Hartshorne -- Stephen C. Hartshorne, son of Marie Lorraine and John Schulte of Las Cruces, died on February 15, 2000, in Albuquerque. He was born in Los Alamos, NM on September 25, 1951. Survivors include one son, David-Pierre, of Albuquerque; four brothers, Michael and wife Lida, of Albuquerque, Joseph and wife Sonia and sons Eustace and Sergio of Rociada, NM, Mark and his wife, Trina and daughter, Taylor Nicole of Las Cruces and Jeffrey of Las Cruces. Stephen was a graduate of Highlands University and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was creative, brilliant, loving, caring and loved by many. Mcintyre -- Duncan W. McIntyre, 74, a resident of Albuquerque passed away February 26, 2000. He was a graduate of Albuquerque High School, served in the Marines during World War II and returned to New Mexico after retiring as a printer in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He is survived by close friend, Maria Moore; sisters, Theresa Zamora and Madeline Manning; brothers, B.A. McIntyre and wife, Alice, William H. McIntyre and wife, Mary Lee, David E. McIntyre and wife, Jean and Craig McIntyre and wife, Thomasine; sisters-in-law, Christine McIntyre and Ruth McIntyre; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2000, 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Interment of cremated remains will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery. Montano -- Jose Antonio Montano, age 47, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2000. He was born in Puerto Rico, to Jose Ramon Montano and Magdalena Montano. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dorothy Montano; his daughter, Melissa Chavez and her fiance, Speedy Apodaca. His son, Jose Arrellano and his wife, Nancy Arrellano and three grandchildren, Santiago Chavez, Madyson Arellano and Grace Arellano. His brother, Joey Montano; sister, Iris Montano. His in-laws, Ernest and Braulia Velasques, Toni Ayon, Juan and Yvonne Velasquez, Ernie and Mary Chavez. Niece's and nephews, Ramy and husband, Jeff and Sabrina Forrest, Denise and Aprilyn Chavez, Carlos Velasquez, David and Danny Montano. His many friends and colleagues and all his family members in Puerto Rico. He will be overwhelmingly missed by all of us. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this morning at St. Thomas Aquinas at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Vista Verde Memorial Park. Quintana -- Mrs. Ofelia R. Qunitana died Monday in Albuquerque at the age of 82. She was born in Tokay, NM on June 15, 1917 to Pablo and Dorotea Romero. Mrs. Quintana is preceded in death by her husband, Luis Quintana; her parents; and brothers, Alcario and Florindo Romero. She is survived by her sisters, Maria Riemer of Albuquerque, Leonella Rea of La Paz, Bolivia; brothers, Rosendo and wife, Sophie of Albuquerque, Robert of Washington, DC, Jose Ernesto and wife, Bertha of Albuquerque; and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral Services for Mrs. Quintana will be held on Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Lujan Sr., Frank Lujan Jr., Victor Romero, David Romero, Tom Romero and Peter Romero. Evening Services for Mrs. Qunitana will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Rael -- Jose M."Joe" Rael, has left this world to be with his Lord and Savior, having passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2000, following a short illness. Joe was born in Golden, NM on December 31, 1922 to Ricardo Carley and Tomasita Mary Martinez. His early childhood was spent in the Barelas neighborhood of Albuquerque, but Joe moved many places in his life. Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Marquez Rael in 1977; mother, Mary Salazar; brother, Solomon; and sister, Ethel. Joe was a Veteran of World War II, enlisting in the United States Army in San Francisco, CA on February 19, 1943, following a stint in the California State Guard. Joe was PFC, serving in the U.S. 187th Glider Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. Joe saw action in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre during WWII, in Luzon, Southern Philippines and New Guinea, and received several citations and decorations including the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with Bronze Arrowhead for the invasion of Nasughu Point, Luzon, and Leyte Campaigns; World War II Victory Medal; Army of Occupation Medal with Japan Clasp; Distinguished Unit Emblem; Combat Infantryman Badge; Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Service Stars; Glider Badge; Parachutist Badge; Marksman Badge with Carbine, Rifle and Mortar Bars; and, the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation Badge. He was a member of the VFW. Joe is survived by his present wife, Bessie Garcia-Rael; the Garcia family, David, Ruben, Lenni, Dikki, Francella and Debbie Muniz; his sister, Trinidad and husband, Bill Leavitt of Modesto, CA; his aunt, Rose Gutierrez; daughters, Barbara Nieto and husband, Michael, of Albuquerque, NM, Lynn Robertson and husband, Ken of Louisiana, Connie Cothran of Phoenix, AZ, Judy Marquez of Los Gatos, CA, Patricia Foster, of Pecos, NM; sons; Tony Rael and wife, Pamela, Ronnie Rael, Larry Rael and wife, Wanda all of Albuquerque; several grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Visitations will be today from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, located on 8th and Stover, where a Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. by David and Maria Roybal of San Ildefonso Pueblo, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Casket bearers will be Mike Nieto, Andy Nieto Jr., David Garcia, Jerome Muniz, Albert Muniz, Carl Atler, Rudy Ortega and Ronnie Rael. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lobo Chapter of New Mexico, 82nd Airborne Division Association. Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army Honor Guard of Ft. Bliss, TX. Sanchez -- Mr. Clarence M. Sanchez, 79, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on February 27, 2000. Mr. Sanchez is the beloved husband of 53 years to Mrs. Stella Sanchez. He is also survived by two daughters, Jennie Padilla and husband, Ted, Emily Lujan and husband, Art; three sons, Franklin Sanchez and wife, Dee, Michael Sanchez and wife, Jill and Clarence Sanchez Jr. and wife, Connie; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Clorinda Castilla and husband, Joe; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez was a member of the Catholic Church, Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, New Mexico Army National Guard, retired from K.A.F.B. in 1979 after 30 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grand and great grandfather. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac Rd SW with visitation after 6:30 p.m. The Legion of Mary will recite the Rosary. Sekot -- Anita Maria Valdez-Sekot, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died Sunday, February 27, 2000. She is survived by her sons, Joseph P. Sekot and wife, Mercy of Blackfoot, ID and John Alfred Sekot and wife, Ricki of Fresno, CA; daughters, Marie P. Martinez and husband, Robert of Rio Rancho, Angela R. Ballengee and husband, Phillip, Jeannie Mackey and husband, Maurice and Loretta Duran and husband, Levi, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Steven Sekot, Yvonne Lindsay, Joseph Sekot, Fred Sekot, Cheryl Parks, Shelly Allabach, Roberta McGrew, Martin Martinez, Mike Martinez, Kathy Gunderson, Christine Woisin, David Ballengee, Nicholas Ballengee, Victoria Ballengee, Anton Mackey, Danielle Duran and Levi Duran; seventeen great-grandchildren; brother, Peter Valdez, and wife, Rose of Albuquerque; and many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mrs. Sekot was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Sekot, whom she married in 1934. She was raised and married in Dawson, NM. Mrs. Sekot was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, where she attended daily Mass and taught Catechism. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and Altar Rosary Society, she was a church volunteer. She was devoted to her Rosary. Mrs. Sekot worked with the girl and boy scouts, as well as made home visits to the elderly. She was also a member of the Machinist Auxiliary. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont NE, with Father Johnny Lee Chavez, Celebrant and Father Antonio Mondragon, Con-Celebrant. Aragon -- Premetivo"Tivo" Aragon, born March 24, 1922, went to prepare a place for us in heaven with the Lord on February 24, 2000. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Dora Aragon; two sons, Robert Aragon and wife, Del Marie of Bernalillo, Tim Aragon and wife, Colleen of Los Lunas; four daughters, Joelene and husband, Luis Garcia, Darlene and husband, Fred Mora, Grace and husband, Frank Padilla and Crystal Gonzales-Aragon, all of Bernalillo. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter; three brothers, Avarsito and Felicito Aragon of Bernalillo and Patricio Aragon of Alamogordo; one sister, Tomasita Garcia of Bernalillo; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Premetivo served in the Army during WWII, he retired from Bernalillo Public Schools and also worked for Alameda Mortuary. Premitivo was a lifetime member of VFW Post 4243 and served as Post Commander. He was also active in the Knights of Columbus/ Premetivo loved to dance. He loved his family and he loved life. He will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on at 11:00 a.m., at the church. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho. Pallbearers will be Mario Dominguez, Delfred Aragon, Larry Lucero, Ernie Aragon, Max Aragon, and Billy Garcia. Franchini -- Rose D. Franchini, loving wife, mother and grandmother, 78, a resident of Albuquerque for 53 years, died Friday, February 25, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Rusty Franchini; daughter, Lynne Peckinpaugh and husband, Dennis; granddaughter, Michele Peckinpaugh and Anthony Velarde, all of Albuquerque; grandson, David Peckinpaugh and wife, Maureen Tansey of St. Johnsbury, VT; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Devoti and husband, Frank and Mickey Franchini, all of Albuquerque; cousins, Mary Galligan, Ange Cunningham, Dominic Simonetti and Steve Stranges, all of Colorado; and several nieces, nephews and special friends. Mrs. Franchini touched many lives as a teacher at Our Lady of Fatima School for 30 years. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where she was active with the Women's Guild. Mrs. Franchini was past president of Albuquerque Business Women's Association; member of Casa Angelica Auxiliary; and Italian Women's Club. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, with Father Francis X Eggert, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
