CORKRAN -- Mrs. Alberta J. Corkran passed away Saturday, February 7, 2004, in Albuquerque. Alberta was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Ray R. Corkran in March of 2001. Alberta was born Alberta Jean Headley in Smith Center, Kansas on January 9, 1915. She and Ray met while attending UNM and were longtime residents of Albuquerque. Alberta worked at Sandia National Lab for many years and upon their retirement, she and Ray enjoyed extensive travel throughout the world. Alberta is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Rajeane and J.T. Jack and Nan and Jay Hamner, both of Albuquerque; two grand-daughters and their husbands, Kristy and Rick Waldraff and Kara Lea and Steve Nixon, both of Abilene, Texas; one grandson and his wife, Jim and Kimberly Jack, of Arlington, Texas; seven great grandchildren; and an extended family of friends. Alberta's family expresses heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Harold (Trish) Davis for her professional expertise, loving care, and friendship. A private family service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park. GALUSHA -- Mabel Margaret Galusha, age 90, and a longtime resident of Albuquerque from 1926 to 1989, died Thursday, February 5, 2004 in Phoenix, Arizona. She is survived by her daughter, Agnes Berdahl of Phoenix, AZ; son, Ray Galusha and wife, Barbara of Seattle, WA; two sisters-in-law, Marie and Lola Adams; four grandchildren, Robert Berdahl, Corey Galusha, Sue Graves and husband, Patrick, and Karen Galusha; one great-granddaughter, Allie Graves; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mabel served many years doing work for the Baptist Convention. She served as a dietician for The Baptist Camp for many years. Mabel worked with the youth at Highland and Hoffmantown Baptist Church for many years as well. She also served as President of Osteopathic Hospital Guild. GARCIA -- Tommie Garcia, 73, a life long resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, February 5, 2004. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Joe Garcia of Albuquerque; daughter, Cecelia Patricia Klieaslima and husband, Ray of Corpus Christi, TX; son, Jimmy Lee Garcia and wife, Lorraine Rita of Albuquerque; 5 grandchildren, Anthony and Ramona Jaramillo, Desiray and Nicole Trujillo and Cynthia Baca; 3 great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Rsaiah Trujillo and Jasmine Baca; sister, Rose Lewis; and brother-in-law, John Jojola. Tommie was a member of San Ignacio Catholic Church. She worked for Albuquerque Public Schools for 20 years before retiring. Tommie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be greatly missed. Services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Deacon Pilar Garcia officiating. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. GREASER -- Rose Marie Greaser,79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1999 passed away on February 7, 2004. She is survived by her sons, Bill Greaser and wife, Melanie of Amarillo, TX and Dwayne Greaser and wife, Mackie of Albuquerque; daughters, Linda Bianchi and husband, Mike of Las Cruces and Pam Beets and Jimmy of Columbia, IL; sisters, Goldie Woods of Arkansas, Odessa Gigante of Albuquerque and Ruby Gigante of Raton; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Marie was a member of Taylor Ranch Baptist Church. Marie was a former member of the Scotsdale Baptist Church in El Paso where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years . She was a loving mother and homemaker. Services will be held at Taylor Ranch Baptist Church , 6400 Golf Course Rd. HUGHES -- Jean G. Hughes, 63, a resident of Albuquerque since 1982, passed away suddenly from cancer on Friday, February 6, 2004. Jean and his twin brother, Jay, were born July 28, 1940, to Jim and Helen Hughes of Raytown, MO. Jean graduated in 1962 from Central Missouri State College with a bachelor degree in Business Administration. He then entered the Navy and served on the U.S.S. Constitution as well as other duty stations from 1963 to 1966. After an Honorable discharge, Jean joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he served for 25 years, retiring in 1990. In 1967, Jean married Elaine Alford of Cincinnati, Ohio (later divorcing). They had three children; Michael, Lisa and Kira and in 2002 Jean became a grandfather to his only grandchild, Gillian. He was a wonderful and loving "Pappy" to Gilli. During his retirement years, Jean became active in Cowboy Action Shooting and founded the Rio Grande Renegades Shooting Club. Jean was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. MAESTAS -- Mrs. Charlotte V. Maestas, 53, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on February 8, 2004 after a short battle with cancer. Charlotte is survived by her husband, Larry Maestas; two sons, Edward Maestas, Mark Maestas and wife, Estefanita; her loving parents, Ted and Dora Lujan; three sisters, Christine L. Pino and husband, Louie, Carolyn L. Smith and husband, Anthony; Mary Lujan and Victor Ortiz; one brother, Steve T. Lujan and wife, Barbara; her Godmother, Tillie Otero; a special friend, Charm Meyer; her second mom, Hazel Fulgham; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.. Charlotte was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel T. Lujan, grandparents, Benito and Monica Saiz and Benito and Lola Lujan. Charlotte was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation for Charlotte will be Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 400 Mildred NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Mrs. Eileen Montoya. A final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be, Rudy Lujan, Mario Lara, Adam Lopez, Gregory Bevacqua, John Paul Duran and Anthony Maestas. MCNABB -- Joanne "TJ" Wright-McNabb, 63, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died Friday, February 6, 2004. She is survived by her husband G. Edward McNabb of Albuquerque; son Christopher Troy McNabb and wife Mary of Lewisville, TX; daughter Kimberly Suzanne Cashman and husband Lyle of Vernon, CT; grandchildren Joel and Timothy Cashman, Katherine, Miriah, Hannah and Rebekah McNabb; brothers, Harold Wright and wife Mary Lou of Strongsville, OH, and Rev. Paul Wright and wife Donna of Negley, OH; sister Janet Horton of Adena, OH; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ed and Violet McNabb of Phoenix, AZ; brother-in-law Dr. Greg McNabb of San Jose, CA; and sister-in-law Gloreen Alexander of Orrington, ME. Joanne was a pianist at Oasis Family Church and a longtime member of the New Mexico Quilters Association. MILLER -- Loretta E. Miller, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, went to be with our Lord on Monday, February 09, 2004 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She will be dearly missed by her loving high school sweetheart and husband of 56 years, Frank Miller of Albuquerque; daughter, Janet Letscher and husband, Richard and daughter, Theresa Miller, all of Albuquerque. She was loved by her grandchildren, Rick Letscher and wife, Shira Greenberg, Janelle Hawkins and husband, Justin, Christy Parks and Edward Parks all of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Miller, of Albuquerque and Ann Milani and husband, Bob of Medford, New York. Loretta was born on Long Island, NY. She was a proud New Yorker who loved the water and fishing in Long Island Sound. She has called Albuquerque home since 1978. Loretta loved the cool mountains, shimmering aspens and happy times shared with her family at their home in Angel Fire, NM. Her husband and family were so important to her. Loretta's gift to her family was to instill the importance of a happy marriage and strong family values in all of us. She was a member of First Family Church where she leaves many friends and memories. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2004, at First Family Church, 4701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Pastor Galen Woodward and Pastor Kenneth Manley officiating. PADILLA -- Mr. John G. Padilla, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on February 7, 2004. Mr. Padilla is survived by his daughter, Antonia (Toni) Padilla and husband, Blas; three grandchildren, Eddie Garcia, Eric Garcia and wife, Jezelle, Denise Telles and husband, Jose; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Priscilla Jaquez and husband, Juan, Jennie Serrano, and Jeanne Butts; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Padilla was a member of the Catholic Church, and a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. A visitation for Mr. Padilla will be Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Mrs. Eileen Montoya. Mass of Christian Burial to by celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at San Felipe Catholic Church, 2005 Plaza NW. A Committal service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with Full Military Honors by the D.A.V. Chapter # 3. PATTERSON -- Velma June Patterson died on February 3, 2004 at her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born Velma June Anderson on April 7, 1939 in Gunnison, Colorado, she graduated from Salida High School in Salida, Colorado in 1957. Son, Douglas Martellaro preceded her in death. Velma is survived by five children; Alan Martellaro of Carbondale, Colorado, Brent Martellaro of Fairbanks, Alaska, Cynthia Cooney of Missoula Montana, Evan Martellaro of Salida, Colorado, and Phillip Martellaro of Bozeman, Montana. She also has four grandchildren, Tara and Jason Martellaro of Carbondale, and Jesse and Jose of Fairbanks. For the past 15 years Velma worked for the US Department of Agriculture Rural Development, formerly FMHA, in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. She was loved by us all and will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at Lewis and Glen Funeral Home in Salida, Colorado on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. There will also be a Memorial Service in Albuquerque on Tuesday February 10, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at the Faith Chapel Church, 1726 Girard Blvd. NE.
