MCCUTCHEON -- James H. McCutcheon. After 97 wonderful years, James H. McCutcheon passed away on October 29, 2009. He was born in Rochelle Park, N.J. on August 29, 1912 to Charles and Daisy McCutcheon. He lived in Albuquerque for many years before moving to Las Cruces. He retired from Sandia Labs in 1972. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lillian; and their daughter, Muriel Sue Edgel. He is survived by his daughters, Loye Hardee and husband Harry of Las Cruces; Margie Crump and husband Rick of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Dr. James Hardee and wife Pam of Colorado; Suzanne Halvorson and husband Tom of Arizona; Nicole Gabel and husband Brandon of Santa Fe; Richelle Birdsall and husband Gabe of Texas; and Andrea Streight and husband Zach of California. There are seven great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Aaron Hardee, Ethan, Morghan, and Maddox Birdsall, Tyler and Kailey Streight. Jim's joys in life were his beloved family, his many friends, stamp collecting, bridge, and traveling. ROMERO -- Esther H. Romero, age 84, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, went to her heavenly home to be with the Lord, Friday, October 30, 2009, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Santa Rosa, NM on January 15, 1925. She was preceded in death by her sons, Anthony and Geronimo Romero; and by her brother Charles. Esther is survived by her loving children, Robert Romero and wife Dolores, Vickie Morse, Rudy Romero and wife Patsy, Mark Romero and wife Sylvia, Geraldine Garduno, Charlotte Valerio and husband Charles, Esther Garcia and husband Dan, and Patricia Rivera; her grandchildren, Debbie, John, Lori, Lawrence, Annette, Bernadette, Ronald, Anthony, Rick, Mark, Santiago, Augustina, Eric, Leroy, Julian, Bennigna, Jamie, Alfredo and Elias; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother, Ernest Hoehne and wife Marcella; sister, Gloria Montoya; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Mom bore her illness well and complained very little. She tried to meet life with a sense of humor up until the end. One of her last quips when asked what the DNR band on her wrist stood for, she politely replied, "Dinner No Reservations". Good bye Mom, grandma you're in a better place now. We love you. Esther will be greatly missed by all. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services - Alameda Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd., NW. A Private cremation will follow. STULL -- Lillian Elizabeth Stull, 72, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, October 30, 2009. She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Booth, Mary Marusak, Nancy Betik all of Ennis, TX, and Barbara Doughty of Seattle, WA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Stull; and her niece, Beth Green. On 7/24/1975 she married Charles Stull in Houston. In the early 80s they moved to Albuquerque. On 5/15/1983 she received her Master's degree from UNM. She retired from the Rio Rancho School District. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, November 4, 2009, 12:00 p.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW. BUEHLER -- Beatrice, "Bea" peacefully passed away on October 31, 2009. She is survived by her son, Charles Buehler and wife, Karen of Rio Rancho, NM; four grandchildren, Jennifer Buehler, Jessica Hommel, Sean Buehler and wife, Tammy, Jennifer Fergusen and husband, Kevin; eleven great grandchildren, Tatum, Nicholas, Austin, Caitlyn, Evyn, Mason, Carley, Opal, Walker, Carson, and Deliah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Buehler Sr.; son, Albert Buehler; sisters, Maclovia "Toto" Medina and Mary Louise Fuentes; brothers, Charles and Frank Fuentes. Bea was born in El Paso, TX in 1928 and is a graduate of Austin High School also earning a Bachelors and Masters degree from the University of Texas El Paso. HAMILTON -- TSgt. Robert Hamilton, USAF (Ret.), 79, died October 27, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Pat; daughter Joy; two nephews; Charlie Hamilton and wife Janice and Jay Hamilton and wife Kris and many other friends and family members including Hoodat. Bob was preceded in death by his parents James and Henrietta Hamilton and three brothers, Lawrence, Dan and Charles. Mr. Hamilton served in the US Air Force before retiring after 20 years of service. He was very active in the American Legion Post 49 where he served as Commander and the Ballud Abyad Shrine. Services will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2009, 11:00 am, at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel, with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. STARKS -- Charles Henry Starks, passed away on October 20, 2009 in Canon City, Colorado, he was 89. Chuck, as his friends knew him, was born on August 28, 1920 in Waco, Texas to Charles and Mabel Louise (Carrico). Mr. Starks is survived by his daughter Amy (Jim) Rigney, of Pittsboro, NC; step-son, Don (Carrie) Driver, of Howard, Colorado; Son Fred Starks of Evansville, IL; and step-daughter, Linda (Vernon) Jones of Jasper, Georgia; His grandchildren, Chris (Dawn) Rigney, Eric (Emily) Rigney, Joey Driver, Becky (Daniel) Smith, Miranda Starks, Kyle Starks, Kenneth Jones, and Keith Jones; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Rigney, Bailey, Shawna and Emily Smith, and Julia and Travis Jones. Also survived by brothers-in-law, Walter (Bernice) Cole of Albuquerque and Bob (Deb) Wilson of Sun City, Arizona; nephews, Gary, Bryce, and Robert Cole, and niece, Vanessa. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gloria; and grandson Richard Driver. Services for Mr. Starks will be held next July in Santa Fe at the National Cemetery. GABALDON -- Josephine Gabaldon, age 85, a life-long resident of Los Chavez and recently of Los Lunas, NM passed away on Friday, October 30, 2009. She was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church and Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, Catholic Daughter for 36 years and Sacred Heart. After raising six children, she became a school bus driver for the Belen Schools, which included being a school bus driver instructor. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, watching Wheel of Fortune, weekly Bible Study, and daily visits from grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Martita Gabaldon; her loving husband of 47 years, Abelino Gabaldon; son-in-law, Denny Gallegos and grandson, Denny M. Gallegos. Josephine is survived by her six children, Gene Gabaldon and wife, Mary Stella, Martha Giron, Adela Baldonado and husband, Mike, Katy Gallegos, Dolores Gabaldon and Sam Espinosa, Roberta Griego and husband, Michael; 12 grandchildren, Abelino and Roberto Gabaldon, Eloy Gerard, Charles and Vincent Giron, Barbara Michael, Michelle "Dina" and Mario Baldonado, Steven and Kristopher Rayner, Candice Griego-Siebenthal and Justine Griego; 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy Cordova and Helen Salas and two sisters-in-law, Ninfa and Annie Gabaldon. All services will be held at San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas, beginning with a viewing on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 2:30 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. MAY -- Paul Charles May, 38, died Sunday, October 25, 2009. Mr. May was a beloved husband, son, and brother. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis May and his sister, Lynn Gallo, both of New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Melanie Renee Taylor May; father, Robert F. May, Command Master Chief (R) and Penny May, step-mother; sisters, Diane May, Command Sergeant Major and Laurie Burkholder; and a brother-in-law, Jose Gallo (USMC) and two nephews, Brian and Robert Gallo. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Veda and Walt Johnson; sisters and brothers-in-law and their children, Steve, Stefanie and Caroline Strickland, Tisha Brookshire, Colton Brookshire and Tori Vasquez, and Gary and Veda Pelham. He was employed by the State of Alabama by the State Health Planning and Development Agency. Mr. May enjoyed hunting and working in his yard. Most of all, Mr. May enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be sorely missed by their dogs and cats. He served in the first Gulf War Desert Storm in the Navy aboard the Battleship USS Missouri. A Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 29, 2009 with the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Leak-Memory Chapel in Montgomery, Alabama with Rev. NICKERSON -- Opal Ellen Nickerson, 92, a resident of Algodones since 2003, resident of Albuquerque since 1955, died Monday, October 26, 2009. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Sanchez and husband, Andy, from Algodones and Rae Ellen Nickerson from Albuquerque; son, Charles Nickerson and wife, Tricia, from Mission Viejo, CA; grandchildren, Aaron, Shalom, Lucas, Cisco, Daniel, and Anna Sanchez, Christen Catlin, Mindy Nickerson, and Wade Thrasher; as well as 10 great-grandchildren, with 4 on the way. GONZALES -- GEORGE ANTHONY GONZALES. January 21, 1958 -October 23, 2009 George "Anthony" Gonzales, 51, was called home on October 23, 2009 after a courageous ten year battle with cancer. He was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on January 21, 1958 to George and Celina Gonzales. Anthony, a gentle soul, revolved his life around God and family. Anthony was a devout Catholicteaching catechism and confirmation at San Isidro Church and singing with the 8:00 am choir. He co-founded AM 810 Que Suave Radio and the "Santa Fe Hometown News." Anthony blessed people with his voice and inspired his sons' and daughter's musical and theatrical talents. Anthony's life was dedicated to his wife and best friend, Gigi; sons Anthony "Bubba" and Joshua; and daughter, Gianna. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Juan J. and Dora Vigil, and Alejandro and Porfillia Gonzales. He is survived by his loving wife, Gigi; sons: Anthony "Bubba" and Joshua; and daughter, Gianna; parents, George and Celina Gonzales; brothers: Patrick, Javier, and Estevan; in-laws, Mary Jo and Orvil Bradley; sisters in-law: Karmella Borrego-Gonzales, Consuelo Carrillo, Adi-Risa Gonzales, Jackie Bradley-Ortiz, and Christine Bradley ; brothers in-law: Vince Bradley, Chris Bradley, Anthony Bradley-Ortiz, and Duke Bradley; nieces: Alexandra, Mariah, Basiea, Paige, Cameron, and Cadence; nephews: Lee, Christopher, Michael, Damien, Isaiah, Rico, Cisco, Adaiah, and Asher; great-nephews: Charles Xavier and Jareth Solomon; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
