FOX -- Bynard Fox, 90, an Albuquerque resident since 1942, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005. He is survived by a son, Gene Fox and wife, Helen of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Mike Fox of Sunnyvale, CA, Toni Davis of Albuquerque, Sandi Kraft and husband, Keith of Albuquerque, Krystal Gallegos and husband, Rick of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Michelle, Teri, Jennifer, Jory and Aaron James (A.J.), Kelsey, Kaitlin, Kimberly, and Ashley; great-great-grandchildren, Shannon and Devin. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Faye Fox; a son, Rex Fox; and a grandson, Joe Fox. He retired from Brown Construction Company in 1980 after working on New Mexico highways for over 40 years. He liked to say that he was involved in the construction of more miles of highway in New Mexico than anyone he knew. After retirement, he and his wife Faye traveled extensively in their RV. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2005 at French Mortuary, University Blvd Chapel. JOHNSON -- Cheryl Ann Johnson, 60, died of natural causes Monday, February 28, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dennis R. Johnson of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Rhonda Johnson with Stevie Marquez of Albuquerque; son, Brian Johnson with Daveena Rosales of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Kylie Johnson and Jayci Johnson of Albuquerque; brother, Gary Richards and wife, Betty of Lewisville, ID; sister, Denise Ramos and husband, Robert of Idaho Falls, ID; adoptive son and daughter, Charles and Laura Warfield of Rio Rancho, NM; adoptive grandchildren, Mickey, Taren Layne, and Cannon Warfield; and many nieces, nephews, and close and loving friends throughout the country. Cheryl was preceded in death by her infant son, Darren. There was a reception in Albuquerque, NM at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE on Tuesday March 1, 2005 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. LITTELL -- Edward "Austin" Littell, 67, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2005, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his beloved wife, Trish Littell; son, Ed and wife, Kristi and grandchildren, Jessica and Ryan; son, Mike and wife, Laurie; son, Bart and wife, Dawn and grandchildren, Kelsey, Katie, Connor and Sierra; son, Lance and friend, Fab; brother, Phil and niece, Lianne; sister, Jo and husband, Henry and nephew, Henry Jr. and niece, Lynne; mother-in-law, Eleanor Hammock; brother and sister-in-law, Gloria and Jesse Sands and niece, Jesica; brother and sister-in-law, Sally and Fred Garcia and nieces, Vanessa, Samantha and nephew, Dylan. Mr. Littell was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Willie Littell. Austin was born on February 19, 1938, in Memphis, TN. He grew up near Hughes, AR, where he graduated from high school. He attended the University of Arkansas. He pursued many interests including construction, sports, song writing and singing. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered by his family and numerous friends for his kindness, generosity, humor, passion for life and family, his love of animals, his strong work and professional ethic, and his many talents. He retained this sense of spirit throughout his illness. Services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2005, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. MARTIN -- Luther G. Martin, 93 of Las Vegas, NV, died February 22, 2005. "Luke," as he was known by his friends, was a 53 year resident of Albuquerque before moving to Las Vegas, NV in 2003. Luke was a union sheet metal worker, and a WWII Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Luella; and sons, Stuart Martin and his wife, Julie of Las Vegas, NV, Lowell Martin of Albuquerque, and Glen Martin of Park Hills, MO. Services will be held at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

MARTINEZ -- Erma G. Martinez, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2005 at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family. "Nana" is now in heaven with our Lord and has been reunited with her husband of 58 years, Procopio Martinez, who passed away just 8 weeks ago. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Leonardo and Amalia Gutierrez; her brothers, Eddie and Selso Gutierrez; and her sister, Bennie Leathers. She is survived by her children, Martin Martinez and wife, Gladys, Lydia Parras and husband, Bill, and Evangeline (Vangie) Montoya and husband, Mike; ten grandchildren, Debbie Savedra and husband, Jacob, Jason and Matthew Montoya, Rachel Garcia and husband, Carlos, Melissa, Jeffrey, Jonathan, and Susan Parras, David Martinez and fiance, Gina Hanosh, and Ermarie Pate and husband, Eric; and two great-grandchildren, Kristelle Parras and Andrew Savedra. Other survivors include her brothers, Nevarez Gutierrez and wife Linda, Sam Gutierrez and wife, Ruth; her sisters, Margaret Sanchez, Juanita Leathers and husband, Dave, Elisea Maes; and a very special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lydia and Orlando Romero; as well as many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. Erma was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to taking care of her husband, children, grandchildren, and other family members. She will always be remembered for the way she made people feel welcome in her home, and the way she would prepare the most wonderful meals that would somehow feed everyone. She was a wonderful blessing to the family and she was greatly loved. She will be missed more than words can say. She had also been a very active member of The American G.I. Forum for many years. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 10:00 a.m., also at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The burial of her cremated remains will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. MARTINEZ -- Mary B. (Berli) Martinez, age 67, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2005. She was preceded in death by her father, Alfredo Martinez. Mary is survived by her mother, Lola and two sisters, Martha Martinez and husband, John L., of Albuquerque, Rosalie Nicholls and husband, David of Austin, TX; two brothers, Pat Martinez and wife, Mehry of Easton, PA, Frank Martinez of Albuquerque. Also surviving are nephews, Michael and Carl Martinez of New York City; nieces, Lisa Martinez, Rome, Italy, Nina Adang, husband, David and children, Max and Shirin of Tucson, AZ; Annelle Bourguet, husband, Sonny and sons, Troy and Kyle; Dina Holcomb, husband, Kenny and children, Aidan, Alayna, and Monica Martinez of Albuquerque. She is also survived by best friends, Marci Tafoya, Deena Noonon, Kay Mallory, and Lila Escobedo, as well as many other dear friends. Mary was very caring and generous person who will be truly missed. She was retired from the NM Health and Environment Department and was an active member and Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 99. NEWTON -- Lorenzo Newton, 70, passed away on February 27, 2005 after fighting the good fight, finishing the race and keeping the faith. He was born on July 16, 1934 to Isaac and Ernestine Newton in Ft. Worth, TX. He later relocated to Los Angeles, CA where he married Irma Jean, and had one son, Keith. There in Los Angeles, Lorenzo started his lifelong career in culinary arts, drama and working with the local school systems. In 1997, Lorenzo moved to Albuquerque. He was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church where he volunteered his time feeding the homeless along with using his culinary skills to cater many events. Lorenzo worked for several years at Sandia High School in the BIP program and volunteered at Popejoy Hall for many theatrical performances. Lorenzo also hosted four exchange students from Germany, Czech Republic, and Sweden. Many called him "Dad" or "Uncle Lorenzo." He was "Simply Irresistible" by all those who met him. Lorenzo loved the Lord and served him with all his heart and soul. He is survived by his son, Keith Newton and wife Patrice of Ft. Worth, TX; brothers, Roland Newton, Vernon Newton and wife, Delores, Clarence Newton and wife, Mary, and O.C. Newton and wife, Ann, all of Ft. Worth. Also surviving are nieces and nephews throughout Texas and California. Lorenzo was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Ernestine Newton along with four brothers and two sisters. A celebration of Lorenzo's life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 314 Lead SW, Albuquerque, NM.

PADILLA -- Crespin M. Padilla, Sr., age 79, a resident of Bosque Farms, NM, passed away February 27, 2005, surrounded by his loving family. Crespin was born on April 28, 1925 to Severo and Manuelita Padilla in Los Padillas and lived in Bosque Farms the last 30 years of his life. He greatly enjoyed gardening, hunting, and had lots of fun dancing a night away. Crespin is preceded in death by his parents, Severo and Manuelita; son, Placido; brothers, Ricardo, Toby and Tony; sisters, Cora Baca, Rose Orona, and Jennie Sanchez. He is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Theresa Padilla; sons, Crespin, Jr., Manuel and Antonio Padilla; brother, Richard Padilla; sisters, Lily and her husband, James Armijo, Grace and her husband, Vincente Chavez, all of Albuquerque, Carla and her husband, Lawrence Nieto of Los Lunas, Flora and her husband, Gene Sellen of Diamond Bar, CA, and Annie Mirabal of La Habra, CA; one sister-in-law, Barbara Padilla. Crespin was also the loving and proud grandpa of seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 2, at 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 3, at 10:00 a.m. at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church. ROMERO -- Mary (Maria) S. Romero, age 85, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, was called home by our Heavenly Father, Monday, February 28, 2005. Mary was born in Tajique, NM; and was a resident of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ricardo Romero; and a son, Richard Jr. Mary is survived by her loving children, Estevan Romero and wife, Anna of Las Cruces, NM, Daniel Romero and wife, Elena, and Jose Romero of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Ramon Barela and wife, Emma of Estancia, NM; many nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members and friends. Visitations will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church; where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. this evening. Mass of Christian will be celebrated Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at St. Therese Little Flower Church. SANCHEZ -- Rafael "Ralph" G. Sanchez, 72, lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away Monday, February, 28, 2005 after a short illness surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Joyce L. Sanchez; children, Gilbert Sanchez, Evelyn Symonds, Lillian Madrid and husband, Ben, Manuel Sanchez, Michael Sanchez and wife, Judy; stepchildren, Charles Berry, all of Albuquerque, Robyn Smith, Deborah Yankowski, both of Houston, TX; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe and Stella Sanchez, Eloy and Angie Sanchez; sisters, Emma Chavez, Margaret Larragoite and husband, Phillip, Candy Martinez and husband, Joe and Marcella Sexauer and husband, Rick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
