Parsley -- Phyllis Mae Parsley, 62, who was a wonderful grandma, wife, mother, soul-mate, best friend, was born May 8, 1937 and died Friday, November 5, 1999. A resident of Albuquerque since 1973, she will be missed by her life-long companion and husband of 42 years, Bob; son, Steve Parsley and wife, Sheryl, and their daughter, Amber Nicole Parsley, of Albuquerque and Las Cruces; sister, Donna Collie and husband, Eddie of El Monte, CA; sister-in-law, Dorothy Raymond of St. John, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis is preceded in death by two brothers, Bradley D. Raymond and Larry Raymond; parents, Harry and Edna Raymond; and her stepfather, Sal Termine. She took great delight in the world around her and loved to be outdoors. Phyllis saw beauty in everything she saw and every one she met. She was a very compassionate person, and her whole life revolved around her family, especially her beloved granddaughter, Amber-Nicole--whose special relationship was blessed by love, respect and joy. Phyllis was always willing to listen to others and be there for them. She worked hard during her life and took great pride in her job as a technical typist at Metatech Corporation. Phyllis will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be Wednesday, November 10, 2:00 p.m. in the French Mortuary Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Phyllis Parsley's name be made to the Hospice of your choice. Powell -- James I. Powell, 84, a resident of Albuquerque for 82 years, passed away quietly Monday, November 1, 1999. Jim served in the US Navy during WWII as a Chief Electricians Mate. He owned J.I. Powell Company, Electrical Contractor, for over 30 years before retiring in 1979. Jim loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He dearly loved and missed his late wife,"Bert". Jim and Bertha were happily married for 42 years before she passed away in 1992. His survivors include three daughters, Susan Bobbitt and husband, Bill of Irving, TX, Deb Stark and husband, Larry of Albuquerque, and Barbara West and husband, Joe of Albuquerque; four grandsons, James Bobbitt of Irving, TX, Chris Lovato of Los Angeles, CA, Daniel Castellano and wife, Maria and David Castellano and wife, Adonica, all of Albuquerque; one step-grandson, Joseph West of Albuquerque; three great-grandchildren, Daniel Castellano, Breeana Castellano and Joel Castellano, all of Albuquerque; brother-in-law, Lee Neighbors and son, Matt; sister-in-law, Lillian Klineline; dear friends, Al and Fran Jobe; lifelong friend, Charlie Hobson; and numerous friends from La Familiar Cafe. Sanchez -- Mrs. Trinidad"Trini" C. Sanchez, 77, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on November 1, 1999. Mrs. Sanchez was born in Tome, New Mexico on September 8, 1922 to Ramon B. Chavez and Marcelina Baca De Chavez. She is survived by her beloved children, Gloria Sanchez-Yund and husband, Ted, Marcelina (Marcy) Sanchez-Cordova and husband, Larry, Ramon Sanchez, MD and wife, Linda, Charlie Sanchez and wife, Irene, Joe Sanchez and wife, Dolores, Antonio Sanchez, Ph.D. E.X.C.M.O. and wife, Carolina Lucero, Philbert Sanchez and companion, Michelle Trujillo and Victorino Sanchez; one sister, Mary Davis; two brothers, Gillie Silva and Jesus Ramon Chavez and wife, Stella; 16 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Sanchez was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal S.W. with visitation at the Church after 6:30 p.m. Jacobo de la Serna, reciting, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church with viewing at the Church after 9:30 a.m. Father John Shedlock, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her sons, Philbert, Ramon, Charlie, Joe, Antonio and Victorino. Guenther -- Florence Blakey Guenther, 79, a resident of Moriarty, passed away Sunday, October 31, 1999, in Oklahoma City, OK. Florence was born July 28, 1920 to Gilbert and Sarah Ann (Wormald) Blakey in Philadelphia, PA. She married Louis T. Guenther Sr. on July 12, 1941 in Hollywood, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death February 5, 1997. Florence had been a resident of Moriarty for the past 42 years. She is survived by two sons, Louis T. Guenther Jr. and his wife, Georgia of Moriarty, Larry E. Guenther and wife, Annabelle of Portland, ME; daughters, Christine Riboni and husband, Mac of Albuquerque, and Carolyn Guenther; also surviving are two grandchildren, Louis T. Guenther III of Moriarty and Betty Lou VanDemark and husband, Brian of Phoenix, AZ; one great-granddaughter, RaeAnn Lynn VanDemark of Phoenix, AZ; her brother, Elmer Blakey and wife, Emma of Denver, CO; her sister, Gloria Fretz and husband, Jack; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Ms. Guenther will lie in state at the Harris-Hanlon Chapel in Moriarty, Wednesday, November 3, 1999, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Moriarty, Thursday, November 4, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Ken Long officiating. Burial will be at the Mountain Valley Cemetery in Edgewood. Pallbearers will be Guy Blakey, Ellan Anderson, Bob Hensley, Bob Shepherd, Jim Ford, Dave Johnson, Jessie Rogers Lester Stauffacher. Honorary pallbearers will be Elmer Blakey, Bill Rogers, Brian VanDemark, Mac Riboni, Choppo McComb, and Cyril Tate. Funeral services were entrusted to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty.

Pompeo -- Joe Pompeo Jr., age 74, passed away Monday morning, October 25, 1999, at his home in Cimarron. He was born February 21, 1925 in Dawson, New Mexico to the late Joe Pompeo and Nancy Brandolino. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Pompeo of Cimarron; one daughter, Nancy Romero of Cimarron; one son, Larry Jefferson Pompeo of Espanola; one sister, Diana Cimino of Albuquerque; one brother, Ernest Pompeo of Santa Fe; two grandsons, Jared Pompeo, Jeff Pompeo; one granddaughter, Rebecca Jones; and two great-granddaughters, Ashley Pompeo and Brianna Pompeo. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cimarron. Joe was in the educational system in the State of New Mexico for 30 years as a teacher, coach, principal and superintendent. He retired in 1984 as the superintendent of Cimarron Schools after 19 years. He was the creator and introduced the concept of the four-day school week and it is in use today in schools throughout New Mexico and other states in the country. He also taught high school in Hobbs. He served in the Navy during WWII and he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Services for Joe Pompeo will be announced later by the Errington Memorial Chapel.

Capels -- Michael W."Mike" Capels, age 30, passed away on October 10, 1999 in Des Moines, Iowa, where he was a resident since 1992. He loved fishing and hunting in Iowa. Mike was born in Albuquerque on October 2, 1969, was a longtime resident and attended schools in Albuquerque until he moved to Iowa. He is survived by his father, William and wife, Nancy Capels of Albuquerque; his mother, Helen and husband, Dale Strong of Tempe, AZ; his sisters, Karen and husband, Kenneth Miller of McKinney, TX, Kathryn and husband, Stewart of Sarasota, FL; his brother, Christopher and wife, Rachelle Capels of Santa Cruz, CA; his nephew, Gregory Miller; and by his niece, Kelly Miller. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 1999, 6:30 p.m., at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church (8600 Academy Rd. NE) with Pastor Larry Moss officiating. Private interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Door of Faith Mission, 1006 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50309.
