. Palmer on May 4, 1920 in North Belle Vernon, PA. As a child, she lived in North Belle Vernon, PA, Los Angeles, CA, and Rochester, PA. She graduated valedictorian of Rochester High School in 1938, was editor of the school paper and a member of the swimming and basketball teams. She graduated from Cornell University in 1942 where she was the women's editor of the yearbook, the president of the French Club, a member of two honorary societies, a member of the Women's Self Government Association, and a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She worked as a Spanish-English executive secretary in Mexico City in 1942 and 1943 and for the Consul General of Venezuela in New York City, receiving a medal from the Venezuelan Government. She married Ashby Taylor Harper on March 25, 1944 in Pensacola, FL. In 1945 and 1946, she worked at the Institute of Advanced Study in Princeton, NJ and as a spanish-English interpreter for the United Nations in New York City. In 1947 Mr. and Mrs. Harper moved to Quito, Ecuador where they both taught at the Colegio Americano de Quito. The Harpers later resided in Lima, Peru, St. Louis, MO where Mrs. Harper taught Spanish and Mr. Harper was Headmaster at the St. Louis Country Day School, and Guatemala City, Guatemala where her husband was the first Director of the Peace Corps. In 1964, they moved to Albuquerque where Mr. Harper accepted the position as Headmaster of the Albuquerque Academy. Madge's quiet devotion to her family, her husband, and the Albuquerque Academy will remain a light to us all. Mrs. Harper is survived by son, Frederick Taylor Harper and wife, Donna; and son, David Palmer Harper, all of Albuquerque; daughter, Margie Harper Reber and husband, John Reber of Cherry Hill, NJ; grandchildren, Cody Taylor Harper, Lyndsay Elisabeth Harper and Lance Maurer, all of Albuquerque, and Ashley Taylor Reber and Alex John Reber, both of Cherry Hill, NJ. Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband, Ashby in 1992, son, Richard Ashby Harper in 1981, and brother, James Palmer. A Final Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Chapel of Sandia with Dr. Paul Debenport of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Kerns -- Loving wife and mother, Tabitha Kerns, 28, and beloved daughter and sister, Breana Rachael Kerns, 4, died Tuesday, January 28, 2003. Klein -- Darcie Klein, (Dena Epstein), 38, of Brooklyn, New York, formerly of Albuquerque passed away Friday, January 24, 2003 after a long battle with cancer. The Funeral was held on Friday, January 24, 2003 at Shomrei Hadas in Brooklyn, NY. Dena and her husband ran the Chabad Welcome Center in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, NY. Dena was the daughter of Reva Klein and the late Irving Klein, M.D., formerly of Albuquerque. She was the wife of Beryl Epstein, and was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Yosef, 13, Chaya 10, and Mendel 5. She is survived by her mother, Reva Klein; brother, Steven; and sister, Andrea of Monsey, NY; her brother, Kenneth of RI; brother, William of Manhattan; and sister, Traci Klein Pelletier of Albuquerque. Kriz -- Henry Quintana, Age 28, a resident of La Puebla passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 following injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. Musgrove -- Alice Lorene Musgrove, age 90, passed away Monday evening, January 20, 2003, at Valle Norte Caring Center, with her family at her side. Alice is the beloved mother of Nancy Mandell"Sister Anne" of Lexington, KY, Marti Butler and fiancé, Marv Mohr of Albuquerque, Dorothy Stevenson and husband, Allen of Grand Junction, CO, and step-daughter, Barbara Widhalm and husband, Dale of Bella Vista, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Richard L. (Dick) Musgrove, in 1987. Together they were the beloved"Nana and Poppie" to 15 grandchildren; and"Grand-Nana" to 19 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Alice was a member of the Anglican Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 31, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Anglican Church located at the Northwest corner of Paseo del Norte and Eubank, with Father John Noel as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro, NE. Myers -- Andy Lee Myers, 38, a resident of the area since 1976 and most recently of Moriarty since 1989, beloved son, brother, father and friend, died Tuesday, January 28, 2003. He is survived by his mother, Patsy Myers of Moriarty; father, Kenneth Myers of Albuquerque; sisters, Georgia Bonnell and husband, George of Alamogordo and Trudy Whitley and husband, Stewart of Albuquerque; brothers, Mike Myers and wife, Rebecca of Cedar Crest and Kenne Myers of Albuquerque; son, Garrett Wortham Myers of Albuquerque; and numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Andy liked to hunt, fish and hike. He was a great athlete playing football and baseball as a child, and excelling in high school football at Valley High School. Andy was an artist and carved. He was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed many things. Andy will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Cremation and private disposition have taken place. Panagakos -- Irene Panagakos, born in Yerma, Mani, Greece on February 17, 1904, emigrated to this country in 1916. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pierre Panagakos in 1965. They were married in 1924. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Philoptohos Society. Irene is survived by her son, Anthony Panagakos of Albuquerque; grandson, Peter Panagakos and wife, DeDe of Rio Rancho; granddaughter, Koren and husband, Ken Walston of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Brandon Panagakos of Rio Rancho; sister, Pat Frangias of Ridgecrest, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The St. George Greek Orthodox Church. A Trisagion Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2003 in Fern Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Pascetti -- Silas"Tom" Pascetti, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Mary Pascetti of Albuquerque; two sons, Charles Pascetti and wife, Judy of Albuquerque and David Pascetti and wife, Leta of Rio Rancho; two daughters, Marianne Maddaleni and husband, Jeff of Albuquerque and Theresa Rasbeck and husband, Larry of Edgewood; eight grandchildren, Brian and Renee Pascetti, Nick Pascetti, Sarah Tallent, Mark Maddaleni, Andrea Maddaleni, Jacob Rasbeck, Rebecca Rasbeck; one great-grandchild, Damon Tallent; brothers, Jack Pascetti of Cimarron, NM, Melio Pascetti of Albuquerque, Angelo Pascetti of Leadville, CO, John Pascetti of Raton, NM and Valentino Pascetti of Oceanside, CA; and one sister, Carmen Lozano of Albuquerque. Mr. Pascetti was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved camping and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He worked as a grocery store manager for many years. Mr. Pascetti was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Friday, January 31, 2003, at 12:30 p.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, followed by a Mass to be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., also at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, with Father Michael Cimino, Celebrant. Sexton -- Col. Robert Curtis Sexton, Retired USAF, age 89, passed away January 25, 2003, at the Montebello Health Care Center in Albuquerque, where he had been a resident since 1997. He was born October 6, 1913 to Dr. Troy Curtis and Lena Broaddus Sexton in Las Cruces, NM. He attended New Mexico Military Institute and New Mexico State University, graduating in Electrical Engineering. He married Mary Carolyn Moesta December 28, 1937. He entered the Army Air Corps and completed flight school, beginning a 30 year career in the Air Force. He was a pilot during WWII and retired in Albuquerque in 1963. He worked for the City of Albuquerque in the Dept. of Environmental Health. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Sexton; daughters, Carol Bradley (Mitchell) of Heathsville, VA and Susan McNeil (Douglas) of Salt Lake City, UT; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
