LUCERO -- Flaminio Lucero Jr., 56, was born December 4, 1949 and passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2006. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Lee and wife, Desta; granddaughter, Miranda; daughter, Cynthia Ramirez and husband, Gilbert and expected granddaughter. Junior is also survived by his close brother, Ernie and wife, Lucy; brother, Marshall; sisters, Mary and Sandra; and numerous nieces and nephews. STEPHENSON -- Joan Stephenson died on January 16, 2006 at 10:35 a.m. due to respiratory failure. She lived at 8409 Gutierrez NE Albuquerque, NM for 26 years. Joan was born in New York and lived there for 48 years. She moved to New Mexico in 1980 to be close to her only two sons, John and Anthony. Joan worked at Metro Court for 17 years and made many friends. She attended Church of the Risen Savior. Joan is survived by her loving husband, JT Musgrave; sons, John and Anthony and their wives, Cheryl and Andrea. She had eight grandchildren, Jessica, Tonia, TJ, Jack, Sloan, Sonia, Gilbert and Stephanie. She also had seven great-grandchildren, Kodie, Dakota, Adrianna, Jazmyn, Pearl, Brianna and JoJo. She has many close relatives and friends both in New York and here. Uncle Al, aunt Sara, Phillis, Dolores, aunt Lena, Margaret Rose, Philip and Butchie. They meant everything to her. She was a very strong and loving woman who will always be remembered. There will never be another woman like her. We will love and miss her very much. Her memorial will be held at the Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM on January 24, 2006 at 11:30 a.m.

SANCHEZ -- Estella M. Sanchez, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1989, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2006. She was born on December 6, 1912 in Levy, NM. She was the daughter of a large family, descendents of the first Spanish settlers to New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Cristobal Sanchez; her parents, Jose Demetrio and Beneriza; brothers, Jose, Alberto, Macario, and Ted; and sisters, Marie Trujillo, Emelina Ortega and Clara Padilla. She is survived by twelve children; Gloria Sanchez and husband Arthur; Connie Montoya; Christine Baca and husband Gilbert; Theresa Valdez and husband Ray; Anthony Sanchez and wife Francielle; Leo Sanchez, Edward Sanchez, and Patricia Sanchez, all of Santa Fe; Peggy Vigil and husband Paul of Rio Rancho; Mary Ann Thibodeau, Cris Sanchez and wife Dolores; and Angela Roybal of Albuquerque. She is also survived by two brothers; Agustin Medina and wife Toni of Price, UT, and Joe Medina and Martha of Santa Fe; four sisters, Manuelita Lucero of Las Vegas, NM,; Lala Leyba and Lola Witko of Los Angeles, CA; and Frances Apodaca and husband Roman, also of Santa Fe, NM; 34 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Estella was a member of the Shrine of St. Bernadette and was a Secular Order Franciscan Aspirant. She was a second mother to many of the children which she cared for in the 50's and 60's and was known for her hospitality, kindness, spirituality, and willingness to help others. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 16, 2006 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE . A rosary will be recited on Monday, January 16, 2006 at 7:00 p.m at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. A mass will be celebrated at the Shrine of St. Bernadette on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. Private interment will be at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. CORDOVA -- Jose Ernesto Cordova, 82, a resident of Albuquerque NM passed away on January 9, 2006, after a lengthy illness. Ernesto was born on May 14, 1923, in Fort Collins, Colorado, and was raised in San Cristobal, NM. He had been an Albuquerque resident for the past 40 years. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1941 to 1942. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during World Was II. He received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Philippine Liberation Victory Medal. Ernesto retired from the New Mexico State Highway Department. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Emma Herrera Cordova and his children Sylvia Ketterman and husband Tom, Edmund Cordova and wife Jennifer, Frances Prieto and husband Ruben, and David Cordova. Grandchildren, Ruben John Prieto, David Ketterman, Edmund Michael Cordova, Jacob Prieto, Alicia Cordova de Unruh and Miranda Cordova. He is also survived by sisters - Flora Jackson, Pearl Cordova, Julia Medina, Ester Cordova, Adelida Martinez, and Annabel Cordova. He was preceded in death by parents Florencio and Manuelita Cordova and brothers Gilbert and Raymond; and a grandson, Mateo Cordova. He is also survived by his faithful canine companion, Babo. Ernesto was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion Post 99, and the VA Walking group. He was an exceptionally devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Viewing will be from 12:30 to 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 15, followed by a Rosary at 1:00 PM at Sunrise Funeral Options, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. BACA -- Alfonso P. Baca, age 70, passed away January 10, 2006. He is survived by his children, Sharon Romero, Onnica Sanchez; and stepson, Gilbert Leyba. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his brother, Pat Baca; sisters Evangeline Gonzales, Bertha Sweeney Rosina Montano, and Veronica Gonzales. He also leaves behind 13 nephews and 11 nieces. Alfonso was a veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Navy. Memorial Services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Tijeras Ward, 12701 Indian School Rd. NE.
