SOURS -- CHARLES PAUL JR. Age 83, born in Rifle, CO, and a resident of Albuquerque since February 2011, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Charles is survived by his children, Rea and husband, Charles Ahlgrim of Albuquerque, NM; David Sours and wife, Jamie of Casper, WY and Karl Sours of Farmington, NM; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Mr. Sours was preceded in death by his loving wife, Prudy and six brothers and sisters. Mr. Sours served many dedicated years on the Navajo Reservation where he worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He acquired many life-long friends from the Navajo Nation. Services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011, 2:00 p.m., at French University location. Honorary pallbearers will be Wes Ahlgrim, Doug Ahlgrim, Cindy Ahlgrim, David Sours, Jr., Justin Sours, Chris Sours, and Chuck Sours. TAFOYA -- EILEEN M. "HONEY" Age 52, a resident of Alameda, NM, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 17, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ben Paul Tafoya; two special daughters, Michelle and Monica Tafoya; her precious grandchildren, ChristiAna and Caiden Tafoya; god-children Christopher Gutierrez, Jessica Cordova and Adrianna Tafoya. She is also survived by her parents, Tomas "Popo" and Elsie Gonzales; four sisters, Ramona Chavez, Angie Duran, Rita Cordova and Rachel Gutierrez and husband Steve; one brother, Tommy Gonzales Jr, mother-in-law, Julia Tafoya; sister-in-law, Esther and husband, Andy Barela; brother-in-law, Lawrence and wife, Diane Tafoya; also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and many other family members. Eileen was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Bennie G. Tafoya; uncle, Matias Gonzales; nephew, Joseph Duran; cousin, Yolanda "Yoli" Salaiz; and great-niece, Carleas Duran. Mrs. Tafoya is an employee of the City of Albuquerque. She was a cancer survivor for 15 years, and also battled Lupus for 9 years. Eileen was a strong and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. She put others before herself so much of the time. Eileen was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Catholic Parish and charter member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a participant of the Relay for Life. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, September 22, 2011, 7:00 pm, and a Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 23, 2011, 9:00 am, at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 4502 Alameda NW, with interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. POXON -- SAMUEL THOMAS Died peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2011 from Alzheimer's disease. Sam was born in Painesville, Ohio to Madge and Fayette Poxon on December 14, 1928. He was raised in Ohio and graduated from Ohio University with a degree in chemistry in 1951. Also upon graduation he received his ROTC document. Following graduation Sam served 6 years in the United States Air Force and spent one year of active duty during the Korean conflict. Upon returning to the United States, Sam continued his service in the Air Force until 1957. At this time Sam and his family moved to Dallas, Texas where he worked at several pharmaceutical companies. In 1969 Sam acquired and ran his own pharmaceutical and distribution company, Calvin Scott & Co., Inc., in Albuquerque. Sam loved living in Albuquerque and was actively involved with the following organizations: Optimists Club, Toastmasters, Museum of Natural History, Board of Directors of Lovelace Hospital, The Cancer Research Center at UNM, American Legion and Kiwanis Club, where he served as president 2004 to 2005. Sam was a very generous and giving person to these organizations. When Sam wasn't working at his office, he was on the golf course with his friends and family or on the dance floor trying out his new steps. Sam loved to travel and did so extensively. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Poxon Padilla and her husband, Albert of Santa Fe and Diane Poxon Palm and her husband, Jan-Erik of Newport Beach, California; four grandchildren, Erika Palm Carson, Robert Palm, Samuel Padilla, and Annie Padilla; and one great-granddaughter, Chloe Carson; two sisters, Della Poxon Laing of Madison, Ohio and Dorothy Poxon Gelfand and her husband, Bernie of Toronto, Canada; and the mother of Sam's daughters, Suzanne Poxon Warner of Sun Valley, Idaho; several nieces and nephews, Becky, Douglas, Susie, Keith, Jack, Benjamin and Claire. Friends may visit on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at French ~ Lomas Chapel. Services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011, 11:00 a.m. also at French ~ Lomas Chapel. BLOSSOM -- JULIE Age, 79, passed away on September 15, 2011. She was born and raised in Albuquerque. She attended Harwood School for Girls, Browning Business School, and worked at Sandia National Laboratories, University of California (Livermore) and was a supervisor with Social Security Data Operations Center in Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband, Kip; children, and grandchildren; Catherine Blossom (Caitlin, Carlianne), Carol Blossom Stach, David Blossom and wife Andrea (Meghan, Jordan); She is also survived by two brothers, Liberato Leal and Sam Leal and wife. At her request, there will be no memorial service. A private interment will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. BOLDEN -- FRANCES Departed this life on Monday, September 12, 2011 at St. John Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She leaves to mourn two sons, Neil Bolden and Carrington Bolden; a devoted God-daughter, Reverend Louise A. Battle; a spiritual daughter, Gloria Newson; and a sister, Dinah White. Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, James, who passed away April of this year; two daughters, Valerie Harris and Lalisa Johnson; her sister, Susie Taylor; brothers, Samuel, Frank, James and Charley Adams; and one son-in-law, Gary Harris. CLINE -- VICTOR KENNETH Was born on December 22, 1920 in Paragould, Arkansas to Galvin Astor Cline and Ella Little Cline, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Pilot and retired in 1968 with the rank of Lt. Colonel. After retirement he spent two years in Billings, MT. working on a cattle ranch. He began teaching Aerospace education in Moscow, ID, Valley High School, and Torrejon, Spain. At Valley High School he taught Jr. ROTC. He enjoyed working with cattle, horses, gardening and flying. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, of 34 years, Joanne Mae Choate; two sons, Victor Jr. and Gregory; and one grandson, Shawn. He is survived by his sister Mathel Jerry Akers; his current wife of 33 years, DeeAnn Dumas Cline; one son, Douglas Victor Cline and wife, Ann Marie; step-children, Kevin Cline, Tracy Love Sanchez and husband, Dan, and six grandchildren, Victoria, Kelsey, Benjamin and wife, Brandi, Dillon, Dalton and Denton. JARAMILLO -- BERNIE O. Age 77, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011. He was born on September 5, 1934 in Cebolla, NM. After retiring from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 1564 as a Business Representative Bernie was an entrepreneur in many endeavors which he had great sucess due to his talent to understand people and gain their trust. He loved taking his family and especially his grandchildren fishing. He adored and loved his wife. He was preceded in death by his son, Bernard Jaramillo . He is survived by his wife, Concepcion "Concha" Jaramillo; son, Steve Jaramillo of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Joann Rivera, Bernadette Jaramillo, Lorraine Saavedra; and daughter-in-law Alysia Jaramillo, all of Albuquerque, NM, Alicia Armijo of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Joshua, Rachel, David, Bianca, Nicole, Dominick, Lauryn; sisters, Lillie Tenorio, Maria Chavez. O'DANIELS -- GENEVA C. Died August 30, 2011. She was born February 5, 1930 in Marathon, Texas to William and Erna Cooper. A resident of Albuquerque since 1984 she is survived by her daughter Barbara W Thomas; her sons, Richard L Woods, Stephen J Woods, and William C Woods.
