ANAYA -- Victor S. Anaya Sr., 61, beloved father, son, brother, and husband passed away on March 24, 2005 after a 15 month battle with cancer. Vic was born November 13, 1943 in Fort Bragg, NC. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1963 and served in Vietnam as a radarman aboard the USS Robinson. Vic moved back to Albuquerque in 1968 where he worked for General Electric as a machinist for 21 years until his diagnosis late in 2003. Victor will be sorely missed but never forgotten by his family, friends and all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Feliciano and Josefa Ortega; and brother, Ruben Anaya. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Jean Schroeder Anaya of Albuquerque; parents, SanJuana and Alfredo Zapata of Anthony, NM; brother, Fernando Anaya and fiance, Margaret of Albuquerque; sisters, Linda Tarango of Albuquerque, Lisa Zapata of Canutillo, TX; children, Victor II of Albuquerque, Michelle Zapata of Anthony, NM, Alex and wife, Lorraine of Albuquerque, Angela and husband, Jarrod Nall of Texarkana, TX, Michael and wife, Tina of Texarkana, TX, Sharon of Albuquerque, Wade and wife, Maxine of Chicago, IL; and grandchildren, Crystal, Matthias, Jade, Justin, Michael II, Daniel, Tristan, Tyler, Layna, Paul and Michelle. BASSETT -- Charlotte M. Bassett, 76, a 52-year resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard R. Bassett of Albuquerque; daughters, Cheryl Carter of Austin, TX and Gayle O'Dell of Cypress, CA; grandchildren, Clint Hoover, Amy Balderama, Brandon Carter, Haley Carter, and Colten O'Dell; great-granddaughter, Emily Balderama. Charlotte was born in Armington, IL. She attended the University of Illinois in Champagne, IL. In 1952 she moved to Albuquerque and was employed by Sandia Labs. She was a talented musician and taught piano lessons to many children. After the birth of her children she was a loving mother and homemaker for her daughters and husband. She enjoyed their Jemez Mountain cabin and her friends whom she visited with every summer. Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. BELL -- Betty J. Bell, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1983, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Jean and husband, Charles Miller of Leland, IL; sons, Richard Raymond and wife, Consuelo Bell of Fritzler, Germany, Timothy Paul and wife, Greta Bell of Wheaton, IL, and Donald Ray and wife, Anna Bell of Ooltewah, TN; sisters, Lois Seibt of Beaverton, OR and Louise Benner of Camden, MA; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. Bell; father, C.J. Walker; mother, Martha L. Walker; brother, Verne Walker; and sister, Mary Milsap. COOPER -- Ann Kathryn Cooper, 84, died on Tuesday, March 29, 2005. She is survived by daughter, Cathleen Griesbacher of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ava Mendoza, Frederick Griesbacher, Jr., Derrick Griesbacher, and Marianne Griesbacher; one great-grandchild, Joseph Mendoza, all of Albuquerque; siblings, Helen Molder of Pennsylvania, Robert Patsiga and wife, Doris of North Carolina, and Mildred Klitz of Pennsylvania; and sister-in-law, Dora Patsiga of Pennsylvania. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, John Calvin Cooper and great-grandson, Frank Xavier Mendoza. She was a member of Queen of Heaven's Senior Group and active at the Palo Duro Senior Center. GARCIA -- Lauriano Garcia Sr. went home to be with the Lord on March 27, 2005 at the age of 78. He was born on January 18, 1927 in Albuquerque, NM. GIRON -- Frank G. Giron, born April 11, 1924, has gone to is eternal rest on March 29, 2005. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Eufricia Giron; his brother, Paul; his sister, Socorrita; and his brother-in-law, Bennie G. Baca. He is survived by his loving wife, Dilia of the family home; brother, Joe Jiron and wife, Heidi of Albuquerque; sisters, Sostia G. Baca of Albuquerque, and Betty Silva and husband, Gilbert of Belen. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Tom Lopez, Andrew Lopez, Nancy Zamora, Joe Gonzales, Linda Burdine, and Ben Baros; and many nieces and nephews. Frank proudly served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army, retiring with 22 years of service as SSG. He also retired from the State of New Mexico Corrections Facility as well as from the City of Albuquerque. Until recently, he worked for APD as a school crossing guard in Albuquerque. We will greatly miss and love you forever. JIRON -- David S., 49, born in Albuquerque on August 15, 1955, returned to our merciful LORD on Saturday, March 26, 2005 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Preceded in death by his brother, Fabian Jiron and his father, Conrad Jiron Sr. David is survived by his two children, Michele and Michael Jiron. Also survived by his mother, Ester Jiron; and sisters and brothers: Sharon Rubi, Conrad Jiron Jr., Dennis Jiron, Randy Jiron, Gary Jiron, Tracy Jiron, and Yvette Lujan. Also many nieces and nephews along with great-nieces and-nephews. David served 11 years in the National Guard and worked with his brothers in the building profession. David loved riding his Harley with his friends; this is where he felt free. David was a kind soul and loved everything about life. He will be missed by all that knew him. LOVATO -- Ana Marie Worthey Lovato, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 26, 2005. Ms. Lovato is survived by her loving daughters: Deanna M. Huerta and husband, Dominic; Virginia M. Ochoa de Schear and husband, James; and Salinia Lovato; and her parents: Joe and Dorothy Ochoa. Ms. Lovato is also survived by four grandchildren: Shantalicse, Martine, Tomas, and Elijah; her brother: John Ortiz and wife, Margie; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family of Ms. Lovato will be reflecting on her life with a Memorial Service and Graveside Service. The service will be on Saturday at 12:00 noon in the Reflection of Life Chapel. PALMER -- Lt. Col. John Kenneth Palmer, USAF, (Ret.), 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, March 27, 2005. He is survived by his daughter, Karyn Palmer of Albuquerque; son, Kent Palmer of Lafayette, LA; grandson, Jaxon; brother, Ken Palmer of Mohawk, NY; and sister, Betty Brannigan of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie F. Palmer; parents, Earl and Ethel Palmer; and brother, Bob Palmer. Mr. Palmer was born in Mohawk, NY. He retired as Lt. Col. from the USAF. Mr. Palmer had served as a District Executive of Boy Scouts in New Mexico and was very active in the Host Lions Club.
