BARNETT -- Elizabeth Miles Barnett, 78, passed away on August 5. She was a long time resident of Albuquerque. She is survived by her children, Phyllis Boyadjian and husband, John, of Albuquerque and David Barnett and wife, Loretta, of Sunapee, NH; a brother, Dr. James Miles of California; a sister, Carolyn Osborne, of California; and five grandchildren, J.D., Leslie, Laura, Lark, and Cabot. She was an avid rose gardner and the founding director of UNM's School of Physical Therapy. The family has planned a private remembrance. GORDON -- Mamie Patricia Gordon, 77, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1974 and coming to New Mexico from New York passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2004. Mamie was born June 17, 1927 the daughter of Earl and Patricia Samuels in Birmingham, England. She had moved to New York in 1950. Mamie was a member of the Meadowlark Senior Center, worked at the Rio Rancho Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 11 years, helped raise many of her grandchildren, and she and her husband Bert had been the previous owners of Linwood Food Market in Albuquerque. Her hobbies included reading, traveling, and studying history. Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, Egbert in 1995; and by three sisters. She is survived by four children, Diane Albert and husband James of Rio Rancho, Andrew Gordon and his wife Lisa of Kingston, Jamaica, Melissa Gordon of Kingston, Jamaica, and Pamela Mincey and husband Jerone of Rio Rancho; one brother, Earl "Billy" Samuels and wife Peggy of Dublin, Ireland; nine grandsons; and eleven great-grandchildren. Mamie leaves behind a host of relatives, friends and loved ones in Ireland, England, Jamaica, and Australia. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 9, 2004 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the Service being held at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with Rev. HESSELBARTH -- Donald Dwight Hesselbarth, 89, a resident Rio Rancho and formerly of Albuquerque, died Friday, August 6, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Karyn S. Ogonowski of Rio Rancho; granddaughter, Amber L. and husband, James Coburn of Rio Rancho; brothers, Wayne Hesselbarth and wife, Wilma of Santa Maria, CA, Maynard and wife, Opal of Hesselbarth of Grand Junction, CO and Keith R. and wife, Toby of Santa Maria, CA; sister, Redessa Holman of Camden, MI; and cousin, Naomi Flint of Salina, KS. Mr. Hesselbarth was an active member of Paradise Hills United Methodist Church and a former employee of Sandia National Laboratories, retiring in 1980 after 30 years of service. JONES -- Iris Virginia Large Jones, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004. She is survived by her five children: Douglas R. Jones and wife Linda of Odessa, TX, Virginia K.L. Jones, Abe Castillo and Harvey A. Jones, all of Albuquerque, Carol Leigh Jones Kunz and husband Brad of Lehi, UT and David Joseph Jones and wife Laura of Orlando, FL. Grandchildren: James, Celeste, Kevin, Penelope, Tiffany, Stephen, Shana, Joyce, Sharon, Ryan, Stacia, Stetson, Stephanie, Kimberly and Melissa. Great-grandchildren: Dustin, Rachel, Kevin Michael, Jasmine, Jonathan, Fabian, Wendell, Kevin, Deidre, Noah, Marisah, Cierrah, Jennifer, Joseph, Darius, Johnathan, Katelyn, Christine, Austin, Chandler, Bailee, Alicia, Michael, Savannah. Brother Clinton P. Duke and wife Lou of Lake Charles, LA, sister Marilyn Maulden and Husband Altie of Louisiana. Her husband Rawleigh Douglas Jones; three sisters; six brothers; and a niece, Mary, preceded her in death. Mrs. Jones enjoyed antiques and flea markets and was well read in the Humanities. TAFOYA -- Mrs. Lynette Eileen Tafoya, born July 2, 1974, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on August 5, 2004. Mrs. Tafoya is survived by her husband, Jerry Tafoya; three children, J.D., Alicia, and Andrew; mother, Virginia Sigala-Valencia; sister, Veronica Valencia and Miguel Andrade; brother, Lorenzo Valencia and Alicia Montano; stepfather, Frank Valencia; grandmother, Rosa Sigala-Chavez; special cousin, Cindy Lou; father and mother in law, Dennis and Patsy Gutierrez; brother in law, Dennis Gutierrez Jr.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, friends and her Nina and Nino. Mrs. Tafoya was preceded in death by her grandfather, Filiberto Sigala; father, David Aguilar; and auntie, Pat Sigala. Mrs. Tafoya was a member of the Catholic church, and a 1992 graduate of Rio Grande High School. A visitation for Mrs. Tafoya will be Monday evening from 6:30pm until 7:00pm at San Martin Catholic Church, 8301 Camino de San Martin SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. Final vistation will be Tuesday morning from 8:30am until 9:00am at San Martin Catholic Church with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 9:00am by Father James Vance. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Valencia, Frank Valencia, Miguel Andrade, Shawn Sigala, Alfred Sigala, and Ben Sigala. TAYLOR -- Mark Anthony Taylor passed away on August 5, 2004 after a brief illness. He was born August 15, 1957 in Denver, CO. He is survived by his children, James, Andrew and Corey; his mother, Mary Alice Taylor, all of Albuquerque; his brother, Glen E. Taylor of Denver. He is also survived by his partner, Veronica Dodge of Albuquerque. Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Renee Taylor and his father, Glen Taylor. A memorial service and his cremains interred at Chester T. DIAZ -- Danielle Annette Diaz, age 23, passed away August 4, 2004 in Albuquerque. Danielle was born in Grand Junction, CO on January 19, 1981 to Cynthia Serrano and Christopher Diaz. She moved to Albuquerque in 2002 and worked at Social Services as an Administrative Assistant. While living in Las Vegas, NV, she trained and attended school for a forensic investigator. Danielle was fond of art and sports. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Rudy Romero; and her great-grandparents, Jose and Pablita Lucero and Pres Serrano Sr. and Rebecca Aguilera. Survivors include her daughter, Scarlette Olivia Diaz, and mother, Cynthia Serrano, both of Las Vegas, NV; father, Chris Diaz of Grand Junction, CO; sister, Kimberly M. GRISHAM -- Gregory Alan Grisham, beloved father of Taylor Marie and Erin Kimberely, who are his pride and joy, and loving husband of Michelle Lujan Grisham, was born to Wyndoleen and Wilber Grisham on September 25, 1958. He grew up in Albuquerque with a passion for horses and competed successfully in Arabian National Horse Shows. He graduated from Cibola High School and received his degree in economics from UNM where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and met Michelle, his wife of twenty-one years. As Director of Vertical Marketing at Basis International, he traveled throughout Europe and Asia, forming friendships wherever he went. Greg had an amazing zest for life and a sense of humor that endeared him to all he met. From the Follies at Alvarado Elementary to Valley Viking cheerleading, his enthusiasm for and involvement in his daughters' lives knew no bounds. He could always be counted on to lend a hand, not only to his parents and family, but to every friend who ever called. Greg will be sorely missed by other surviving family members, including brother, Michael Grisham and his wife, Carol Peckham, brother, Thomas Grisham and his wife, Deborah; sister, Sandra Grisham and her husband, Wayne Jordon, and sister, Debra Grisham; nieces, Sarah Grisham, Elizabeth Roybal and her husband, Rockie, Jennifer Niver, Susannah Stark and her husband, Michael, and Addie Jordon; and Shantel Lujan; nephews, Jeremy Grisham, Jason Niver and his wife, Cindy, John Grisham, and Max Jordon; Tony and Ryan Lujan; and by his great-niece, Stacey; by his in-laws, Dr. L. E. Lujan and his wife, Sonja, and their son, Gregory; and by his many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Addie Jewell McCarty and Jesse and Addie Lee Grisham, and his wife's sister, Kimberely. Greg was a frequent blood donor during life and an organ donor.
