Tate -- Giles Tate, 84, passed away Friday, September 15, 2000. he was born in Dimmitt, TX, on January 20, 1916. He is survived by his beloved wife, Una, of 62 years; two sons, Byron Tate and wife, Mary of Tucson, AZ, and Boyce Tate and his wife, Helen of Houston, TX; two daughters, Lorene Brazell and her husband, J.L. of Albuquerque, and Gaynell Eubanks of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Sabrina Strong and husband, Wendell of Des Moines, IA, Judy Brazell of Columbia, SC, Darrell Brazell and wife, Debbie of Lawrence, KS, David Tate of Houston, TX, Brent Tate and wife, Stacey, Tucson, AZ, Paul Tate of Houston, TX, Dan Eubanks and wife, Ronda of Atlanta, GA, and Kandace Eubanks of Atlanta, GA; three great-grandchildren, Justin Basteen, Gracie Brazell and Riley Tate. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a good friend to many others. He will be deeply missed by his wife, family and friends. Services will be held Monday, September 18, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at Montgomery Church of Christ, 7201 Montgomery Blvd. NE, 87109, with Kevin Owen officiating. Tenorio -- Frank Tenorio, resident of Rio Rancho, went with our Lord on September 13, 2000 after a short illness. He was born in Mora, New Mexico on March 14, 1934. Law enforcement was his life. He was a retired State Police officer, private investigator, and owner of a private security company. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Jo Tenorio. Also surviving are his three sons, Ronald Tenorio and wife, Charlotte, Joseph Tenorio and wife, Margie, and F. James Tenorio. He was also blessed with six grandchildren, Andre, Savannah, Caleb, Meredith and Ricardo Tenorio and Bobby Nunez. In addition, Frank is survived by his mother, Eloisa Tenorio; and sisters, Rosie Salas and husband, Pete, Regina Manzanares and husband, Tito, Norida Simmons and husband, Les, Dorothy Valdez and husband, Al; and a brother, Jerry Tenorio and wife, Sandra. Also surviving Frank is a goddaughter, Jennifer Rocha. Frank also had many in-laws, nieces, and nephews that will miss him dearly. Pallbearers will be John Rocha, Bobby Nunez, Matthew Salas, Tito Manzanares, Larry Valdez and F. James Tenorio. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Rio Rancho today at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary. Utterback -- Gertrude (Trudi) Utterback, born April 16, 1920, in Decatur, IL to Claude and Dora Quickel, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 16, 2000. She was a resident of Albuquerque for 36 years. She is survived by her children, Carol VandenBos and husband, Roger of Kalamazoo, MI, Larry Utterback and wife, Marie-Paule of Albuquerque and Debra Cox and husband, Kenneth also of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Church (Episcopal). Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Chapel, 1111 University NE, with Rev. Peter Schoew and Rev. Paul Collins, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul NE. Atwood -- Sylvester Atwood, 69, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2000. He was born in Austin, TX and had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1989. He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Atwood, Sr.; mother, Myrtle Canada; sister, Lillian Rhambo and his brother, Eddie Atwood. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Viola Atwood; daughters, Gina Mares and her husband, J.D., Lee Atwood, S. Marie Chacon and her husband, Herman; sons, Manuel and his wife, Barbara, Marcos and his wife, Vera, all of Albuquerque; brother, James Atwood of Austin, TX; sisters, Lula Mae Bartel of Phoenix, AZ, Myrtle Robertson, Dorothy Newman, Patricia Byrd, all of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Crystal (Kiki) and James Mares, Vanessa and Novella Atwood, Manuel, Jr., Desiree and Anthony Atwood, Marcos, Jr., Violet, Cheyenne and Adonis Atwood; great-grandchild, Elexes Martinez. Sylvester was an electronic tech since 1951. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Baty -- Robert E. Baty, 75, passed away Friday, September 15, 2000. He was born in Gilliand, TX on December 28, 1924. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Albuquerque; her two sons, Eugene Eddy and Robert Eddy of Albuquerque; his son, Jerry Michael Baty and his wife, Bonnie, of Denham Springs, LA; daughter, Karen Gayle Harper and her husband, Melvin of Jal, NM; special niece, Peggy Mills and her husband, Terry of Conchas, NM area; brother, L.B. Baty and his wife, Nina, of San Angelo, TX; sister-in-law, Pat Baty, of San Angelo, TX; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his late wife, Josephine (Jo) Baty of Jal, NM; his parents, L.B. and Beatrice Baty; and his brothers and sisters. Mr. Baty retired from El Paso Natural Gas in 1983 after 32 years of service in the Measurement Department. He was a Past Grand Master of the Independent Order of Oddfellows and Rebekahs of New Mexico, a member of the Lovington Lodge No. 44, and member of the Jal United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2000 at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Director's Chapel. Blaine -- E. Joyce Blaine, PGM, went to meet her Lord on September 9, 2000. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 24, 1920, to Father Howard Close Carmody and Colette Naomi LeSeur Butler. During WWII she first worked for Boeing Aircraft, but due to the work she was doing, it damaged her eyes. She then went to work for the phone company in the Alaskan Territory. When the war was over, she married Robert L. Blaine in Santa Fe, NM in January 1946. She and her family finally settled in Albuquerque where she was able to pursue her passion of art not only in her work but also for her own pleasure. Joyce was active with the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Enchanted Assembly #70 in the early 1960's. She was also very active in Order of Eastern Star, Desert Rose Chapter #70 and served as Worthy Grand Matron for the state of New Mexico in 1983-84. She was also a member of St. John's United Methodist Church of Albuquerque. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Blaine and and her son, Robert L. Blaine II. She is survived by her daughters, Jana L. Blaine-Bailey of Tempe, AZ and Lynda L. Blaine-Duke of El Paso, TX; and granddaughter, Joyce R. Cambier of Scottsdale, AZ; and two great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service was held Thursday, September 14, 2000 at the Chapel at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors. She was laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery next to her beloved husband of 39 years. Cannon -- Michael L. Cannon, 58, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Wednesday, September 13, 2000. Mr. Cannon is survived by his daughters, Sara Spencer and husband, Shannon and Melinda Moncayo and husband, Jose; son, Michael L. Cannon, II; sisters, Ann Keeser and Mary Mayfield; grandchildren, Abigayle Spencer and Madison Moncayo; former wife, Reta King; nephew, Michael Keese; nieces, Ann Keese, Emily Chambers and Katie Mayfield. Mr. Cannon was a retired US Army Captain, with 29th infantry division in the Viet Nam War. He graduated from St. Mary's University Law School in 1975. Mr. Cannon practiced law in San Antonio with Bexar County District Attorney's Office. He also served as a trial attorney with U.S. Immigration Office in El Paso, TX. A memorial service was held on Friday, September 15, 2000, at 3:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Pastor Lem Boyles officiating. Carlson -- Darlene Carlson, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died Wednesday, September 13, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Carlson Ozment and husband, James III of Memphis, TN, Beth Forrester and husband, Jim of Albuquerque, Melissa Hynes and husband, Ken of Crosswicks, NJ and Jenny Whiteman and husband, Terry of Rio Rancho; granddaughters, Michelle Foltz of Nashville, TN and Leslie Foltz of Albuquerque; grandsons, Jamie Ozment of Memphis, TN, Kenny Hynes and Kevin Hynes, both of Crosswicks, NJ; and sister, Dorothy Grove and husband, John of La Salle, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. Carlson. Carpenter -- Carolyn Jan Carpenter, 59, a resident of Albuquerque since 1980, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2000. A brave little woman with a heart of gold, she graced our lives with her presence. She had battled chronic illness for many years. Jan is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charles R. (Dick) Carpenter; her loving mother and caregiver, Florence L. Pearce of the family home; brother, Richard E. Pearce and son, Chris of Las Vegas, NV; aunts, Doris Hoggs of Chilton, Texas, and Mary Worsham of Fresno, CA. She was preceded in death by her father, Baxter A. Pearce in 1969. Other survivors include all the sons and daughters of the Charlie B. Carpenter family, their families, and many friends who loved her dearly. Jan enjoyed success as a hair stylist for many years, helping to support her husband during the early years of his Air Force Career. She retired to homemaking when illness forced her to leave the workforce. She enjoyed her bird collection, her home, garden, fishing and her poodle, Baby Tia. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private"Celebration of life" was held at the family home. Jan's cremains will be laid to rest near her father's graveside in Fresno, CA. She fought a galliant battle and has finally found peace and relief from pain in the arms of our Lord. A bright light in our lives has been dimmed, but she will live in our hearts forever. Dibello -- Edward Salvatore DiBello, 83, loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, and friend, a recent resident of Albuquerque, formerly of the Greater Boston area, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2000. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Florence; his sons, Edward G. DiBello and wife, Christine of Albuquerque, Michael F. DiBello and wife, Catherine of Redmond, WA; and his grandchildren, Amy and Anne DiBello Albuquerque, and Scott and Ryan DiBello of Redmond, WA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Catherine DiBello; and his brother, George DiBello, who died in the invasion of Anzio Beach, January 28, 1944. Mr. DiBello was born March 12, 1917 in East Boston, MA. He graduated from East Boston High School, Class of 1935. As a Post Office letter carrier, he met his wife-to-be on his route. They married in Madison, WI in 1943. During WWII, he was a Sergeant in the US Army Air Corps. He served in the China, Burma, and India Theater as control tower operator in support of air operations over"the Hump". His sketches, letters, and stories of India are treasured by his family. After the war, he returned to the US Post Office where he served his customers with courtesy and dignity as a letter carrier, parcel post driver, and supervisor. He retired from the Post Office in 1975 after 37 years. He also was a member of the Board of Appeals in Stoneham, MA and freely gave his time to church and civic organizations. He enjoyed his retirement as an amateur oil painter, skilled woodworker, and maker of fine clocks. He loved the seashore of his native New England, Southwestern sunsets, and moonrise over the Sandias. Most of all he loved his wife and family. He will be remembered as a fair, honest and decent man. Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 18, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel Ave. NE, with Father Antonio Mondragon, Celebrant. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
