BRENNAN -- Maria "Polly" Brennan, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 21, 2005 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 22, 1919 in San IIdefonso, NM. She left from Lamy to New York in 1943 to serve in the Navy. She is survived by her children: Will and his partner, Melissa, Jerry and his son, Trevor, Kathleen and her partner, Richard. She is also survived by her brother, Martin; her sister, Irene; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Brennan; daughter-in-law, Sara; and eight of her siblings. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church 2610 Utah St. NE 87110 Albuquerque, NM Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. followed by an interment at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. The family extends their profound gratitude to the staff of Assisted Living at the Montebello, and to the staff of Ambercare Hospice for the extraordinary attention and loving care they provided our mother. GALLEGOS -- Maria E. Gallegos, 92, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, December 22, 2005. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Art Cantrell, who provided loving care for her over the past several years. She is also survived by her niece, Maxine Chavez and husband, Ramon; nephew, Celso Jaramillo and wife, Bessie; nephew, Luciano Jaramillo; niece, Bernice Jaramillo; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Josephine Jaramillo; brother, Merced Gallegos; and nephew, Frank Jaramillo. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday December 27, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 1300 Walter St. NE. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday December 28, 2005, also at San Ignacio Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

COSPER -- Maria W. Cosper, age 82, a resident of Bosque Farms, NM, passed away on December 17, 2005. She was a member of American Business Woman's Association (ABWA) for approximately 40 years in Flagstaff, AZ, and Albuquerque, NM. She served as president 4 times during her membership. Maria was very active in working to establish several chapters in the Albuquerque area. She was instrumental in helping to organize a college scholarship program for young girls needing financial help. Maria married her husband, Dolph Cosper in 1968, in Flagstaff, AZ. Dolph worked for Yellow Freight Systems and was transferred to Albuquerque in the early 1970s and moved to Bosque Farms in 1976. Maria is survived by her husband, Dolph Cosper; her son, James Michael Arledge, and two grandchildren, Angel and Richard of San Antonio, TX; and her daughter and husband, Shevawn and Michael Price and two grandchildren, Brandon and Ashley, of Henderson, NV. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at 1200 Parsons St. NE, Albuq., NM. TOLEDO -- Ninfa Cordova Toledo, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, December 21, 2005. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Joe Toledo. They were planning to celebrate their anniversary on December 26th. She is so loved by her devoted husband and family. She is also survived by her four sons: Raymond Toledo and his wife, Pat; Patrick Toledo and his wife, Anna-lena; Gene Toledo and his wife, Martha; Larry Toledo and his wife, Robyn; her five daughters, Margie Hills and her husband, Charles; Maria Ifill and her husband, Oliver; Lorraine Kauffman and her husband, Thomas; Anne Bliss and her husband, Patrick; and Janice Toledo. She has 12 grandchildren: Charles, Nancy, Jeff, Joy, Ben, Kara, Toby, William, Justin, Joseph, Gabriel, and David. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Alexander, Dominique, Kevin, and Charlie. Rosary and Mass Services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at Mt. JIRON -- Olympia. Ms. Olympia Jiron, 96, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 19, 2005. Ms. Jiron is survived by four nieces, Lucille Montoya, Gloria Barron, Stella DeSoto and husband, Joe, Amelia Montoya and husband, Gerald; four nephews, Felix Chavez, Luis Chavez, Fermin Chavez and wife, Mary Lou, Arturo Chavez and wife, Maria; many grand- and great-grand-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Ms. Jiron was a member of the Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters, the Legion of Mary. She was a teacher for the Catron County schools, and was retired from the Tucumcari Schools after 50 years of service. Visitation will be Thursday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Church of the Ascension Catholic Church, 2150 Raymac SW, a Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. by the Legion of Mary with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Pajarito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Montoya, Juanito Montoya, David Harlan-Montoya, Robert Montoya, Steven Montoya and Rose Montoya. Honorary pallbearers will be April and Jolene. FERNANDEZ -- Andres Fernandez, 32, a resident of Albuquerque since 1991, passed away Friday, December 16, 2005. Our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend is survived by his wife of twelve years, Veronica; children, Andy and Andrea; parents, Vicente and Maria Luisa Fernandez; and brothers, Jorge, Alejandro and Oscar. A former NABA Boxing Champion, Andres had an extensive amateur career in which he represented Mexico in the Pan Am games. GARCIA -- William "Willie" C. Garcia, 83, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully at home early on Thursday, December 15, 2005. He is survived by Viola, his wife of 58 years; sisters, Sister Marie Amada of Henderson, NV, and Rita Lawrence and her husband, Russell, of Carolton, TX. Willie, who grew up in the Barelas neighborhood and graduated from St. Mary's High School, is survived by five daughters, Maria Garcia Geer and husband, Rod, Cecilia Garcia, Catherine Garcia Scott and husband, Dan, Lara Garcia, and Imelda Francis and husband, Tim, of Chicago, IL; five sons, Michael and wife, Theresa, John of Albuquerque, NM, Stephen of Bozeman, MT, James and wife, Gloria of Denver, CO, and Mark of San Diego, CA; 19 grandchildren: Jennifer Garcia, Lisa Vaughn and husband, Jeremiah, Jessica Garcia, Charles Garcia, Anna Marie Garcia, Robert Garcia, Joaquin Ortega, Miguel Ortega, Javier Ortega, Anna Geer, Leah Geer, Meredith Scott, Lauren Scott, Matthew Scott, Michaela Garcia, Alaina Garcia, Morena Garcia, Sofia Padilla de Garcia, and Lucas Padilla de Garcia and Kassia Silkins; and three great-grandchildren, Christian Garcia, Ryan Garcia, and Kaitlyn Garcia-Allen. Willie had a lifelong love of music, playing the piano and sharing his favorite songs in Spanish and in English with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramoncita and Charles Garcia; his son, Martin; and his sister, Lena Baca. He served honorably in the Army, Coast Guard, and Navy. He retired from the Naval Reserve as a Chief Petty Officer. Willie was stationed in the Polynesian Islands during WWII. One of his many passions was teaching Spanish to students of all ages. He also once received a special assignment during his varied 30-year career at Sandia National Laboratories to teach English to Albuquerque-based Cuban refugees. Willie also took great pride as a frequent reader during Mass at Holy Ghost Church. Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Candelaria, Ray Candelaria, Robert Garcia, Javier Ortega, Miguel Ortega, Lucas Bojorquez, and Charles Garcia. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, December, 18, 2005, at Salazar & Sons Mortuary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Holy Ghost Church on Monday, December, 19, 2005, at 9:00 a.m. Interment will take place at The National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM at 1:30 p.m. following the Mass.
