Abraham -- Mrs. Lawrence T. Abraham, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2002. She died peacefully at home surrounded by family after being cared for by her devoted husband. The former Wadette Goze, a native New Mexican, born October 2, 1916 in Magdelena, NM to a prominent ranching family George and Adele Goze. She was preceeded in death by her parents and sister Margaret. Mrs. Abraham graduated from El Paso Business College and earned her Teaching Certificate from UNM in 1938. She taught school in Magdalena in the late 1930's. On a trip to the 1939 New York World's Fair she met her future husband, Lawrence T. Abraham, married October 6, 1940 and began a love affair lasting 63 years. The Abrahams lived in Magdalena, Espanola and resided in Los Alamos from 1942 to 1946. While in Los Alamos she was instrumental in starting the USO and served as its president. In 1946, the Abrahams with their daughters moved to Santa Fe and resided there until 1976. While in Santa Fe she attended First Presbyterian Church, served as President of the Dig N Hope Club Garden Club, served on the State Board of Garden Clubs, President of the Stitch N Bitch Club, Chairperson of the March of Dimes, Girl Scout Leader, served as President of the Santa Fe City Council, Secretary/Treasurer of Lawrence T. Abraham Construction, Mother Advisor of the Rainbow Girls and was named Santa Fe Woman of the Year in 1970. Mr. & Mrs. Abraham moved to Albuquerque in 1976. While in Albuquerque she continued her civic activities and focused on her love of writing poetry and painting. Wadette is a chartered member of the Tom L. Popejoy Society at UNM. She is survived by her devoted husband and companion, Lawrence; loving daughter Sandra Dhieux and her husband, Ernie, of Broomfield Co.; their children Joyel Dhieux of Boulder Co., and Matthew Dhieux of Broomfield Co.; Loving daughter Dr. Karen Abraham of Albuquerque, long time administrator of the University of New Mexico; and loving son, Larry, his wife, Beverly, and their son, Geoffrey, all of Albuquerque. Wadette's greatest success and focus of her life was her family. She was devoted to her husband Lawrence and doted on her children and grandchildren. The incredible loss of her presence is balanced only by the lasting example and legacy of her amazing energy, love of life and the commitment she brought to her life's role of wife, mother, friend and humanitarian. Her strength and love of life left a lasting impact on everyone she met. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, November 24th at 1 pm at the UNM Alumni Chapel, Rev. Ned Ross officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence T. and Wadette Abraham Endowment Scholarship, UNM Foundation/Development Office 700 Lomas Blvd., NE Suite 203, Albuquerque NM 87131.

Clark -- Jean Clark, 75, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2002. She was born in Staffordshire County, England May 13, 1927. Jean met her future husband, Jesse T. Clark in England during WWII. He always called her his"war souvenir". She and her beloved Jesse were married in Las Vegas, New Mexico, March 9, 1947 and moved to Albuquerque shortly thereafter where they raised their three children. In addition to Jesse, Jean is survived by her sons, James T."Tom" Clark and wife, Dolly, and Robert"Charlie" Clark and wife, Renee and by her daughter, Linda Anderson and husband, John, all of Albuquerque. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Deanne and husband, Chris Downey, Shawn Anderson, Ryan, Reanne and Ray Clark; her great-granddaughter, Mary Anne Downey; her brother, John Harrison; her sister, Claire and husband, Maurice Wain; her brother-in-law, John Oxley, and her sister-in-law, Helen McCluer. The family wishes to express its gratitude for all the loving care given to Jean by the staff at Albuquerque Manor. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Jean's name may be made to Alzheimer Association, 8100 Mountain Rd. NE, 87110. Sunrise Society of New Mexico is serving the family of Mrs. Clark. (891-8200).

Jewell -- James"Jim" Richard Jewell, age 59, a resident of Albuquerque for over 20 years, died Tuesday, November 19, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Anita Jewell of the family home; daughter, Wendy Teel and husband, Carlton; son, Justin Jewell; grandchildren, Cameron and Caitlynn Teel all of Dallas; step-daughter, Lauren Johnson and husband, Tom; step-grandchildren, Matthew and Danny Johnson all of Rio Rancho; sister, Shirley Hartig of Florida; brother, Donald Jewell and wife, Peggy of West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was the owner of Jim's Budget Painting¯ until his retirement in 1998. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Service is being held in Dallas. Cowan -- Jeanne Cowan. On November 20, 2002, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Jeanne Cowan, began her second life in the presence of her loving family. Jeanne is survived by her husband of 57 years, Maynard Cowan Jr.; children, Maynard"Skip" Cowan III and wife, Michelle, Kris Martinez and husband, Andy, ¯Kimberlyn McGreal and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Maynard Cowan IV, Jennifer Stensgaard and husband,¯ Jason, John Travis Cowan, Connor McGreal and Fionn McGreal. Jeanne was born on November 4, 1925 in North Kansas City, Missouri. Jeanne led a fruitful life, belonging to and leading many charitable and community organizations, such as, the Albuquerque Women's Symphony Organization, where she was a past President. Aside from her involvement in the arts and philanthropy, Jeanne spent the majority of her time and energy enjoying and loving her family. Her love and guidance will always be remembered and cherished by all whose lives were graced by her presence. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2002 at St. Marks on the Mesa Episcopal Church in Albuquerque, with an open celebration of her life to follow at the Cowan family household. Beighley -- A Memorial Service for Mary H. Beighley, wife of Dr. Harold V. Beighley will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Hobbs, NM. Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home of Hobbs. Mrs. Beighley died Sunday, November 17, 2002 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. Mary Elizabeth Herbert Beighley was born on August 27, 1924 in Columbus, OH to Chester and Marie Herbert. She attended Ohio State University and graduated from Christ Hospital Nursing School in Cincinnati, OH. She married Dr. Harold Beighley on October 7, 1949 in Columbus, OH. They moved to Albuquerque in 1950 where they lived until 1969, then moved to Hobbs, NM. Mary was a member of the Junior League of Albuquerque Chapter Q of the PEO Sisterhood, St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, Hobbs Country Club Ladies Golf Association, Salvation Army Board of Directors, New Mexico Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild, and Hobbs Rose Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Elizabeth Beighley. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Cindy Gardner of Wray, CO; three sons, Tom of San Antonio, TX, Donn of Dexter, MO, and Sam of Mesa, AZ; two sisters, Virginia Gardner of Alpharetta, GA, and Anne Frank of Greensburg, KY; one brother, John Herbert of Phoenix, AZ; 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, NM Boys Ranch, or the charity of your choice.

Trujillo -- Daniel N. Trujillo, 89, a longtime Brush, CO area resident, died Saturday, November 16, 2002, at the Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, CO. He was born October 3, 1913, in Ranchos de Taos, NM, to Celso and Josefina Trujillo. He married Andrea Montoya on May 7, 1938, in Las Vegas, NM. The Trujillo family moved to Brush, CO in 1942. Prior to retirement, Dan was a long haul trucking transportation driver. An avid gardener, Dan's vegetable garden was the envy of the neighborhood. Dan was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and AARP Survivors include his wife, Andrea of Brush, CO; his children, Placido and his wife, Juanita Romero of Brush, CO, Steve and his wife, Marie Romero of Colorado Springs, Rose Salinas of Fort Lupton, Helen and her husband, Larry Romero of Denver, CO, Ray and his wife, Cheryl Trujillo of Lakewood, CO, Mary Lou and her husband, Tom Trujillo-Flores of Brush, NM, Anthony and his wife, Rosi Trujillo of Brush, CO and Daniel and his wife, Beatrice Trujillo of Papillion, NE; 30 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren; one daughter, Donna; one sister; and his parents preceded him in death. Rosary Services will be Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 340 Stanford Street in Brush, CO. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Interment will follow at the Brush Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be a the Heer Mortuary Chapel in Brush on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
