Henze -- Grace Elizabeth, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2000. She was born to Albert and Regina Salzman on June 21, 1928 in San Antonio, TX. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lee Henze and four children; Mark Henze and wife, Alicia of Ft. Worth, TX; Matthew Henze and wife, Patricia of Kernersville, NC, Sharon Burnett and husband, William of Plano, TX, and Diane McDonald of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Henze Cooper, Christopher and David Henze, Erin and Lyndsey Burnett, Kristyn and Emily McDonald; great grandchildren, Jonathan, Christina, and Nicholas Cooper; sisters, Marjorie Large of Houston, TX, Patricia Parma and husband, Edwin, Irene Reinhard and husband, Erwin, and Imogene Foreman and husband, Michael, all of San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Regina Salzman and brother, Melvin Salzman. Mrs. Henze was a school nurse for the Albuquerque Public Schools until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church where she was active with St. Vincent de Paul Society. Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 15, 2000, 8:30 a.m., Our Lady of Annunciation, 2621 Vermont NE. Cremation will follow with interment of cremains to take place in San Antonio, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society at Our Lady of Annunciation Church, 2621 Vermont NE, 87110. French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.

Mccausland -- Beverlee Rae Calkins McCausland, born May 7, 1930 died of cancer at her home August 23, 2000. Bebs was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Jo McCausland. She is survived by her husband, John (Jack) McCausland of Albuquerque; a daughter, Lois Ann Rominger and her husband, David, of Deming, NM; two grandsons, PFC Burton L. Rominger, USMC, stationed at San Diego, CA and Pvt. David Jon Rominger stationed at Ft. Jackson, SC; two uncles, Dr. Harry M. Dixon and his wife, Marj of Laguna Woods, CA and Ralph Dixon and his wife, Edna of Albuquerque; and cousin, Dr. Thomas R. Podleski of Ithaca, NY. Bebs was born and lived many years in Bloomington, IL, where she still has relatives and many friends. She graduated from UNM in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. She taught at Highland High School and left teaching to be a full-time mother and devoted wife. Throughout her life she was active in various groups, such as the American Association of University Women, various garden clubs, genealogy, and the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed especially meeting with various artists and appreciating their work. Her family wishes to express appreciation to Presbyterian Hospice nursing staff for their efforts on Beverlee's behalf. Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Humane Assoc. of New Mexico, Noon Day Ministry, or a charity of your choice. Cremation will be followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2000 at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE. Otero -- Mr. David Otero, Sr., 66, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on September 13, 2000. Mr. Otero is survived by two daughters, Kathy Quintana and husband, Ricardo and Gloria Baca and husband, Richard; one son, David Otero Jr., and wife, Esther; four sisters, Linda Sanchez, Aurora Chavez and husband, Jose, Luggie Chavez and Betsy Otero; two brothers, Albino Otero and wife, Mary and Ruben Ortega and wife, Barbara; seven grandchildren, Monica, Richardo Jr., Yvette, Melissa, Krista, Michael and Christopher; four great-grandchildren, Mariah, Myranda, Adrianna and Isabella; his special friend and mother of his children, Irene Padilla. Mr. Otero was a member of the Catholic Church. A Visitation will be Friday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr., SW from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Bob Lewis. Final Visitation will be Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. in the Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father Manuel Viera. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Quintana, Michael Baca, Abe Otero, Melcor Chavez, Andy Chavez and Joe Ray Chavez. Gabaldon Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Sutherland -- Leroy A. Sutherland, 72, a resident of Albuquerque for 17 years, died Monday, September 11, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Mary T. Sutherland of Albuquerque; daughter, Rita Bierig of Evans, CO; son, Joseph Sutherland and wife, Storm of Arvada, CO; daughter, Jean LaForett and husband, Randy of Denver, CO; son, Donald Sutherland and wife, Lynn of Nashville, NC; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Hoback of Albuquerque, Shirley Ann Whitehead and husband, Lee of Plymouth, NH; brothers, David Sutherland and wife, Mary A.; Stephen Bruce ¯Pete¯ Sutherland and wife, Mary H. of Denver, CO; and sister, Judith Ann Crites and husband, Roger of Albuquerque and numerous friends. Mr. Sutherland was a veteran of the Korean War and received a 3 Star Purple Heart and numerous other Decorations of War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #49. Mr. Sutherland was a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church. He helped initiate the Share Co-op as a staff member in that Parish. February 3, 2001 would have been Leroy and Mary¯s 50th (Golden) Wedding Anniversary. Rosary will be recited Friday, September 15, 2000, 7:00 p.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd NE, with Deacon Al McLane reciting. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 16, 2000, 9:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with Father Tom Zotter, Celebrant. Interment of cremains will take place at Ft. Garcia -- Gabriel G. Garcia, age 80, passed away Tuesday morning, September 12. He was born November 2, 1919 in Guy, New Mexico. He had been a resident of Corrales for the past eight years. Mr. Garcia retired from AT&SF Railroad on June 1, 1985; he was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in WWII. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Polly Garcia; and eight children, Gabe and Theresa Garcia of Gallup, David P. and Kathy Garcia of Albuquerque, Cathy and Kraig Ogdon of Las Lunas, Anna and Frank Martinez of Gallup, Robert and Barbara Garcia of Gallup, Patt Garcia and Robert Blasko of Hillsboro, OR, Diana and Paul Chavez of Gallup, and Stephen Garcia of Corrales. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, Gabe Jr., Joey, Ricky, Paul, Sarah, Annice, Mark, Gabrielle, John, Bernadette, Christina, Robert Jr., Rhiannon, and Dylan; and four great-grandchildren, Kavae, Aneles, Julie, and Christopher. A Rosary service given at Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., in Rio Rancho, will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 14. Funeral Mass given by Father Galli will be at San Ysidro Catholic Church, in Corrales, on Friday, September 15 at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial services at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Conner -- Eunice Wright Conner, a former resident of Marion, SC, died on September 10, 2000 in Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Lawrence Conner, on January 3, 2000. She was a homemaker and moved to Albuquerque in 1996 to be near her family. Mrs. Conner is survived by her daughther, Debra C. Samuel and husband, David of Albuquerque; grandson, Lawrence J. Samuel; granddaughter, Davina M. Samuel; and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held in Marion, SC on Saturday, September 16, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Devotion Gardens Cemetery.
