TATE -- Vera Belle Tate (Connell-Snoddy) age 75, died October 31, 2009 in Choctaw, OK at 2:57 a.m. after a year and a half battle with lung cancer. Born April 27, 1934 in Amarillo TX. She is survived by her three boys, Mitch in Tulia TX, Shawn in Phoenix AZ and Kelly in San Diego CA; two brothers; two granddaughters; and her friend Bill W; Her mother Myrtle Creek; father Charles Robert Tate; and brother Charlie preceded her in death. No services will be held. Special thanks to her niece, Susan Edwards for her loving care in her final months.

THRAP -- Robert L. Thrap, 88, died peacefully in his sleep on November 5th, following a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Virginia Thrap; daughter Patricia Buehler; son Lloyd Thrap; Bella Candelaria and husband Sam; grandchildren Sean Buehler and wife Tammi; Jennifer Buehler; Lisa Pino; Gina Madrid and husband Joe; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Robert served in the US Army. He retired from Los Alamos National Laboratories. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church located at 1818 Coal Place SE. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice de la Luz who provided gentle and loving care to Robert during his last four months of life. Direct Burial Services is in charge of cremation.

GONZALES -- Carmen Gonzales, born in Casa Colorada, New Mexico to Valentin and Antonia Sais, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Francisco (Kiko); children, Elizabeth Gonzales Pimentel and husband Robert, Maurice Gonzales, Malcom Gonzales and fiancee Elsa Glassman, Elaine Gonzales, and Emily Lucero and husband John; grandchildren, Lawrence Gonzales, Angela Lucero, Catherine Lucero, Marie Lucero; great-granddaughter Shiloh Gonzales, sisters; Dina Bisio and Sylvia Armijo; and numerous other family and friends. LOPEZ -- Elsie Lucille Lopez, age 73 went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents Max and Erlinda (Baca) Tachias; her sister Lydia Tachias; and brother Charles Tachias. Elsie is survived her longtime companion, Javier Ruedas; her daughters, Lillian Lopez, and Tammi Lopez; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her siblings; Roy Tachias, Max Tachias, Rudy Tachias, Arnold Tachias, Orpha Tachias, Nora Anaya and Patricia Zuniga many nieces and nephews and countless friends. Elsie's greatest love and joy was always her family. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m., all to be held at the 8th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. BEAN -- Richard Gates (Dick) Bean, Sr. of Roswell, New Mexico died peacefully the afternoon of Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the age of 90 while watching the Dallas Cowboys football game. A life-long resident of Roswell, New Mexico, Mr. Bean was born on the family farm to the late Robert Perry Bean, Jr. and Verda Lee Gates Bean on December 1, 1918. In his youth, Mr. Bean had an extensive paper route throughout Roswell and was a master tennis player. He also served as the fingerprint technician for his father who was the Sheriff of Chaves County. Mr. Bean graduated from Roswell High School in 1936. In 1942, he graduated with highest honors from the University of Texas with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He then attended the University of Arizona School of Law, graduating second in the class of 1946. Mr. Bean then returned to Roswell to begin his sixty-three year practice of law, first in the field of family law and then later in estate planning and trusts. Mr. Bean was elected to two terms as the Roswell City Attorney in 1952 and 1954 and served as the president of the Chaves County Bar Association in 1953 and 1954. He also served on the School Board from 1959 through 1965 and served as a County Commissioner of Chaves County from 1974 to 1976. In 1995, at the age of 76, Mr. Bean was elected the Chaves County Probate Court Judge, serving two consecutive four-year terms. Mr. Bean was fondly known as "Mr. Democrat" in Chaves County. Mr. Bean was a member of the Chaves County Bar Association and was active in the Roswell Sertoma Club for more than 60 years, receiving the "Service to Mankind" award in the 1970s. He served on the boards of the Roswell Humane Society and the Roswell Boys Club. Mr. Bean also collected vintage cars and was an active member of the Valley Vintage Antique Car Club. Mr. Bean is survived by his wife of 54 years, Martha Winder Bean; and their children, son Richard Gates Bean, Jr. and his wife Lynda of Harker Heights, Texas; and daughter Martha Lee Bean of Allen, Texas. He also is survived by his three grandsons, Richard Gates Bean, III, Taylor Rhea Bean, and Morgan Alexander Bean, all of Harker Heights, Texas; Mr. Bean also is survived by four nephews, R. Perry Bean, IV and his wife Sue of Midlothian, Texas, William W. (Tad) Osborn and his wife Kim of Roswell, New Mexico, John Winder and his wife Patti of Pullman, Washington, and Jim Winder and his wife Katrina of Hillsboro, New Mexico; Mr. Bean also is survived by four nieces, Patricia Bean Mason and her husband Ben of Taos, New Mexico, Janet "Enid" Osborn-Schneidemen and her husband Jay of Santa Barbara, California, Louise Long of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Nancy Winder-Mitthof and her husband Axel of Viola, Idaho. Also surviving Mr. Bean are his sister-in-law Hermie Childs Bean Davis of Midlothian, Texas; and his adopted son J. T Bowyer, his wife Iris and daughter Lindsey of Harker Heights, Texas Mr. Bean was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Perry Bean, III; and his nephew Richard Terry Bean. Pallbearers are J. T. Bowyer, William W. (Tad) Osborn, Ben Mason, Kenny Forrest, Greg Eiffert and Parker Eiffert. Honorary Pallbearers are Senator Timothy Z. Jennings, Tom Jennings, Robert Chewning, Morgan Nelson, Lowell Davina, Joe Phillips, Lowell Hughes, Stan Santheson, James P. Johns, Tim Whalen, Charles Chewning, John Bonds and all members of the Chaves County Bar Association. Services for Richard Gates (Dick) Bean will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Roswell, New Mexico. Interment will immediately follow the services at South Park Cemetery in Roswell. Preceding the services, family and friends are invited to a luncheon at 12:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. All funeral arrangements are being handled by LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Roswell, New Mexico. Flowers may be sent to LaGrone's Funeral Home or to the First United Methodist Church. Memorial donations may be sent to either the Cowboy Bell Scholarship Fund at the First United Methodist Church in Roswell, New Mexico or to the Roswell Humane Society.

MAESTAS -- Pamela M. Maestas, 51, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away November 2, 2009. Mrs. Maestas was preceded in death by her grandparents Donila and Silas Gallegos; and nephew Max Marcos Martinez. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Richard Maestas of Albuquerque; children Nicholas and Erika Maestas; parents Max and Evangeline Martinez; father and mother-in-law Joe Harpy and Theresa Maestas; brother Max Martinez and his wife Becky; sister Tammy Ulibarri and husband, Ronald; and many other relatives and friends. She was a member of Church of the Risen Savior. Pam lived life to the fullest and brought her positive outlook to everyone. She loved camping, fishing, hunting, and most of all, her family. RUBIO-AZARTE -- Eduardo Rubio-Arzate, 56, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. He was a longtime resident of Albuquerque and worked as a jewelry designer. He is survived by his father, Fernando Rubio Dominguez; siblings, Alicia Rubio and husband Armando Charles, Fernando Rubio and wife Laura, Anna Rubio and late husband Jorge Carrillo, Antonio Rubio and wife Teresa Cortazer, and Rosario Rubio; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who loved him and will miss him. Services will be held St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Josephs, NW. (Coors and St. Josephs) On Wednesday, November 4, 2009. STULL -- Lillian Elizabeth Stull, 72, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, October 30, 2009. She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Booth, Mary Marusak, Nancy Betik all of Ennis, TX, and Barbara Doughty of Seattle, WA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Stull; and her niece, Beth Green. On 7/24/1975 she married Charles Stull in Houston. In the early 80s they moved to Albuquerque. On 5/15/1983 she received her Master's degree from UNM. She retired from the Rio Rancho School District. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, November 4, 2009, 12:00 p.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW.
