JARAMILLO -- Libby Maxine Jaramillo, age 59, passed away on January 31, 2006. She was born in Tome, NM on September 6, 1946. Libby spent many years working for the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, joking, dancing, and cooking. Libby is preceded in death by her parents, Mela Lucero and Arturo Lucero; husband, Martin Jaramillo; and granddaughter, Jazmyne Jaramillo. She is survived by her five children, Brenda Jaramillo and Fred Peralta, of Belen, NM, Lisa Rodriguez and her husband, Miguel, of Belen, Eric Jaramillo and his wife, Cynthia, of Colorado Springs, CO, Alvin Jaramillo and his wife, Marcie, of Albuquerque, NM, and Jeremy Jaramillo of Belen; nine grandchildren, Martin, Derick, Gilbert, and Sarah Jaramillo, David Maya, Ashley, Andrew, Alyssa, and Isaiah Jaramillo; expected great-grandchild, Dominique Jaramillo; one brother, Lawrence, and his wife, Mary, of Tome, NM; and Libby's companion, Ted Ortega, of Rio Rancho, NM. A Viewing was held on Wednesday, February 1 at Romero Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. Final visitation took place Thursday, February 2 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment was held at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. PADILLA -- Antonia B. Padilla (Grandma Toni) a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years passed away Friday, February 3, 2006. Antonia was preceded in death by her husband, David S. Padilla; six brothers; four sisters; her son-in-law, Lino M. Montano; and great-grandsons, Petie Padilla and Marc Kline. She is survived by daughters, Clorinda Montano of Albuquerque and Fela Kline and husband, Sosteno of Albuquerque; sons, Victor B. Padilla and wife, Elvera of Albuquerque and David R. Padilla and wife, Barbara of Albuquerque; brother, Victor Baca of Albuquerque; eleven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Antonia was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish. A viewing for Antonia will be held Monday, February 6, 2006 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Church with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday February 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Church with interment to follow at Mt. GUTIERREZ -- Priscilla B. Gutierrez was born June 1, 1929 to Frank and Floripa Brito in Estancia, NM. Priscilla passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2006. Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Floripa and her brother, Herman Brito. She is survived by her husband, Juan Gutierrez; her daughter, Mary Lou Sanchez and husband, Kelly; her son, Richard Lynn Gutierrez and wife, Connie; her daughter, Kathy Sarracino; grandchildren, Jose and Raquel Archuleta, Robert and Anita Metcalf, Daniel and Juanita Sanchez, Juan Gutierrez, Rocky and Paige Gutierrez, Sean McMurray, Nicole Sarracino, Anthony Sarracino Jr., and Sky Sarracino; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Dannyelle, and Travis Sanchez, Autumn and Jose Archuleta, Ariana Chavez and Danielle McCoy. Priscilla said a special thank you to her brothers and sisters, Joe Brito, Tillie and Gilbert Manning, Pino and Lydia Brito, Mary Dominguez, Luciano and Tommie Brito, Julian and Cookie Brito, Rose and Eugene Puga, Jimmy and Margaret Brito; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. HUNT -- Alene Mabel Hunt, born June 1, 1911 in Grundy Center, IA, died on Wednesday, January 25, 2006. She is survived by her son, Eugene L. Hunt and his wife, Elise, of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, Janet Bresenham of Clovis, Renee Jean Hunt of Sacramento, CA, Michael Roy Hunt, of Gilbert, AZ, Lisa Beard of Sacremento, CA; eight grandchildren; brother, James R. Handsel of Anaheim, CA. Alene was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara June; and grandson, Craig. She grew up in Fort Morgan, CO, and graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1929. She and her daughter and son moved to Albuquerque in 1947. Alene retired as a secretary from the New Mexico Cattle Sanitary Board where she enjoyed her work with the New Mexico ranchers, cattleman, and the livestock industry. She recently resided at the Grand Court Assisted Living where she was thankful for her care and assistance. CHAVEZ -- Andrew A. (Andy) Chavez was embraced and placed in the hands of the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Amalia Chavez and his brother, Wilfred Chavez. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Chavez; daughter, Yvette Unsworth and husband, Matt; son, Andrew Chavez and wife, Juanita; grandchildren, Kathleen, Avery, and Antonio Unsworth, Clarissa, Dennis, and Nicholas Chavez, and Alexis and Delilah Salazar; brother, Edward Chavez and wife, Emma; sisters, Ramona, Graciel and husband, Gilbert, Janet and husband, Fidel, and Marie; father and mother-in-law, Cory and Luvie Jaramillo; brother-in-law, Walter Jaramillo; sister-in-law, Shirley Maestas and husband, Wilfred; sister-in-law, Ida Chavez; many nephews, nieces, and many good friends. Andy worked for Samons for many years. He graduated from Valley High School. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. A Rosary for Andy will be recited on Thursday evening, January 26, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2006, also at St. Therese, where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. BANKS -- Naomi M. Banks, 86, a resident of Albuquerque for 57 years, died Tuesday, January 24, 2006. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Eldon L. Banks; children, Luann Banks of Albuquerque, and Anita Koster and husband, John of Las Vegas, NV; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Slocum. Naomi was born December 23, 1919 in Hurdland, MO and graduated from Hurdland High School in 1937. She attended Beauty College in Quincy, IL. Naomi married Eldon Banks on November 6, 1943 in La Grande, OR and they moved to Albuquerque from Kirksville, MO in 1948. She worked for Stromberg's for 15 years, as a tailor, until her retirement in 1964. Naomi was very active at Desert Springs Church until her illness. She was a loving wife, beloved mother and a friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE Thursday, January 26, 2006, 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Ryan Kelly officiating. SAAVEDRA -- Mrs. Anita Saavedra, 98, born and raised in Atrisco, Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away on January 19, 2006. Mrs. Saavedra is the beloved mother to, Lorenzo Casias and wife, Rachael, Oralia Griego, Willie Casias and wife, Angie, Gilbert Casias and wife, Lori, Pete Casias and wife, Sherry and Isabel Saavedra. She is also survived by her one brother, Rosendo Saavedra; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; ten great-great- grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Saavedra was preceded in death by her husband, Elfigo Saavedra; a daughter, Adelina Sisneros; and a son, Herman Saavedra. Mrs. Saavedra was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation will be Sunday afternoon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 4:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. TAFOYA -- Herman T. Tafoya, age 80 a lifelong resident of Belen, NM joined his Lord and Savior on January 18, 2006. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Herman was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight for four years. He proudly served his country in the South Pacific during WWII. After the war he returned to his position at the AT&SF Railroad where he retired in 1989. He will always be remembered for his outgoing personality and generous nature. Herman is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Flora Chavez Tafoya; five loving children, Walter Tafoya, Marie Tafoya, Janice Springer and her husband David all of Albuquerque, James Tafoya of Belen and Karen O'Hare and her husband Steve of Berthoud, CO; six grandchildren, David & Greg Tafoya, Lisa Springer, Hilary, Jason and Lucas O'Hare; two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Mark Springer; five siblings, Max Tafoya, Ross Tafoya and his wife, Emma, Gilbert Tafoya and his wife, Jane all of Belen, NM, Lorena Bernal of Los Angeles, CA and John Tafoya and his wife, Margaret of Huntington Beach, CA; sister-in-law, Evangeline "Vangie" Tafoya; brother-in-law, Raymond Bernal; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Mark Alvan Tafoya in 1970; parents, Hipolito and Florence Tafoya; and his brother Eloy Tafoya. Herman's family wishes to express their sincere and heart-felt gratitude to all of the nurses and health care workers at Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice for the tender and loving care they provided to Herman during his final days. Services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with a viewing beginning at 2:30 p.m., followed by a Rosary being recited at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday January 22, 2006. A final viewing will be held at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. on Monday January 23, 2006. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. CHAMBLISS -- The Reverend Paul Mark Chambliss of Lubbock, TX went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 18, 2006. He was born June 8, 1919, in Hamilton, TX to Gould Chambliss and Ester Stroud Chambliss. Chambliss, a retired pastor, has pastored churches in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Oregon, Colorado, and Nevada. He married Barbara Nichols Oakeley Feb 7, 1985. He is survived by his wife Barbara; two sons, Paul Merlyn Chambliss of Tucson, AZ and Louis Chambliss and wife, Lynn of Battle Mountain, NV; three grandchildren, Celia Crist and husband, Larry of Azel, TX, Katrina Schaffner and husband, Mike of Winnemucka, NV, Steve Chambliss and wife, Jill of Battle Mountain, NV; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; five stepchildren, Deborah DeLuna and husband, Robert, Dwayne Oakeley and wife, Sheri, Brenda Trevino and husband, Eddie, Gilbert Oakeley, Brian Oakeley and wife, Dorothy; 11 step- grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
