SEDILLO -- Fidel Sedillo, Beloved Father and Grandfather was called home by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 29, 2004. Fidel was born on December 29, 1909 in Manzano, NM and was a former resident of Mountainair, NM. He was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad. He was preceded in death by his wife, Terecita, son Feleciano, and brothers; Melquides and Elfido Sedillo. Fidel is survived by his son, Prospero Sedillo and wife, Lita, Daughter-in-law, Sofie Sedillo; daughters, Frances Montoya and husband, Benjamin, Corrine Melton and husband, Frank, and Angie Salas and husband, Dick. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and other beloved family members and friends. A rosary will be held on Tuesday, June 1st at 7:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Albuquerque. Funeral Services are set for Wednesday, June 2nd at 9:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Tony Montoya, Raymond Sedillo, Jeff Melton, Gerald Salas, Tony Sedillo and Tiny Sedillo. CARLYON -- Donald Edward Carlyon, 78, Albuquerque resident since 1922, and formerly of Marquette, MI entered eternal life May 27, 2004 at the New Mexico Heart Hospital. He was a member of the Shrine of St. Bernadette. Survivors include his daughter, Sandra Lee Carylon; son, David Allen (Catherine) Carlyon; and grandson, Timothy D. (Darice) Carlyon all of Albuqerque. Preceded in death by his wife, Rita. Memorial Mass at the Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Road, on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 at 11:00 a.m.

MONTOYA -- Joseph E. (Joe), a life long resident of Bernalillo died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 27, 2004. He was born March 23, 1951. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Dolores Montoya; his children, Diane Montoya and Michael Montoya; his grandchildren, Breanna, Jovanna and Santiago, all of Bernalillo. He is also survived by his father, Joe Montoya; his sisters, Adela Dominguez and husband, George, Sally Baros and husband, Tony, all of Bernalillo, NM Julia Archibeque and husband, Elias of Algodones, NM, Emily Thompson and husband, David of West Virginia; brothers, Martin Montoya and Chris Lovato both of Bernalillo, NM. He was preceded in death by his mother, Josefita Lovato and stepfather, Crespin Lovato. Joseph was employed by the Town of Bernalillo; he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, the Sandoval County Sheriffs Posse, Cabezon Water Association, and the Cabezon Cattle Growers Association. He was a former member of the Bernalillo Volunteer Fire Department and of the Coronado Little League. He graduated from Bernalillo High School in 1969. He loved horses and enjoyed working at his ranch in San Luis. He graciously opened his ranch home in San Luis to friends and family. Joe will be greatly missed by his loving family and his many, many friends. A rosary will be recited Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Freddie Sanchez, James Montoya, Frank Garcia, Danny Benavidez, Tony Baros, George Dominguez, Leonard Prarie, David Dominguez, and Max Dominguez. SANCHEZ -- Viola---Mrs. Viola T. Sanchez a resident of Albuquerque passed away at home in the arms of her loving family on away 28, 2004. Mrs. Sanchez is survived by her loving husband, Regino Sanchez of 55 years; five children, Clara Lopez and husband, Delbert, Veronica Medina and husband, William, Josie S. Quintana and husband, Gilbert, Raymond Sanchez and wife, Barbara, and Elizabeth Dees de Sanchez and husband, David; seven sisters, Margaret Lovato and husband, Joe, Bertha Chavez, Pauline Dimas and husband, Prudy, Helen Salazar, Sophie Owens, Lucille Taylor, and Esther Osollo and husband, Lou; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her son, Nicholas Sanchez; two brothers, Florence Tafoya and Rudy Tafoya; and sister, Ruth Gonzales. A visitation for Mrs. Sanchez will be Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. Final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Father Roberto. LOPEZ -- Mr. Ernest Jerry Lopez, 69, born in California and raised in Los Lentes, New Mexico, a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and best friend in the world to many was placed in the hands of the Lord on Wednesday, May 26, 2004. Mr. Lopez is the beloved father to Henry Lopez and wife, Jeanette, Ben Lopez and wife, Alice, Janet Micaletti, Beverly Barela and husband, Marvin, Veronica Benda and husband, Sonny, Geraldine Aragon and husband, Joseph, David Lopez and wife, Gail, Little Zamora and husband, Michael Finn, Isabel Crieth and husband, Kevin, Leonella ( Leo ) Martinez, Adolph Lopez and wife, Kathleen; one step daughter, Tammy Nalder; his beloved friend and ex-wife, Rosemary Lopez; 32 grandchildren, Adrieanne and husband, Julian, Eileen, Nanci, Cynthia, Donna, Lesley, Michael and wife, Angela, Joseph, David Rick and wife, Heather, Desiree and husband, Gilbert, Amanda, Steven, Tamara, Kelly, Tiffany, Finney, Erin, Katie, Lacey, K.C., Hailey, Sarina, Antone, Armani, Zachari, Ayla, Cheyanne and James; 12 great grandchildren, Julian, Jerome, Ariel, Deija, Tashi, Naomi, Ryan, Faith, Ethan, Xandor, Samantha and Monique; several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his best friend his dog, Toss Lopez. Mr. Lopez was a member of the Catholic Church. Mr. Lopez was well known for his expertise in the plating business where he practiced this craft and lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for the past 18 years. Jerry graduated from Los Lunas High School in 1953 where he participated in various sports and was the state shot put champion. Jerry always graciously opened his house and heart to all family and friends his residence in Las Vegas. He returned home to Los Lentes to spend his final days with all his family members. A Rosary was recited at San Clemente Catholic Church on Friday evening by Rosemary Lopez. A final visitation will be Saturday morning from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at the San Antonio Catholic Church, corner of Los Lentes and Trujillo Rd. in Los Lunas, with a Funeral Service to be held at 8:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Los Lentes Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Michael Barela, Joseph Barela, David Rick Modisette, Michael Finny Zamora, Steven Aragon, Antone Martinez, Armani Lopez and Kelly Ray Lopez. MARTINEZ -- Arquin Martinez, age 82, beloved father and grandfather was called home by our Heavenly Father, Thursday, May 27, 2004, while surrounded by his loving family. Arquin was born in Edith, CO; and was a resident of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife Rita Martinez on April 28, 2004; a daughter, Judy Ann Guerra; and a son, Martin Martinez. Arquin is survived by his loving daughters, Dolores Lopez and husband Norbert, Denise Whipple and husband David; his precious grandchildren, Dominic Santistevan, Deanna Zamora and husband Leonard; eight great-grandchildren; and other beloved family members and friends. Arquin will be greatly missed by his loving family. A rosary was recited Friday evening. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. BECK -- Billy Dale Beck was born Tuesday, December 9, 1930 in Muleshoe, Texas and moved to his heavenly home on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 in his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 73. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lottie Mae (Henson) Beck of Albuquerque; four children, Karen Beck of Albuquerque, Steven Dale, Candy, Billy and Sabrina Beck all of Middletown, VA, David and Suzette of Tijeras, NM, John, Debbie, Jennifer, Shyanne, Destini, Joseph, Jonathon, and Jeremiah Beck all of Albuquerque; four sisters, Lillie Mae Henson and husband, Mott, Pauline Jantz and husband, August, Helen Vaughn and Freda Mantooth. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Willis and Susie Beck; brother, James Beck; sister, Margaret Bell; and grandson, Daniel Michael Beck. He moved to Tajique, New Mexico at the age of 2 and grew up in the Estancia Valley. He went to the Estancia School. He moved to Albuquerque in 1949 to work at Rainbo Baking Co. He went into the Marine Corp in 1951 and served in the Korean War. Bill returned home safely in 1953. He married Lottie Mae Henson on August 21, 1953 in Estancia, NM at a beautiful home wedding. They have lived in Albuquerque since then. Services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Presbyterian Hospice, P.O. GRIEGO -- Daniel D. "Chief" Griego, age 58, passed away May 26, 2004 at his residence in Santa Rosa following a short illness. Danny or Chief as he was affectionately known was born May 10, 1946 in Santa Rosa to the home of Felix P. and Amalia Duran Griego. He was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. At an early age Danny began selling newspapers door to door. Danny eventually got into the newspaper business and spanned his carreer in the newspaper business for over 27 years. Danny was the sports editor for the Santa Rosa Digest, the Guadalupe County Communicator and was recently working for the Santa Rosa News where he recently won the E.H. Shaffer Award from the New Mexico Press Association for the weekly newspaper class II General News Photo. Danny loved writing sports and taking pictures for the newspaper. His greatest joy of his career was writing the sports for the Santa Rosa Lions. Danny was a fixture on the sidelines at all Santa Rosa Lion Football Games taking pictures and keeping his own stats. This year Danny was honored by the Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools Athletics for his dedication to Lion Sports. You never saw Danny without his camera. He also worked as a projectionist at the Pecos Theatre for many years and also worked for the Eastern Plains Headstart. Danny was an avid sports fanatic. He coached basket ball for the St. Rose Hawks, coached little league and participated in summer softball. Although Danny was never married and had no children, he considered all his nieces and nephews as his own kids. Danny was a loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend and will be truly missed by the whole Santa Rosa community. Danny is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Gloria Griego, his brother in laws Tony Lopez, Richard Grant and Arturo Martinez and an infant nephew. Survivors include his brother Arturo Griego and wife Terry of Santa Rosa, his sisters Herlinda Talbott and husband Louie of Ohio, Lydia Martinez, Ida Lopez both of Santa Rosa, Clorie Gallegos and husband Steve of Puerto De Luna, Nancy Grant of Albuquerque and a very special niece Olga Muniz and husband Joey of Santa Rosa. Rosary services will be held on Friday evening, May 28, at 7:00 from St. Rose of Lima Church with his cousins Chris and Jose Griego leading in prayer. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. also from St. Rose Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be his nephews Richard Griego, Raymond Griego, Robert Griego, Bruce Muniz, David Lopez, Elliot Grant, Issac Gallegos, Jude Martinez and Greg Martinez. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be the rest of his nephews, his many friends, members of the Santa Rosa Lions Athletics and coaches.
