KANESTA -- Andrew Gilbert, 80, a resident of Albuquerque passed away Sunday February 7, 2010. Andrew was born on September 9, 1929 to Percy Kanesta and Bessie Boone. Andrew is survived by his wife of 55 years Eleanore Kanesta., his nine children: son Michael Kanesta of Albuquerque; daughter Elaine K. Baez and husband Eddie of Salt Lake City, Utah; son Maurice Kanesta and wife Jean of Albuquerque; daughter Elvira M. Kanesta and partner Paul Chavez of Los Lunas; son Timothy Kanesta of Albuquerque; daughter Pauline F. Baker and husband Bruce of Ogden, Utah; daughter Rose Eleanore Belone of Albuquerque; daughter Arlinda Scott and partner Brian Zamora of Albuquerque; brother Percy Kanesta and wife Ida; sister Katherine Concho and husband Robert; sister Margie Trujillo and husband Tony; sister Nellie Kanesta; fourteen grandchildren Anthony, K.C, Daniel, Lucas, Samantha, Eric, Rudy, Victoria, Charles, Monica, Mateo, Ashlee, Bryton, Bryanna; fourteen great-grandchildren Kylie, Kyron, Logan, Sierra, Nevaeh, Penny, Aaliyah, Joseph, Anthony, Johnathan, Angela, Trinity. Andrew was preceded in death by father Percy Kanesta; mother Bessie Boone; step-father Paxton Boone; sons: Andrew G. Kanesta Jr., Matthew Girard Kanesta, Henry Richard Kanesta; grandson Isaiah Chavez; great-grandson Angel Paul; and stepson Woody Jim. Andrew will be greatly missed by numerous friends and relatives. Andrew was a Korean War Veteran and a very active Missionary for the LDS Church. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the 8th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. LUCERO -- Lucy Lucero, born May 24, 1914 to Evaristo and Luz (Baca) Lucero, passed away February 9, 2010. She was preceded in death her parents; and siblings: Frances Chavez (Alfred), Sophie Sanchez (Herman), Josie Varela (Willie), Jake Lucero (Petrita) and Della Linson. She was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years, mostly at the Los Lunas Elementary Schools. She was a devoted parishioner of San Clemente Parish in Los Lunas where she was a religious Education director and teacher and lector, where the religious education center was named after her. She served as a lector at Holy Rosary Parish in Albuquerque, member of the Blue Army and supporter of the Southwest Franciscan Missions. During her teaching career she was invited to mentor and train teachers in Honduras. She with her mother and sister, Sophie, loved to travel and she shared many stories, especially of her trips to Rome, Israel and other locations special to Catholic history. She was proud of her family history, always eagerly sharing information of Lucero, Baca, Delgado and Romero family ties. Lucy will be remember for her love of church and family. While she had no children of her own all of her nieces and nephews received the benefit of her love, her desire for education and her support. She is survived by her nieces, nephews: Gene and Yvette Varela (who were her recent caregivers), Henry Chavez, Fred (Elizabeth) Chavez , Carmela Chavez, Tito (Mary) Chavez, Jamie Chavez, Juanita Baca (Deacon Rudy), Frank Chavez (Susan), Frank Chavez (Susan), Martin Varela (Francisca), Ramona Varela, Maria Varela, Billy Varela (Mildred), Theresa Varela, David Varela (Gloria), Helen Tafoya (Albert), and Elizabeth Santamaria (Jose). She is also survived by many special cousins. Serving as pallbearers will be Henry Chavez, Jaime Chavez, Martin Varela, Billy Varela, Eugenio Varela and Diego Varela. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Varela and Frank Chavez In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 417 Agua Fria, Santa Fe, NM, 87501 or Southwest Franciscan Missions, P. O. Box 12395, Albuquerque, NM, 87195. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010, 5:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 13, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery. LUJAN -- Herman Luis Lujan, 59, a resident of Albuquerque passed away January 27, 2010. Mr. Lujan is survived by two brothers, Edward Perez and wife Patsy, Anthony Lujan and wife Letha; two sisters, Marcella Delgado and Pedro Hernandez and Maria Candelaria. Also numerous nieces and nephews. A Special Thank You to Princeton Place Nursing Home and Heartland Hospice for the caring and treatment of Herman. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund as been set up in Herman's name at Rio Grande Credit Union. Cremation has taken place and a Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 13, 2010 at San Jose Mission Duranes in Los Duranes 2110 Los Luceros Rd. NW in Albuquerque at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date.

MANG -- Shanna L. Mang, 28, a resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010. Shanna is survived by her parents, Thomas and Merlinda Mang; her brothers and sisters, Bengy Maestas Jr. and wife, Therese, Richard Maestas, Arleen Crooks, Robert Maestas and wife, Cathy, T. J. Mang and wife, Melanie; her grandparents, Howard and Grace Black; her aunts and uncles, David Marquez and wife, Pauline, Ron Marquez and wife, Julia; nieces and nephews, Brian Maestas, Renee Maestas, Brianna Crooks, Jayden Mang, Jasmine Mang; her fiance, Michael Frison; and many extended family, friends and coworkers at the Cancer Center. Shanna attended St. Mary's Catholic School, St. Pius X High School, and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1999. Visitation will be Friday, February 12, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Marta Ortiz, reciter. Final Visitation will be Saturday, February 13, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at the church with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Father Gene Greis, presider. Interment will follow at Mt. NEFF -- Francine Irving Neff, 84, passed away at her home in Pena Blanca, NM on February 9, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Neff; and by her parents Edward Hackett Irving and Georgia Henderson Irving of Mountainair, NM. She is survived by son Edward Vann Neff; daughter Sindle Sandoval and husband Chris; sister Shirley Irving Fisher; brother-in-law, George Neff; sister-in-law, Barbara Neff; nieces and nephews and many friends. Francine was born December 6, 1925 in Albuquerque, NM. she graduated from Mountainair High School in 1944, from Cottey College in 1946, from the University of New Mexico in 1948. Francine married Edward J. Neff, cofounder of Neff and Company CPA's on graduation day June 7, 1948. Francine was a charter member of Chapter AL, P.E.O., a member of Alpha Delta Pi, and a member of St. John's Episcopal Cathedral. She served as president of Inez Elementary School P.T.A., den mother of her son's cub scout group, leader of her daughter's Camp Fire Girls group, state sponsor of N.M. Teenage Republicans, president of Mortar Board Alumnae, president of N.M. Society of CPA's Auxiliary, president of City Pan-Hellenic Alumnae. Francine became politically active in the Republican Party and was elected National Committeewoman from New Mexico in 1970. She served with George H. W. Bush on the Republican National Executive Committee 1972- 1974 and was appointed the 35th Treasurer of the United States in 1974. She served as National Director of the United States Savings Bond Division until 1977. Francine served as an outside Director on the Boards of Directors for E-Systems/Raytheon, Hershey Foods Corporation, Louisiana-Pacific Corporation, and D.R. Horton, Inc. She served on the Board of Trustees for Cottey College 1982 - 1987, the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services (DACOWITZ) 1981 - 1984, Lovelace Medical Center Board of Advisors 1979- 1982, Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors 1978- 1981. Francine was awarded honorary degrees from Mount St. Mary's College, American International College and New Mexico State University. Funeral mass will be held at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John's, 315 Silver S.W., at 10:00 a.m. on Friday February 12, 2010. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any memorial contributions be sent to a charity of choice or to the P.E.O. Foundation.

RAEL -- Josefa (Chavez) Rael, age 91, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010. She was born on August 8, 1918 in Pecos, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque. Mrs. Rael enjoyed music, especially Mariachi music, dancing and enjoyed the simple things of life. She was preceded in death a son, J.R. Lopez (may he rest in peace); and grandsons, Joseph Ortega and Orlando Ortega. Mrs. Rael is survived by her loving children, Steffie Lopez, Orlando Lopez and wife Hope, Angie Ashton and husband David, Teresa Sanchez, Mary Lopez, Dorothy Leja and husband David, Maryann Lopez and Joe Rael; 27 grandchildren; and 57 great-grandchildren. Josefa will be greatly missed by all. Visitations will be this evening (Thursday) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services - Alameda Mortuary, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 9502 Fourth Street NW. RAWLS -- Jane (Marguerite) Rawls, 71, a loving wife, mother and Mamma, of Albuquerque NM since 1979, died Tuesday February 9, 2010. She is survived by her husband Jim of Albuquerque; children, Tim of Denver, CO, Scott of Anchorage, AK, and Ken of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren Lawrence, Calvin, Sean, Shaylee, Todd, Devin, Tiffany and Nick; great-grandchildren Caitlin, Chanel, Cadence and Gideon. She was an active member of First Christian Church as well as the Red Hat Society. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 12, 2010 at First Christian Church, 10101 Montgomery Blvd. NE. SANCHEZ -- Sharyn Atkins Sanchez,72, passed away February 7, 2010 with her family by her side. She was a longtime resident of Albuquerque. She is survived by her brother, Ronald Atkins; her eldest son, Ken Lebian; her daughters, Kim Moya and husband Larry, and Kelly Lebian; Also her grandchildren Larry Jr., Melissa, Pete Jr., Justine, Elizabeth, David, Sarah, Amanda; and 13 great-grandchildren. SHIVELY -- Margaret Ruth Shively, 89, resident of Albuquerque, passed into Heaven Saturday, February 6, 2010. Margaret was in good health, until she had a massive stroke on Wednesday evening. She is survived by her daughter, Lindeth Vasey of Great Britain; son, Lloyd Lawrence Shively and wife, Patricia of Corrales, NM; granddaughter, Deborah Ponce and husband, Steven; and great-granddaughters, Cadence Ponce and Scarlette Ponce; step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Ponce. She will be reunited in Heaven with her husband, Lawrence Shively; and parents, Lucien and Edith Voorhees of Twin Falls, Idaho. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Donald, Lucien, and Leslie Voorhees. Margaret was a loving giver who passed her piano skills on to her granddaughter.
