Chavez -- Jose A. (Sharkie) Chavez, age 67, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend was welcomed into the arms of the Lord our Savior, Sunday, March 10, 2002, while surround by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife, Cecilia; mother-in-law, Marie C de Baca; a son, Ray Chavez; daughters, Agnes Lovato, Diane Turano and husband, Vincent, Patricia Rizvi; step-daughters, Roberta Guzman and husband, Orlando, Celeste Miller and husband, Bill, Yvette Vargas and husband, Donald; 15 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three great granddaughters; brother, Tony J. Chavez and wife, Estella; Sisters, Marie Maestas, Julie, Dolores and Jeanette; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Sharkie will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Jose retired from the Sandoval County; he was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force; he served as City Councilman for the town of Bernalillo; he also worked for Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, where he instructed the Altar Servers, taught CCD classes, he was a Eucharist Minister, the Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #7633 of Bernalillo; a member of the 4th Degree Mandalor Council # 0682; he was past president of the Bernalillo Civitan Club. Jose was well known by many as Sharkie, he was a kind hearted man who always was willing to help others. Sharkie will always be remembered by his smile, and good sense of humor; he touched so many lives. Visitation will be today from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Jose will lie in state from 7:00 p.m. till the time of Rosary, which will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be David Chavez, Jered Chavez, Johnny Chavez, Michael Turano, Orlando Guzman, and Bill Miller. Honorary Bearers will be Richard Stange, Tivo Lovato, Joe B. Austin, the Knights of Columbus Council #7633, Fr. Mandalari, the 4th Degree Council #0682, Arthur Trujillo, and Leroy Trujillo. At the families request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Hospice, 8300 Constitution Ave., NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110, New Mexico Heart Association, or to the New Mexico Diabetes Center. Lowman -- Lola Lowman, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died Sunday, March 10, 2002. She is survived by her daughters, Jo Crumley and husband, Roy, and Brenda Landers and husband, Gene; grandchildren, Sheila Keller and husband, Donald, and Doug Gaylor, all of Albuquerque; sister, Connie Rhodes of Farmington, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Duffie Lowman, in 1996. Mr. & Mrs. Lowman were charter members of Manzanita Sam's RV Club. She loved to garden with the help of her turtles. She loved cooking for her family. The family wishes to thank Gloria Cordova, Mrs. Lowman's"Little Angel" and Linda, Mary Lou and Peggy. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2002, 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho. Howard -- In Loving Memory of Waldon A. Howard (Lt. Col. USAF, Ret.) November 12, 1922 - March 10, 2001Waldon A. Howard passed away on March 10, 2001 at the age of 78 following complications from emphysema. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Selma Geraldine Howard in 1998; and a son, Martin Lee Howard in 2000. He is survived by his children, Beth Howard and husband, Dennis of Edgewood, NM, Randall Howard and wife, Phyllis of Edgewood, NM, Shelley Howard and husband, Ed of Wylie, TX and Ann Gutierrez and husband, Ofie of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jessica Sisko of North Brunswick, NJ, Jasmine Wanner of Wylie, TX and Trish and Lee Gutierrez of Albuquerque; brothers, William Howard and wife, Patricia of Houston, TX and Gayle Van Horne and wife, Jo of Greenville, TX. He is also survived by special family friends, Donald Nickerson, Yolanda de Oro and Diane Gutierrez. The family wishes to thank all of his caregivers at Special Live-In Care, Inc. and all of his care providers at the VA Hospital who provided such wonderful care during his illness. Waldon had a fulfilling career with the United States Air Force, retiring as a Lt. Colonel in 1971 after 27 years of service. He served in the capacity of Bombardier, Navigator, Arsenal Advisor and Nuclear Weapons Officer, traveling all over the world. He loved hunting, fishing, golf, cabinetry, and jewelry making. Graveside Services and interment were held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on March 14, 2001. Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors in charge.

Lormor -- Donald Edwin Lormor, 83, of Leawood, KS, passed away March 6, 2002, at his home. Don is survived by his wife of almost sixty-one years, Arlene Maring Lormor; son, Gordon and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Lormor of Leawood, Kansas; grandson, Sean Lormor of Leawood, Kansas; sister, Margaret See of Naples, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Blanch Christopher Lormor; sister, Dora Lormor; brothers, Beryl Lormor and Kenneth Lormor. Don was born October 20, 1918 in Mount Auburn, Iowa. Don and Arlene met in high school in Waterloo, Iowa and were married on April 30, 1941. Later that year, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where they spent most of their lives. Don retired after twenty-five years in the banking business as Vice President of the Bank of New Mexico, to become a custom home builder. In addition to Albuquerque, Don was in the building business in Midland, Texas where he and his family lived for several years. Don and Arlene moved to Sun City West, Arizona in June 1996, to enjoy the sunshine and warm winters. In June 2001, he and Arlene came to Kansas to make their home with their son and his family. Don devoted time to many organizations servicing as President of Albuquerque Jaycees, Vice President of New Mexico Jaycee's, leadership roles in the Rio Grande Lion's Club, and Senior Chamber of Commerce. The Albuquerque Jaycee's nominated him for the Distinguished Service Award. Don will be remembered most as a personable, gentle man who was respected for his love and devotion to family and friends, his integrity and his willingness to always give of himself. He liked nothing better than casting his fly rod over the Conejos River or a friendly game of golf. He will be greatly missed. Strance -- Elvina "Viney" Strance, 84, long-time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday March 8, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Edward Strance; daughter, Melody Porr and husband Van of Albuquerque; grandson Byron Shane Chubbuck and wife, Laticia; granddaughter Cherise E. Traum and husband, Donald; great grandson Eduardo Immanuel Chubbuck; sister, Glena Riddle and husband, Bob of Franklin, PA; and brother, David Logan and wife Kathy of Pensacola, FL. Elvina was born in Oil City, PA, the daughter of the late Samuel and Pearl Logan. She moved to Albuquerque in the early 50's. Through the years she was employed by Sandia National Laboratory, Dikewood Corporation, Albuquerque Public Schools and was retired from The University of New Mexico. Elvina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all. She was well known for her love and joy of music and whenever or wherever possible her talent was put to good and happy use including playing for nursing homes and churches. Viney was involved with all kinds of crafts and entered many of her items in the State Fair. She was a member of the Ladies Elks, The Ukrainian Embroidery Class, Highland Senior Center, Kathy Lewis Folk Dancers, the VFW Auxiliary, LDS Relief Society, Los Aranos Spinners and was past Director of Music at the Albuquerque Christian Institute, past member of the Hammond Organ Society, and past Secretary/Treasurer of the Albuquerque Poetry Society. She enjoyed her home and her life. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2002 at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE with Rev. Ed Storm officiating. Interment of cremains will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Krzynski -- Donald Krzynski, 71, of Colchester, Vermont passed away peacefully at the Vermont Respite House on Sunday, March 3, 2002. Donald was born July 13, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Leo and Marie Krzynski. Donald retired in 1995 from construction in Stockton, CA. His interests included gardening, horses and fixing up houses. He was a member of the elks for 36 years. He served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1954. He is survived by his daughter, Deann L. Krzynski; Patricia Armstrong; his grandson, Brett Armstrong Krzynski of Colcheter, Vermont; his granddaughter, Jaimie L. Krzynski of Albuquerque, Bobbie C. de Baca of Albuquerque; his brothers, Theodore Krzynski and his wife, Mary Jane of Peewaukee, WI, John and his wife, Phyllis of Ann Harbor, MI; his nieces, nepehws and their families. Also, Jerry Bourque of Colchester Vermont who Don thought of as a family member. Don was predeceased by his wife, Donna L. (Cheeseman) Krzynski and his daughter, Denise L. Krzynski. He leaves many friends he has met along the way in Illinois, Hawaii, New Mexico, California, and most recently in Vermont. At Don's request, there will not be a Funeral or Service. Remember him as he was, full of energy and life.

Crouse -- Donald "Don" Robert Crouse was born April 21, 1946 in Marion, Indiana. He worked for Rocky Mountain RV and Marine and served his country in the U.S Air Force from 1965 to 1969. Don was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. His hobbies were fishing, golfing, playing cards and being with his family and friends. Don is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lupe Crouse of the family home; three sons Michael Crouse of Texas, Gary Crouse and wife Diana, Jared and Trina all of New Mexico; daughter Marion Crouse; parents, Robert and Hazel Crouse; brothers, David Crouse and wife, Connie and James Crouse all of New Mexico; sisters, Carolyn Greathouse and husband, Greg of Ohio, Linda Dyer of New Mexico; two granddaughters, Katie and Kaylee both of New Mexico; grandsons, Matthew of Texas and Baby Crouse of New Mexico; nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who loved and will miss him. Martinez -- Gene Martinez, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died March 2, 2002 at the age of 69. Gene served in the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his mother, Loraine; and by his son, Joey, the love of his life. Survivors include brothers, Nick and wife, Maxine of Kenosha, WI., Richard and wife, Clara, Paul and wife, Betty; sisters, JoAnn Manley and husband, Joe, Helen Martinez and husband, Bennie all of Albuquerque; nephew, Donald Martinez and wife, Maureen of Albuquerque, who assisted Gene during the last years of his life; numerous other nephews and nieces He is also survived by his special friends and constant companions, his pets,"Mister","Little Girl", and"Jackie Lee".
