Gerding -- Mildred"Millie" L. Gerding, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1935, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Millie White McMahon and husband, John T. McMahon; grandchildren, Jack and Mollie McMahon. Her second family includes, Bob and Harriet Gerding: grandchildren, Mike, Patrick, Laura and Flint Morris; great-grandchildren, J. T. and Melanie Morris; Dick and Eileen Gerding, Dr. David Gerding, and Christine Gerding; Clarilou (deceased) and Jim Bryce; grandchildren, Deena, Dan, Doug, and Don Bryce. She is also survived by her brother, Wilford Cheedle of Grand Junction, CO; niece, Marie Reed of Grand Junction, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Fred A. White, whom she married on December 3, 1940; and her second husband of eight years, Lou Gerding, whom she married on August 15, 1971. Mrs. Gerding moved to Albuquerque from Colorado as a nurse to work for Presbyterian Hospital. She had been active in many community organizations; she was president of Junior League of Albuquerque in 1944, active in setting up Cerebral Palsy Day School, and the June Music Festival. She was a board member and active in Community Concerts and the Albuquerque Little Theatre, where she also participated in some productions. She was a leader in Brownie and Girl Scout Troops, where she also served as a board member. Mrs. Gerding taught Red Cross Nurses Aid and Home Nursing Courses. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 16th, 10:00 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, 4th and Lead SW, with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. Griego -- 1916-2000 Trinnie E. Griego, 83, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Abo, New Mexico to Luis T. and Josefita Esquibel. Mrs. Griego was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bonafacio B. Griego; and a daughter-in-law, Annalee Griego. She is survived by her daughters, Eloisa G. Tabet and husband, Boni of Belen, Filomena G. Gonzales and husband, Johnie of Albuquerque, and Josie Brill and husband, Jerry of Las Cruces; her sons, Enfred Griego of Albuquerque, Juan J. Griego and wife, Nancy of Belen, and Lawrence Griego and wife, Margaret of Belen; her sisters, Lizzie Trujillo, Lena Ulibarri, Christina Luna and husband, Florian; her brothers, Abran Esquibel and wife, Rose and Manuel Esquibel; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Griego will begin at 12:00 noon, Friday, May 12, at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel. The family will begin receiving friends at 5:30 p.m. and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Manuel Gallegos. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 13, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with Father David Gallegos officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Yvette Garrett, Yvonne Tabet-Kirkpatrick, Tina Griego-Fletcher, Lynn Dugan, Sandra Johnson, Jaclyn Brill, LisaMarie Gonzales-Eaton, and Melanie Gonzales. Trujillo -- Fermin Trujillo Jr., 59, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2000. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Fermin was born in Bosque, NM. Then he moved to Albuquerque at the age of 9, following the death of his mother in 1949. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1966, which included duties in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Fermin was preceded in death by his parents, Fermin Sr. and Isabelita Trujillo; his half-sister, Theresa Maldonado. He is survived by his loving brothers and sisters, Bernice Tellez and her husband, Robert, Marcella Melendez and her husband, Eddie, Gloria Melendez and her husband, Oscar, David Florinio and Premetivo Trujillo; her half-brother, Edwin Trujillo and half-sister, Emily Gomez. He is also survived by Michella Tetta who, although not related, was like a mother to him for a large part of his life. Fermin is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 12:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen.

Archuleta -- Mr. Felipe Adriano Archuleta, 74, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 9, 2000. Mr. Archuleta was the beloved husband of seven years to Mrs. Florentina Martinez. He is also survived by two sons, Phillip A. Archuleta Jr. and wife, Sandra and Floyd A. Archuleta and wife, Debra; three sisters, Ramonita Roybal, Odilia Baker and Julia Casados; four brothers, Pablin Archuleta and wife, Margaret, Jose Archuleta and wife, Frances, David Archuleta and wife, Lydia and Mike Archuleta and wife, Teddie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rosenaldo Martinez, Mamalia Valdez and Beatrice Montano; six grandchildren, Laura, Phillip III, Joshua, Victoria, Jessica and Hannah; one great-grandchild, Brianna. Mr. Archuleta was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. A Funeral service will be held on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m., at Victory Love Fellowship Church, 7201 Central NW. Pastor Rob Carman officiating. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., with Military Honors. His son, Reverend Floyd A. Archuleta will do the graveside readings. Baros -- Joe (Eloy) Baros, 60, passed away on May 9, 2000, at home with his loved ones by his side. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy M. Baros; and his parents, Juan and Lucinda Baros. Joe was a great man of character and friend to all, always willing to lend a helping hand without hesitation and with genuine concern. He was loved by many. Joe loved the outdoors and spent much of his time doing the things he loved to do and during his illness, continued doing the things he loved to do and with high spirits. He always managed to bring sunshine to a cloudy day. Joe is survived by three sons, Michael Baros and wife, Rubina, David Baros and Reuben Baros; three daughters, Cynthia Baros, Naomi Baros-Martinez and husband, Alfred, Sarah Baros and boyfriend, Melvin Cooper; eight grandchildren, Sean, Alexis, Zachary, and Christian Baros, Daija Cooper and Stephanie, Desiree and Elijah Martinez; brothers-in-law, L. Sammy Esquibel and wife, JoAnn, A. Louie Esquibel and wife, Carla, Ronald Esquibel, Mark Esquibel and Matthew Esquibel; sisters-in-law, Lucy Roybal and husband, Manuel, Nancy Esquibel and husband, Roy, Peggy Martinez and husband, Raymond, and Elizabeth Silva. Funeral services for Mr. Baros will be held on Saturday at the Azusa Christian Church, 201 Valencia Dr. NE, where the service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Strain -- Dr. Dudley Strain, 90, a ten year resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000. He is survived by his daughter, Ann Meriney of Albuquerque; son, Keith Strain and wife, Betsy of Ada, OK; grandchildren, Trey Hoffman of Dallas, TX, Tiffany Turetzky and husband, David of New York, NY, and John D. Strain of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Strain on November 19, 1998. Dr. Strain was a graduate of Yale Divinity School, Butler University, and Texas Christian University. He pastored for 50+ years in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Independance, IN, Salem, OR, and two churches in Lubbock. He was also the author of three books. Dr. Strain was the driving force in the founding of Contact Lubbock, and the International Cultural Center at Texas Tech. He retired in 1990 at the age of 80 and chose to move to Albuquerque to be close to his daughter. Dr. Strain was a member of Monte Vista Christian Church of Albuquerque. Memorial services will be held Friday, May 12, 2000, 11:00 a.m., at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE, with Rev. Fred Dorisse and Rev. Keith D. Strain officiating. Tracy -- Stuart Bloom Tracy, 90, of Las Cruces, passed away on May 9, 2000. Mr. Tracy moved to Las Cruces in the early 1940's. He taught at area schools and retired from PSL at NMSU in the 1970's. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Murphy Tracy of 50 years in 1982. He later married Elizabeth Quinton of Phoenix, AZ. He is survived by his sons, David A. Tracy of Kirkland, WA, William C. Quinton, Robert W. Quinton and James. R. Quinton, all of Phoenix, AZ, and Charles E. Quinton of Laramie, WY. Mr. Tracy graduated from Central University in Edmond, OK, where he endowed a scholarship fund for teachers. Mr. Tracy was a Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Las Cruces, a milestone of his year was the establishment of the Key Club at Las Cruces High School. He was also a founder of the United Way of Dona Ana County in 1957. Mr. Tracy was a charter member of Jornada Masonic Lodge #70, AF&AM. He served the Grand Lodge of New Mexico in various offices before serving as Grand Master in 1974. Mr. Tracy was 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason and was instrumental in establishing the Scottish Rite Temple in Las Cruces. He was a member of Paradise Valley-Silver Trowel 329 Masonic Lodge AF&AM in Phoenix, AZ. He was a Past Patron of Ruth #8, Order of the Eastern Star in Deming, NM, and Past Patron of Hatch 352, OES in Hatch, NM. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Getz Funeral Home. The Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 12, 2000, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with Dr. Larry Hall officiating. Graveside services will be at the Masonic Cemetery with the Mason's officiating. Pallbearers will be members of the Jornada Masonic Lodge #70, AF&AM. Sandoval -- Mrs. Esther Sandoval died Saturday in Albuquerque at the age of 72. Mrs. Sandoval was preceded in death by her sister, Margarita Jaramillo. She is survived by her son, David Sandoval and wife, Maria; daughters, Mary Armijo and Jennie Charrette; brother, Joe J. Jaramillo; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Martinez -- Luther Frank Martinez Sr., 84, loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a resident of Albuquerque since 1933, died Saturday, May 6, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Cordelia Lily S. Martinez of the family home; sons, Luther F. Martinez Jr. and wife, Alice of Albuquerque, Lavern E. Martinez and wife, Francie of Denver, CO, LeRoy D. Martinez and wife, Ines of Mission Viejo, CA and Lemuel L. Martinez of Bernalillo; daughter, Linda G. Alvarado and husband, Robert of Denver, CO; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; brother, David S. Martinez and wife, Virginia of Independence, MO; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends. Mr. Martinez was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence L. Martinez. Mr. Martinez was employed by Sandia National Laboratories for 25 years and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, auto mechanics, remodeling, and was a fan of the Colorado Rockies and the New Mexico Lobos. He was a WWII Army Veteran of the South Pacific, earning a Purple Heart. He was a Member/Deacon of Hoffmantown Baptist Church, East Mesa Civitans, and VFW Post #401. Services will be held Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at Hoffmantown Baptist Church, 8888 Harper Blvd. NE, with Pastor Ken Moore and Pastor Boyd Morerod officiating.
