JIRON, MICKY MONTOYA ANN Micky Ann Montoya Jiron, age 60, passed away 2/6/15 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born in Okinawa on 12/19/54 to Manuel and Tatsue Montoya and was raised in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband Harold Jiron. She is survived by her son Vincent Montoya and Stephanie and their children, Andrew, Marcus, Joshua and Jordyn; her daughter Olivia Jiron Baca and Adam and their children, Jade, Mariah, Adam Jr, Erica and Giovanna; her sister Tina Archuleta and Alan and nieces Jonell Tafoya and Daniela Sierra. She is also survived by Michael Gonzales; stepdaughter Chanell Gallegos and Max and their children Ryan and Isaiah. Micky will be remembered for the love she had for her family and for music, her genuine personality and sense of humor. She is blessed to have had the unconditional love she received from her family. Services will be at Direct Funeral Home, 2919 4th St. NW on Friday, February 13th at 7:00 PM.

GALLEGOS, ALBERT Albert Gallegos, age 64, went to be with our Lord on February 4, 2015. He was born on February 19, 1950 in Carrizozo, NM to Luciano Gallegos and Juanita Pacheco. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carlos, Luciano Jr.; sisters, Josephine and Pilar. He passed on to be with his family in heaven. He worked for the City of Albuquerque for 30 years. Along with, SP4 Gallegos Services in Vietnam 1968-1969 where he received the Bronze Star and Army commendation medals. He leaves behind his wife, Mary Margaret; daughters, Andrea Gallegos, January Gallegos, and Natalie Chavez and husband Zack; son, Michael Gallegos; granddaughter, Aubri Chavez; brothers, Tingo, Frank, Faustino, Willie; sisters, Sophia, Lucy, Helen, Becky, Pauline; nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, extended family and many friends that were considered family. He was loved by all who knew him. His loving heart will be missed. He fought a valiant fight in God's loving arms. JOJOLA, MARTIN 1927-2015 Martin Jojola, a resident of Belen, NM went to be with our Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Martin served overseas in the United States Armed Forces. He was a sharp shooter and marksman. Martin was an honest, kindhearted, hardworking man who loved sports and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed being outdoors and growing his own green chile. Martin had a great sense of humor and loved to sing. Most of all he loved sharing his life with his loving and devoted wife. He was preceded in death by his first born son, Martin Ramon; parents, Abran and Ascension Gallegos Jojola; brother, Pat Jojola and wife, Sophie; sisters, Toni Vallejos and Josephine and husband, Frank Landavazo; and granddaughter, Crystal Nicole Jojola. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Clorinda Jojola; his children and their spouses, Mercy and George Otero, Valerie and Dale Davis, Marty and Beatrice Jojola; grandchildren, Renee Otero, Derrick and Monica Otero, Curtis Davis, Tristen Davis, Angelo Jojola, Jeremey Jojola and Dustin Jojola; great-grandchildren, Jerrick, Micah, Maddix and Joaquin Otero; and brother, Samuel Jojola. All services were held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Interment followed at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. TRENT, LORRAINE J. 1922-2015 Lorraine J. Trent, age 93, born on February 21, 1922 and passed away on January 29, 2015. She was born in Chicago, IL to Leslie Sr. and Bertha Watkins Trent. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Effie Hill and Bernice Sowa; brothers, Cpl. Nelson Trent, 1st Ranger Division, WWII 1943 and Sgt. Leslie R. Trent Jr., M.P. Vietnam 1979. Lorraine leaves behind her niece, Jeanne L. Kooi (John); great-niece, Julie Kooi-Schackle (Paul) their children, Lindsey and Justin; great-nephew, John L. Kooi (Duke Jr.); dear friend, Mary A. Kooi (Len deceased) their daughter, Gabrielle; a life-long friend for over 50 years, Alice Fisher who preceded her in death; Margaret "Peg" Murrihy and Tom both deceased, their children Tom (Colleen) and Alish (Tom) Deedre, Brandon deceased and Brian (Katrina) with many nieces and nephews; dear friend to Marcia Smith all from the Chicago, IL area. Lorraine graduated from Kelly High School. After attending Wilson College she was awarded a scholarship to The American College of Education. She was also a member of the Phi Delta Sorority and graduated second in her class. She then started working for the Chicago Park District for 38 years. Lorraine started out as a physical education instructor at Garfield Park, working her way up to Park Superior at Chaplin Park and was eventually promoted to Physical Activities Area 8. She also cooked at Dvorak Portage, and Loyola Parks in Chicago. Lorraine worked many years at Notre Dame High School. She loved her teaching career. Lorraine was firm but fair, she touched many lives and left a wonderful legacy. She danced professionally with Ernie Young's at the state fair, and also at the Chicago Theatre. After retirement Lorraine moved to Belen, New Mexico (Rio Communities). She then became very active and devoted to the Sheriff's Office as a volunteer. She joined Tierra del Sol Community Center where she was a member of the Golf Association and was a past President. She enjoyed two holes in one during her year on the course. She was active in many clubs and organizations. She spent twenty eight years at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She became a Eucharist Minister serving the parishioners who were home bound. Lorraine was a "Parish Marshall" in 2001 in the church fiesta. Lorraine was a frequent traveler. One of her favorite trips was when she and Alice took a "seven week" freighter trip, a three week African Safari, a trip to China, Tahiti, and many trips to Caneel Bay, Virgin Islands. As well as many cruises throughout Europe. After leaving her home in Belen she moved in 2005 to Brookdale Place Retirement Home in Albuquerque. She became very active there as a secretary and was on the welcoming committee. She always referred to Brookdale as her home away from home where she also enjoined the Holy Ghost Parish. A very special thank you to Father David Gallegos, OSM and Father and Pastor Tom Greaney for all their guidance. Also a special thank you to Father Stephen Schultz and all deacons for their leadership and sincere help. A sincere thank you to Father Mark Schultz's eagerness to help everyone from the Holy Ghost Parish. At last a special thank you to my loving family, my wonderful neighbors and friends, Bertha Lightfoot, LaVonne Alfott and ever so many more. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Friday, February 6th beginning with a Visitation at 9:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. WILLIAMS, RAMONA ISABEL Age 81, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015. She was born in Nambe, NM on December 3, 1933, to Samuel and Aurora (Rivera) Alarid. She attended Los Alamos High School. Ramona enjoyed making shadow boxes and she attended the Holy Ghost Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Michael Marquez; brother-in-law Louis Marquez; and several other extended family members. Ramona is survived by children, Valerie Gallegos, Greg Williams and his wife Barbara, and Elizabeth Shipman; her siblings, Ersilia Rael, Lydia Marquez, and Diego Alarid; five grandchildren, Rhiannon Martinez, Melanie Williams, Jason Williams, Ashley Shipman, and Aaron Shipman; two great-grandchildren, Alicia Martinez and Kaedyn Williams, all of Albuquerque, NM; and her beloved dog, Baby. The Pallbearers will be Aaron Shipman, Harold Marquez, John Paul Martinez, John Deer, Steve Burke, and Anthony Rael; Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Williams and Joseph Alarid. DEROLF, LAVINIA J. (GALLEGOS) passed away at age 93 on January 27, 2015. She lived a unique and blessed life, with husbands Ted Vigil, Harvey Parry, Paul DeRolf; and three loving children, Ron Vigil, and spouse, Cathryn, of Albuquerque, NM, Mary Elizabeth Vigil of NYC and Diane Ensley, and spouse, Dave, of Big Bear Lake, CA; three grandchildren, Jenny Chiavetta and husband Mark, Joe Vigil and wife Sarah, and Kameron Hardy; and four great-grandchildren. Family was her greatest joy. Her death completes the passing of the Aurelia and Joaquin Gallegos family, which included five daughters and one son. Her vitality and quick-witted sense of humor, till her final days, will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a hospice or a charity of your choice. ROMERO, LEVI A. Funeral Services have been changed due to weather conditions. Levi A. (LA) Romero, New Mexican son, friend, brother, husband, and father, born in Velarde, New Mexico to Flavio and Cirila (nee Martinez) Romero on April 23, 1931, died quietly on January 27, 2015 in Sun City, AZ after a long and private battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Levi proudly served three tours as a sergeant in the Korean War earning a Purple Heart. He worked in the New Mexico state government for many years in the department of finance administration as well as in the department of corrections and as warden of NM Penitentiary. He also worked as a private accountant, and taught college accounting. After his retirement from state government, he returned to work as City Manager of Espanola before retiring again with his beloved wife, Frina (nee Gallegos), to Sun City. Levi was married to Frina, whom he preceded in death, for 57 years and leaves behind his children, Levi A. Romero Jr., Annamaria Romero-Lehrer, Socorro Snow, Josina Romero O'Connell, and Cristina Castaneda; as well as his loving sons-in-law; 13 grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. He now rests in peace leaving us all with memories of a great man who had a quick wit, handsome grin, musical talent, and infectious laughter that liberally peppered the many stories he loved telling. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Velarde. Please join us for a Rosary before the Mass at 10 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. You may also join us for his interment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3rd. Levi would ask for the flowers of your prayers rather than real flowers at his grave and his family asks that if you are so moved, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, Sun City, AZ.
