NEWELL -- DONALD W. Age 86, born December 19, 1924 in Great Bend, Kansas and died September 19, 2011 in Albuquerque and lived most of his life in Denver, Colorado and Albuquerque. Mr. Newell was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Inez. He is survived by his sister, Lenora Ruthven; three nieces; four nephews and their families; and many friends. Don had a career in sales of office supplies with Frankel Carbon and Ribbon in Denver for 50 years. Most recently, he was active in the Solo Club, the Elks, Meadowlark Senior Center and Hope in the Desert Episcopal Church. Friends may visit French - Westside location- Friday, September 23, 2011, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Hope in the Desert Episcopal Church, 8700 Alameda NE. REHFELD -- TOM Passed away on September 8, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 24 years Amy; sons Jake and Will all of Albuquerque; his brother James of Cottonwood, Arizona. Born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1955, Tom's career in Advertising and Marketing Research took him to El Paso, Santa Fe and finally Albuquerque where he was a resident for over 30 years. He most recently served as Senior Research Director for Ameritest CY Research. Tom earned his bachelors degree from Grinnell College and his master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. He left us much too soon but touched many, both personally and professionally, with his keen insight and intelligence, wry sense of humor and generous spirit. A memorial service celebrating Tom's life will be held at Saint Thomas of Canterbury Episcopal church, 425 University NE, on October 1, 2011 at 3:00 pm, in Albuquerque. RENAUD -- ROBERT FRANK Dec. 16, 1958 - Sept. 16, 2011 Much loved son, brother, father, uncle and friend. Bob was born on December 16, 1958 in Bayshore, NY, and died from a heart attack at his home in Albuquerque, NM, on Friday, September 16, 2011. Survived by mother Patricia Michalowski Renaud; father Albert Frank Renaud; sisters Pamela Renaud Lierle and Gayle Irene Hoover; son Jayden Adam Martin Renaud; niece Kristin Marie Hoover; nephews William Renaud Hoover and Patrick Renaud Lierle; best friend Vanessa Gonzales; many other friends and family members who will miss him dearly for his kind heart and generous spirit. Now at peace in heaven where his grandparents, cousin, aunt and friends are enjoying his company and forever in our hearts, we love you Bob. SAAVEDRA -- GERALD D. (GERALDO) A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, was born August 8, 2011. He passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011. A 1978 graduate of Valley High School, Geraldo attended DeWolf School of Cosmetology, where he became a hair stylist, owning and operating "Geraldo and Friends Salon". He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. Geraldo loved to attend Church, singing in many Church Choirs. As well, he loved to cook and spend time with his cherished family. Geraldo was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jose and Corina Sanchez and Estanislado Saavedra and by his niece, Samantha Lynn Saavedra. He is survived by his parents, Eliseo and Jenny Saavedra; brother, Stan Saavedra and his wife Donna; two sisters, Barbara Saavedra all of Albuquerque, and Sandra Guzman and her husband Odalis of Queens, NY; five nieces, Charmayne, Sarah Louise, Amanda, Emilia and Olivia Elise; one nephew, Estanislado; great niece, Madison; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and friends who loved, will miss him and adored him greatly. Services will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 4th and Mildred NW. A Viewing will begin at 5:30 pm on Friday, September 23, 2011, followed by the Rosary being recited at 6:00pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, located at Avenida Ceasar Chavez and Yale SE. SAENZ -- NEMESIO S. Age 70, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, was called home by our heavenly father Thursday, September 15, 2011. He was preceded in death by his brother, Manuel; son, Ignacio; and grandson, Victor Saenz. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Helen; his children, Rosario, Ramona, Nancy and Jose; grandchildren, Frankie, Enrique, Victor, Anahi, Maria, Lizette, Jeryus and one on the way. He also leaves behind three brothers, Enrique, Jesus, and Raul; two sisters, Guadalupe and Ofelia; other family members and a host of friends. Nemesio will be greatly missed by all. SEDILLO -- ANDREW THOMAS Age 49, loving son, brother, father, uncle and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior September 15, 2011. He was born on July 28, 1962 to Porcopio and Sadie, in Albuquerque, NM. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Andrew proudly served in the Navy for four years and retired from the US Postal Service after dedicating 29 years. Andrew loved to collect things, he enjoyed watching TV. and listening to music. Andrew is survived by his mother, Sadie Mitchell; daughters, Alexandra Sedillo and Morgan Powers; his beloved fiance, Lisa Devito; son, Nicholas Devito; mother-in-law, Evelyn; brothers, Patrick, Jerry and Leonard Sedillo; sisters, Pearl Gallegos and husband Tony, Diane Jaquez and husband Juan and Loretta Tapia; aunt Jenny Nevarez, uncle Joe Sanchez and their three children; aunt Mary and uncle Elijio Vigil and their two children and numerous other family and friends. SOURS -- CHARLES PAUL JR. Age 83, born in Rifle, CO, and a resident of Albuquerque since February 2011, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Charles is survived by his children, Rea and husband, Charles Ahlgrim of Albuquerque, NM; David Sours and wife, Jamie of Casper, WY and Karl Sours of Farmington, NM; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Mr. Sours was preceded in death by his loving wife, Prudy and six brothers and sisters. Mr. Sours served many dedicated years on the Navajo Reservation where he worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He acquired many life-long friends from the Navajo Nation. Services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011, 2:00 p.m., at French University location. TAFOYA -- EILEEN M. "HONEY" Age 52, a resident of Alameda, NM, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 17, 2011. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ben Paul Tafoya; two special daughters, Michelle and Monica Tafoya; her precious grandchildren, ChristiAna and Caiden Tafoya; god-children Christopher Gutierrez, Jessica Cordova and Adrianna Tafoya. She is also survived by her parents, Tomas "Popo" and Elsie Gonzales; four sisters, Ramona Chavez, Angie Duran, Rita Cordova and Rachel Gutierrez and husband Steve; one brother, Tommy Gonzales Jr, mother-in-law, Julia Tafoya; sister-in-law, Esther and husband, Andy Barela; brother-in-law, Lawrence and wife, Diane Tafoya; also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and many other family members. Eileen was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Bennie G. Tafoya; uncle, Matias Gonzales; nephew, Joseph Duran; cousin, Yolanda "Yoli" Salaiz; and great-niece, Carleas Duran. Mrs. Tafoya is an employee of the City of Albuquerque. She was a cancer survivor for 15 years, and also battled Lupus for 9 years. Eileen was a strong and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. She put others before herself so much of the time. Eileen was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Catholic Parish and charter member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a participant of the Relay for Life. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, September 22, 2011, 7:00 pm, and a Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 23, 2011, 9:00 am, at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 4502 Alameda NW, with interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
