Vallegos -- Merejildo"Mike" Vallegos, 68, a resident of Belen, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 2, 1998. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Mike served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the V.F.W. and was a well known area businessman. He owner and operated Mike and Ernest Shamrock Station in Belen, along with his brother for many years. Mike also started the very first Belen car wash. Mike was preceded in death by his very best friends, Eloy Baca and Gillie Gallegos. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Inez; three children, Melvin and his wife, Yolanda of Gallup, NM; Glenda Vallejos-Inda and her husband, Mark of Tampa, FL; and Karen Wancata and her husband, Donny of Cleveland, OH; six grandchildren, Michael, Consuelo, Mark, Eric, Matthew, and Mike; four great-grandchildren, Brandon, Angel, Jacob and Michael; two brothers, Ernest of Belen, and Speedy and his wife, Viola also of Belen; four sisters, Mary Baca and her husband, Julio of Bosque, NM, Louisa Silva of Belen, Angie Silva and her husband, Alex of Bosque, Marcella Gomez and her husband, Paul of Acton, CA. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews as well as special relatives and friends. Viewing will be held on Monday at 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will take place in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael P. Vallegos, Eric Mendoza, Michael A. Vallegos, Elaine Aragon, Loretta Chavez, Gary Marquez, Patrick Marquez and Donald Garley. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Vallegos, Matthew Abeyta, Mike Abeyta, Atalio Chavez, Ross Tafoya, Jimmy Mays, Lalo Silva, Mateo Flores, and Herman Marquez. Zaragoza -- Mary Zaragoza left this life peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on Holy Saturday, April 11, 1998. She was 91 years old, born in Durango, Mexico. She joined her great-nephews, Steven C. Anderson and Robert J. Torres; her parents, Rosa and Lino Zaragoza; sisters, Maria Flores, Emilia Rodriquez; brothers, Antonio and Edwardo Zaragoza. She was a very special and caring Aunt. She is survived by her niece, Isabel Torres; great-nephew, Michael Anderson; great-niece-in-law, Angel Torres; great-great-nephews, Gino and Robert Torres; great-great-niece, Angela Torres and special great-great-great-nephew, Gabriel Robert Torres; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 1998 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Place S.E., where mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., burial to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers, Michael Anderson, Robert Johnson, Gino Torres, Robert Torres, Angela Torres, and Crystal Baca.
