MARSHALL -- Phyllis Darlene Buske Marshall, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, age 71, passed away peacefully in her home on January 1, 2009. Phyllis was born on February 15, 1937 in Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Inez Buske, brothers Richard Buske and William Buske, and sister Janet Mathews. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Robert Marshall; children, Michelle Snow and husband Jim, and David Marshall; two grandchildren Taylor and Jeremy Snow, all of Albuquerque, NM; sister Barbara Stuve and husband Bob, brother Don Buske and wife Kay all of Rochester, Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Margaret Powell and husband George of Clovis, NM, and Maxine Dinwiddie and husband George of Reno, NV. MARTINEZ -- Antonio S. Martinez passed away at the age of 77 after a sudden illness on Sunday, January 4, 2009, surrounded by his beloved wife and loving children. He lived most of his life as a resident of Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Contreras, NM, to Antonia Sanchez Martinez and Hermenes Martinez. Antonio served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and in the reserves until 1960. Antonio worked at the Juvenile Detention Center from 1959 to 1969. Antonio retired in 1990 from Albuquerque Public Schools as an Office Machine Technician, and ended his career running his own office equipment repair business, "Antonio's Business Machines." Antonio is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Alice Martinez; his children David G. Martinez, Beverly Martinez and husband Georges Argoud of Cardiff, CA, Deborah Mullins and husband Patrick C. Mullins of Martinez, NM, and Meliton G. Martinez; grandchildren Andrea Martinez and partner Joshua Delgado, Maria Argoud, Gabriel Martinez and partner Joanna Padilla, George Argoud, Lissette Argoud, and Elena Martinez; great-grandchildren Elijah Martinez, and Santiago Delgado; sisters Lorencita Griego, Celia Spurlin, Tersila Garcia and husband Ross Garcia. Antonio is also survived by many in-laws; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. Antonio was preceded in death by his brothers Vivian Martinez Sr., Ernesto S. Martinez; his sister Abelia Martinez; grandparents Vivian and Genoveva Moya Martinez, Alejandro and Lorencita Espinosa Sanchez. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be held at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd at 9:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 8, 2009. MARTINEZ -- Utilia "Tillie" Martinez, 83 of Santa Rosa, NM died Monday, January 5, 2009 in Albuquerque surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer. Tillie was born September 5, 1925 in Carlsbad, NM to the home of Manuel T. and the former Rosita (Sisneros) Apodaca. She was raised on the family ranch in San Ignacio, New Mexico on Route 66. She attended schools in the little village of San Ignacio and later in Santa Rosa. She was married on July 14, 1945 in Santa Rosa. She worked as an assistant in the Guadalupe Consolidated Schools and retired after many years. She enjoyed working with the students and often would encounter former students who she enjoyed visiting with. Tillie and Nap were longtime members of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Santa Rosa where they served as Eucharistic Ministers. Tillie was a member of the Rosary and Altar Society and a charter member of the Catholic Daughters. One of Tillie's greatest pleasures was cooking for her family; she loved to crochet and make many afghans and doilies for her many family members. She spent many enjoyable hours in her garden and made homemade wine from her fruit trees. Her greatest pleasure was being with her family and enjoying special occasions. Tillie was preceded in death by her husband Napoleon "Nap" Martinez on December 31, 2003; her mother Rosita Apodaca on October 27, 2003: her father Manuel T. Apodaca on October 24, 1972, her sister-in-law Ruth Apodaca and her brother-in-law Nick Ulibarri. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by her family. Survivors include a son Patrick Martinez and wife Gloria of Santa Rosa; a daughter Teresa Viramontes and husband Carl of Albuquerque; two brothers Tranquilino Apodaca of Bernalillo, New Mexico, Manuel Apodaca and wife Della of Santa Rosa, NM; two sisters Trancita Robles and husband Orlando of Albuquerque, NM and Lorrie and Benny Maldonado of Albuquerque, NM. Also surviving are four grandchildren Manuel Martinez and fiancee Melanie Salazar, Andre Martinez, Jessyca Flores and husband Frank and Juliette McCoy and husband Sam of Albuquerque along with numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. Rosary Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2009 from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa with Joe Martinez leading the prayers. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 Thursday, January 8, 2009 with Father Antonio Mondragon officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Pallbearers will include Manuel Martinez, Sam McCoy, Andre Martinez, Frank Flores, Larry Apodaca and Ronald Maldonado. MORRIS -- Christopher L. "Chris" Morris, 32, born September 3, 1976, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, December 30, 2008 after a long fought battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Meredith; his daughters, Emily, Lexus, and baby Sakari. His parents Joe and JoAnn Morris; only brother, Phil Morris, all of Albuquerque; also numerous relatives and many friends. A Rosary will be recited Friday, January 9, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd NE. Reception to follow at Church Hall. Interment will follow reception at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE. at 1:00 p.m. Special thanks to everyone at UNM Cancer and Research Center, all the Angels at Ambercare Hospice, and all who kept him in their thoughts, and prayers. MORRISON -- Donald T. Morrison, born May 9, 1959, and a life-long resident of the Albuquerque area died at his home on December 19, 2008. He is survived by his father David M. Morrison; brother, David W. Morrison, brother, Dennis Morrison and sister-in-law Carol Morrison; nephew Josh Morrison; sister Corinne Carmony and brother in law Larry Carmony; nephews Curtis and Nick Carmony; niece Claire Carmony; brother Duane Morrison and sister in law Christine Morrison. His mother, Claire Morrison, precedes him in death. A Service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Centennial Garden 924 Menaul Blvd. on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 3:30 p.m.

PADILLA -- Carlos L. Padilla, 66, a resident of Espanola, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2009 following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezequiel and Adela Padilla; sisters, Delcida Montoya and Epimenia Romero and other loving niece and nephews. Carlos retired after many years of service as a heavy equipment operator for KSL in Los Alamos. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Padilla is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Padilla of Espanola; daughters, Doreen Romero and husband Anthony of Seboyeta, Denise Padilla and Maria Padilla both of Espanola; grandchildren, Carlos Baca and wife Felisia of Albuquerque, Anthony Romero Jr. and Zacary Romero and companion Amanda Aragon, all of Seboyeta; brothers and sisters, Leandro Padilla and wife Rebecca, Rose Lucero all of Cuba, Nancy Herrera and husband Adan, Ezequiel Padilla Jr. and wife Agnes and Lena Lucero all of Albuquerque; great-grandson, Carlos Max Baca II of Albuquerque and numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Cremation is being planned. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall in Arroyo Seco. His grandchildren named as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. SANDOVAL -- Brenda I. Sandoval, 55, of Albuquerque, passed away in her home on December 31, 2008 after a long struggle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents Adela and Leontino Garduno; brother-in-law John Raju; beloved nephew Jerome Holmes and niece Rachel Joy. She is survived by her husband Julian L. R. Sandoval, Sr. of Albuquerque; daughters Juliana Santistevan (Robert) of Ojo Caliente and Neomi Sandoval (Ron Bartrum) of Albuquerque; and son Julian, Jr. (Sherry) of Albuquerque. She leaves four grandsons Robert, Jr., Johnny, Joe, and Jerome and one granddaughter Joeyelle, as well as two step-granddaughters Ashley and Amber. Other survivors are her siblings Sabino (Mele) Vigil, Filia Raju, Theodora (Manuel) Morgas, Paul (Dolores) Garduno, Dorothy (Maurice) Duran, Reyes (Gail) Garduno, Consuelo (Lawrence) Miera, Dora (Leroy) Holmes, and Clyde (Torry) Garduno. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews as well. Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Albuquerque.
