Griego -- Johnny Griego, 31, passed away September 15, 1999. He was a native New Mexican, served in the US Navy, and was self employed as a cosmetologist. He is survived by sons, Jonathan Griego, Patrick Griego; mother, Florencia Laris and husband, Gene; grandmother, Alacia Apodaca; sisters, Donna Madrigal and husband, Juan, Denise Lovato and husband, James; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, with Rosary recited at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 1999, Mass at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, and Burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa, NM. Rael -- Tieyerra Rael, 12, a lifetime resident of the Grants/Milan area, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 1999, after a lengthy illness. She enjoyed listening to music, cheerleading, going to church, and spending quality time with family and friends. Tieyerra was preceded in death by her grandfather, Nick Garcia; her aunt, Kathy Holm; her uncle, Tommy Rael; and her cousin, Joseph Lopez. She is survived by her mother, Nanette Holm and step-father, Jaime Tigges of Albuquerque; her father, Johnny (Michael) Rael; her half-sister, Ruby Rael; her grandparents, Nancy Lankard and Julio Sisneros of Milan, Ermenia Chavez of Santa Fe, Mr. and Mrs. Juan Rael of Milan; her God parents, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Rael of Milan; her aunts, Nikki Holm, Diane Sanchez; and many more special relatives, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and neighbors. A Christian service and viewing was held Friday, July 16 at 7:00 p.m., and a Memorial service took place on July 17, 1999, 10:00 a.m., at the Temple of Peace Church, followed by Burial at Grants Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Michael Cardigan, Loren Antonio, Jose Rael, Jesus Rael, Alicia Rael and Christina Pereda. Honorary pallbearers were Moses Marquez, Joe Romero, Johnny Romero, Nicole Rael, Michelle Sanchez, Monique Griego and Renee Rael. Direct services, in Albuquerque, was in charge of the arrangements. On behalf of Tieyerra Rael, Nancy Lankard, Nanette Holm and their family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and contributions.

Sanchez -- Eduardo I. Sanchez, age 66, of Grants, passed away Sunday, May 30, at St. Joseph Hospital in Albuquerque. Mr. Sanchez was born May 15, 1933 in Albuquerque to Victor and Beneranda Candelaria Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez is survived by his wife, Melba Sanchez of the family home; nine sons, Rudy Garcia and his wife, Dorothy, Victor Sanchez and his wife, Mary, Jerry Sanchez, Patrick Sanchez, Randy Sanchez, Joseph Sanchez, Johnny Sanchez, Leroy Sanchez and Chris Sanchez and his wife, Aileen; four daughters, Shirley and her husband, Andrew Torres, Rhonda and her husband, Abel Gutierrez, Sandra and her husband, Curtis Marez and Darlene and her husband, Gilbert Garduno; his sister, Christina Marquez of Corrales; his 33 grandchildren; and his 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Sanchez was preceded in death by his son, Mark Sanchez; and one grandson, Archie Salcido. Visitation will be Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Grants Mortuary Chapel. The Rosary will be Thursday, 7:00 p.m., at St. Teresa Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Teresa Catholic Church with Fr. Godfrey Blank, OFM officiating. Burial will be at Grants Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Steve Trujillo, Kenny Gutierrez, Ed Sanchez, Christopher Sanchez Jr., Jerry Sanchez Jr., and Leroy Sanchez Jr. Honorary bearers will be Kevin Gutierrez, Randy Sanchez Jr., Steven Sanchez, Joseph Sanchez Jr., Daniel Sanchez and Philip Marez. Mr. Sanchez was a barber. He worked in Grants as a barber from 1954-1986; and in Gallup from 1986-present. Grants Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Garcia -- Nancy Garcia, 59, of Hemet, CA formerly of Albuquerque died Friday, May 28, 1999. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Antonia Apodaca and Maria Gurule; and brothers, David and Lucas Garcia. Nancy is survived by her daughters, Pauline Bates, Lori Maez and Nadine Maez; sons, Jerry Marquez and David Maez; sisters, Gloria Yola Gomez and husband, John, Veronica Ronnie Sedillo and husband, Aurelio Jr., and Frieda Garcia and mate, Clyde Trujillo; brothers, Carlos Garcia and wife, Alice and Johnny B. Garcia; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one goddaughter and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 1999 at Hillcrest Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 4, 1999 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Arvizo -- Bertha Arvizo, 57, passed away Thursday, May 6, 1999 at her home in Datil, NM. She was born September 20, 1941 to Delfido and Elvira Jaramillo DeLao in Aragon, NM. She is survived by her husband, Manuel Arvizo; her father, Delfido DeLao of Horse Springs, NM; children, Daniel DeLao of Albuquerque, Manuel Arvizo Jr. of Datil, NM, Elvira DeLao of Albuquerque, Suzy Gurule of Los Lunas, Yolanda Marquez and Alice Chavez, both of Albuquerque; brothers, Johnny DeLao of Reserve, NM, Robert DeLao of Springerville, AZ and Steve DeLao of Oklahoma; sisters, Gloria Ray of Texas, Theresa Pierce of Reno, NV, Lorenza DeLao of Silver City, NM, Linda Aragon of Reserve and Elisa Aragon of Horse Springs, NM; eight grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was a beloved mother, loving wife and endearing grandmother. Services were held Monday, May 10, 1999, 11:00 a.m., at the home of Delfido DeLao in Horse Springs, NM with Deacon Juan Aragon officiating. Interment will be in the Horse Springs Cemetery. Lujan -- Andy Lou Lujan, 41, a resident of Albuquerque for 14 years, died Saturday, March 28, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV. He is survived by his wife of ten years, Amy Rose Puentes Lujan; children, Andrew Evan Lujan, Alexandria Loren Lujan and Angelo Patrick Luis Lujan, all of Albuquerque; mother, Esperanza Lujan of Las Cruces; sisters, Emelita Lujan of Las Cruces, and Sonja Portillo and husband, Frank of Germany; brother, Fredi Lujan and wife, Cindi of Albuquerque; niece, Stephanie Ulibarri of Albuquerque; nephews, Gavin Lujan of Albuquerque and Julian Portillo of Germany; and numerous aunts and uncles from Marfa, TX, Las Cruces, Lordsburg, Tucson, AZ, Presidio, TX, and Odessa, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Lujan. Andy was a graduate of New Mexico State University. He attended Ranger Junior College in Ranger, TX and played on the Junior College World Series Championship Team. Andy was employed with First American Title Insurance Co. as assistant vice-president. He was a member of the New Mexico Land and Title Association, the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce, the Lobo Club and the NMSU Alumni Association. Andy was also a member of Church of the Risen Savior. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:30 p.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Father Paul Baca reciting. Lopez -- Rosa Lueras Lopez, 72, a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother and sister, was called home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 16, 1999 after a long and courageous battle with dialysis. Ms. Lopez was born on August 10, 1926 in Corona, NM; she was a longtime resident of Los Lunas; the oldest of 14 children, she raised two as her own and was looked up to by all her brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Juan S. Lopez; a brother-in-law, Raymond Allen. She is survived by Nora Lueras Marquez and husband, Johnny, Sammy Lueras and wife, Florey, whom Ms. Lopez raised as her own children; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchilren; seven sisters, Alice L. Marquez and husband, Robert, Sally L. Allen, Marie"Lupe" Moraga and husband, David, Clara L. Griego and husband, Nick, Tina L. Griego and husband, Dino, Marcella Lueras, Bernice L. Candelaria and husband, Ray; four brothers, Raymond Lueras, Julian Lueras and wife, Rita, Joe Lueras and wife, Elva, Manuel Lueras and wife, Alice; and numerous nieces and nephews. Romero -- Manuel"Indio" Romero Sr., 64, beloved and devoted father, grandfather and brother, was called home to be with the Lord, February 16, 1999. He was born May 23, 1934 in Los Lunas, NM. Mr. Romero was preceded in death by his parents, Doroteo and Senida Romero; and a son, Ricardo Romero. He is survived by two sons, Manuel Romero Jr. and wife, Kathleen, Henry Romero and wife, Tina; two step-sons, David Gallegos and Herman Gallegos, all of Albuquerque; four daughters, Maria Soila Herrera and husband, Miguel of Albuquerque, Patricia Estrada and husband, Ruben of Long Beach, CA, Yolanda Solano and husband, Skip of Rio Rancho, Connie Barraza and husband, Gabriel; two step-daughters, Margaret Gallegos, Lucille Montano and husband, Louis, all of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Grace Ulibarri and husband, Jose, Josie Marquez and husband, Victorio, Betty Aritaga and Carmen Najera and husband, Jessie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
