GALLEGOS -- Joseph "Joey" Jeremy Gallegos, 20, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009. He is survived by his father, Joe Gallegos and wife, Elena; mother, Jodelle Willoughby; step-father, Tracy Willoughby; siblings, Jazmine and Tyler Willoughby, and Angus and Stevie Ray Gallegos; girlfriend, Jasmine; grandparents, Leo Maestas, Sally Maestas, Richard and Arsenia Gallegos, and Jim and Cookie Willoughby; great-grandmother, Frances Gallegos; aunts, Tamara Pacheco, Anita Large, Tami Miller, and Lorraine Willoughby; uncles, Anthony Gallegos, Gabriel Large, Tom Pacheco, Glenn Willoughby, and Darren Miller; and several other extended family and friends. WYLIE -- Mary G. Wylie passed away suddenly on November 12, 2009. Daughter of Rosendo Ramon Gallegos and Margarita Francisca Salazar, Mary, was born September 23, 1929 in Belen, New Mexico. She was a registered nurse working for the Santa Fe Railroad Hospital for 38 years. Mary and her husband Warren were members of Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Mary will always be remembered for her love and spoiling of her family and her beloved Dachsunds. Mary is survived by her much loved husband of 40 years, Warren William Wylie, her sister, Mrs. Ernest Padilla, and her brother Rosendo "Buddy" Gallegos. She leaves behind her son John Stephen Mahony, and her stepdaughter Connie Trainum and stepson Phil Wylie, and numerous cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her stepson Bruce Wylie. Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009, followed by a scriptural rosary at 3:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. GONZALES -- Magdalena Gonzales, 93, a resident of Sena, NM, passed away on November 8, 2009. Mrs. Gonzales is survived by her children, Antonia Gallegos, Horacio Gonzales and wife, Viola, Roger Gonzales, and wife, Eppie, Meliton Gonzales and wife, Cecilia, Eloise Okada and husband, Koichi, Arturo Gonzales and wife, Dulcinea, Fermin Gonzales and wife, Viola, Dulcinea Biggers and husband, Julian, and Casimiro Encinias and wife, Esquipulita; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. RIVERA -- Jose B. Rivera, age 83, of Corrales, NM awoke in the presence of his Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 8, 2009. Jose was born to Jose and Sinforosa (Martinez) Rivera in Canjilon, NM on September 18, 1926. Jose was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who served his country proudly in World War II in the US Army. He was an active member of VFW Post #5432 in Corrales. Jose enjoyed any outdoor sports and taking care of his garden. Jose was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Juan Rivera, Isidoro Rivera, Bertha Rivera, and Leo Rivera. He is survived by his children, Diane C. Fuhrman, Patricia (Patsy) Kramer and husband Cliff, Christina Evans; and seven grandchildre; and three great-grandchildren; siblings, Gavina Madrid, Perfecto Rivera and wife Mabel, Reyes Manzanares and husband Solomon, Sergio Rivera and wife Dorothy, Sinfer Gomez and husband Ramon. A Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. with all services being held in the Stover Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. WOODS -- Melvin (Mel) Abbott Woods, born October 29, 1920 in Clayton, NM to Walter Abbott Woods and Oma Kitts Woods, passed away in Albuquerque on November 7. Mel moved to Albuquerque in 1935 during the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. He survived the Pearl Harbor attack working at the U.S. Navy Yard as a civilian. After that event, he joined the U.S. Navy and was discharged with an Honorable Discharge on May 20, 1946. He had a successful career working for the NM Department of Labor and retired with 26 years of service. He spent 25 successful years in real estate as part owner of Manzano Realty and worked for Bender & Co. He was a member of the following: Toastmasters Club, 20-30 Club , American Legion Post 49, Ballut Abyad Shrine. Preceded in death by his parents Walter and Oma Woods; brother James (Buddy); and first wife Constance Woods. He is survived by wife Jane Woods; brother Warren Woods and wife Lucy Woods; and sister Wendy Myers. He is also survived by the following children: Sharon Woods, Ken Woods and Lisa, Marilee and Manny Luera. Stepchildren: Angela and Chris Duran, Phyllis and Ron Narvaez, Stephanie and Mark Kozemchak, Orlando Jr. and Marlene, and Frank Jaramillo. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Woods for his assistance; Dr. William Berlin for his long term care, Richelle Gallegos for her loving care, Marlene Jaramillo for her nursing care, the nursing staff at Skies Rehab and at Vista Care hospice, and Reina for being Mel's little friend over the past 2.5 years. CHAVEZ -- Joseph F. born February 11, 1946 in Albuquerque, NM. Affectionately known as Papa, Nano, Grandpa, Daddy-O and Mi Vida, passed away at home November 5, 2009 after a battle with cancer. Joseph was loved by many and well known for his willingness to help others. He served in the US Army and US Navy as a German linguist. He recently retired from The City of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by parents, Felix Chavez and Martha Lee and his sister Janice Armstrong. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Rosemary; granddaughter Marina Paradise; children; Martin Garcia and fiancee Holly Porter, Cynthia and Jack Paradise; siblings; Darlene and Milton Saiz, Larry and Maya Chavez, Jim Armstrong, Karen and Bryan Beck, Ernest and Cece Garcia, Reymundo Garcia, Eddie and Lena Garcia, Marina and Orlando Roybal, Virginia and Tony Archuleta, Manuel Martinez, Kathy Martinez, Diane and Phillip Lovato and Felimon Gallegos Jr.; cousin Armida Quezada; many special nephews, nieces, other family and friends who loved and will miss him. DIAZ -- Willie Diaz, age 63, a beloved husband, brother and uncle, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 3, 2009. He was born on September 19, 1946 in Alcade, NM to the late Maria and Juan Diaz. Willie is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Rose Diaz; a son Michael Diaz; and his sister, Annabel Maestas and husband Armando; and other numerous relatives and a host of friends. MAESTAS -- Pamela M. Maestas, 51, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away November 2, 2009. Mrs. Maestas was preceded in death by her grandparents Donila and Silas Gallegos; and nephew Max Marcos Martinez. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Richard Maestas of Albuquerque; children Nicholas and Erika Maestas; parents Max and Evangeline Martinez; father and mother-in-law Joe Harpy and Theresa Maestas; brother Max Martinez and his wife Becky; sister Tammy Ulibarri and husband, Ronald; and many other relatives and friends. She was a member of Church of the Risen Savior. Pam lived life to the fullest and brought her positive outlook to everyone. She loved camping, fishing, hunting, and most of all, her family.
